  1. Ronald Waterreus played 49 games in 05-06 with Klos playing 3. (Another shocker - when Klos was no longer injured). Letizi started the Le Guen era as number 1 with McGregor as number 2, that quickly changed. Stefan Klos was third choice that season. Fucking hell.
  2. Billy Dodds on John Nelms after not getting the job at Dundee: “John Nelms, after speaking to him yesterday, he's a good lad and what you see is what you get. And that's the way I found him.” Billy Dodds when given the opportunity to stick the boot in: "I wouldn’t like him in the trenches with me. I couldn’t trust the guy." He's one of BBC Scotland's leading pundits.
  3. Posted that in the Championship version of this thread. Used to be a goalkeeper when I was young (Not above any level of playing with my mates) so have always paid more attention to keepers than any other position. My favourite non-Dundee keepers included: Peter Kjaer - Colourblind but sensational for Aberdeen. Stefan Klos - Vastly underrated keeper in that he was behind Jens Lehman in the German national team. Unlucky to have played in the same period as Oliver Kahn. Best goalkeeper I've watched in Scotland. Scandalous that he was on the bench for a season behind Alan McGregor. McGregor is a good keeper, but Klos was on a different level. Javier Sanchez-Broto - Collected crosses for Livi that he shouldn't have been coming for and it always impressed he as he wasn't an intimidating keeper ala Rab Douglas. Antti Niemi - Fantastic keeper for Hearts. Craig Gordon wasn't on his level IMO. (Hearts fans better placed to disagree)
  4. Won't disagree on his managerial appointments. He needs to take a step back in regards to that. I do think he gets an unnecessarily hard time from our support. He's (And obviously Keyes) have given us 7 year of off the pitch stability and whilst it's been a bumpy road off the pitch, his first appointment took us to heights we'd not seen at our club since Bonetti's millions and arguably should have taken us further. It's not a hard contest to win but he and Keyes have been the best owners of our club in my lifetime and the only thing I'd moan about is 2 shocking managerial appointments (Even then, I bought into McCann for a bit) and a few overzealous promises such as the game in the US so forgive me for giving him some credit when there's the opportunity to do so.
  5. It's an absolute shocker that Alex Rae deemed Craig Samson a superior keeper to Ludovic Roy. I've mentioned before that's what inspired my username, but I genuinely believe we might have pipped Hamilton to the league title if it were not for Samson's ridiculous mistakes. Twice that season he dallied on the ball too long and booted it off a player and into his own net. Also, put in a horrendous performance against QotS at home in a game we were beaten 2-3. Colin McMenamin's debut.
  6. Fair enough - I can see there's no way of changing your mind on the matter. We'll just need to agree to disagree. Sooner we're back to discussing McPake's winter (?) signings for the new season, the better!
  7. We couldn't have given a vote either way for any guarantee like that. We were guaranteed it'd be discussed and we've now got an appointee on the group discussing it with it being led by one of the few club leaders who NEED reconstruction to save their club.
  8. This 25 point thing is nonsense. Why do we need to hold a grudge over something that happened 10 year ago when many of the people involved are no longer involved with them clubs and the league organisation then doesn't even exist anymore? Should we be judged forever more on the actions of Melville, Di Stefano or Angus Cook? Possibly is too soon to say Nelms done well and the only reason I ramp up that rhetoric is due to the fact that there's some outrageous shouts from people (Not just NDD) saying they won't return due to his actions etc when he's done very little wrong other than trying to get us the best deal. Whether that pans out or not is out of our and his hands, but it won't have been for a lack of trying.
  9. Now you're pulling a RandomGuy and acting like mystic meg! You're likely to be right - but that doesn't make what Nelms done as a negative that some are painting it as IMO. In the grand scheme of things, his delaying of the vote (Or whatever you want to label it as) won't have an impact on us either way. But will it have had an impact on the discussions around our game? Potentially, yes and potentially not. Better than nothing IMO.
  10. Because clubs were being starved of the money. We either took our time to vote yes or no but we couldn't wait it out for the full time period denying clubs funds for that amount of time. No need for the snide comment at the end tbh.
  11. Absolutely not. What pantomine? We're involved in discussing the future of the game in Scotland. If you mean the likes of Dodds and other media personalities having a pop at Dundee/Nelms - Who gives a f**k about them?!
  12. Yet no-one else done this. Nelms has prompted discussion and secured himself a place on the task force to try and sort this. He's done well so far. He needs to help finish the job off though.
  13. What else could have he done with the position we were in?
  14. Dave McEwan. There used to be highlights of the game Dunfermline won 5-0 in 2005. Can't find them anywhere. Worst goalkeeping performance I've ever witnessed in professional football from Derek Soutar.
  15. I don't think Nelms has done much wrong other than pieing Scot Gardiner and Gerry Britton. And that's 50% of a good thing.
  16. Billy Dodds and Tom English taking pot shots at Nelms: https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/5506789/rangers-dodds-nelms-spfl-dundee-assistant/
  17. Doubt anyone will be overly interested in this, but on the off chance there is:
  18. Ann Budge seems to always talk a lot but say very little. And yet still manages to make a c**t of herself at least once. It's an impressive trait.
  19. Best - Rab Douglas, Julian Speroni, Michel Pageau Meh - Ludovic Roy, Scott Bain (In with the best for his first season, in with the worst for the rest of his spell so averages out), Jamie Langfield, Kyle Letheren, Steve Simonsen, Conor Hazard, Elliot Parish, Scott Murray, Tony Bullock, Billy Thomson, Scott Fox Worst - Jack Hamilton, Kelvin Jack, Marco Rocatti, Derek Soutar & Craig Samson. Only including players that had a regular stint in goal so not including the likes of Schenk etc. If I've not included them in the list then sage to say they're that 'meh' they've been forgotten about. The meh list isn't all equal. Some extremely more meh than others.

  21. Any combination of their commentary is better than anything WWE's had since erm, JR & King back in the mid 00's. JR Schiavone Tazz Excalibur (The mask annoys me - I have to say) Goldenboy Are all better than anything WWE have to offer (Except Mauro).
  22. And the top guys don't make up for 'most' of the roster.
