Was wondering when was the last time we scored a league goal while playing toward the South Stand ?

If i have got it right, it was Xmas eve, last year against the Dons  🤔

As someone who sits in W1, it would be nice to see a goal for us close up for a change instead of a 100 yards away  🤓

    Crazy stat if true 😂.

Could well be right though. Struggling to remember any goals after that.

The best goals were scored into the South stand last season. Tait's v County, O'Haras beauty v the Perth Saints and of course Kiltie's.

Was it you that compared him to Richie Foran?

There are starting to be similarities between us and ICT when they went down.

Former cup winning manager (Hughes) saddles club with huge, unsustainable, wage bill, and leaves due to the obvious decline thats causing. Former striker, with aggressive streak on the pitch, takes charge (Foran) on a long deal and promises exciting attacking football. They oversee a large rebuild with 10+ departures/lots of cheap punts as incomings.

They start off with 3 defeats in the league and Foran gives this interview, which is terrifyingly similar.

He increasingly loses it as the season goes on before leaving after their relegation.

He's giving me Gary Teale vibes after we sacked Tommy Craig, after letting Danny Lennon go.

Can only do so much with what you have got, he said the squad he has isn't good enough and need help by bringing players in, maybe a wee dig at them to up it, question their ability, it can obviously back fire quickly if they take the huff.

Looks like a car crash in slow motion just now, do the board take the risk and throw more cash at it? I'm not a believer that relegation means fresh start ect, that division can be a nightmare to get out of, especially if your squad is full of shitebags.

I don't think it's a case of opposition teams "shitting the bed 1st half". It's our pressing, high energy style of game that is at it's best for 45-60m before fatigue kicks in. Strain was knackered yesterday but had to stay on and the Dundee subs exploited that. It's going to be a squad game this season with this style hence why we will probably see more squad shift in and out before the window closes.

Still can't believe Dundee let us do what we are best at. If Docherty didn't know (red flag right away) then surely Shaughnessy and Carson tell him in the lead up to this game, don't let them get balls into the box.

Yeah when you compare our bench to this time last season we had more variety of options. We are a bit top heavy just now.

Hemmings probs MOM. Penalty save and another beauty when McCowan clean through.
Might as well just hand Sainties the league title now, you’re clearly world beaters. I mean you’ve just beaten a scratch team that’s just been promoted with an own goal and a missed penalty.

Yous should know by now this league is all about fine margins.

Doesn't matter how you get the points as long as you get them.

The sooner we get to 30 odd points the sooner we can look up the way.

We aren't world beaters but we are effective. You should probably be concerned that your manager didn't have a clue how we were going to play in the first half, not even mentioning there is 2 ex players of ours who know fine well what we are about.

Robinson was saying he was by far our best player, which I took as a nod to Trevor Carson.

I thought Hemming was good, seemed a bit hesitant at the goal, then there was a bit of a communication issue with Bolton at one point. But other than that he did well. He took a few tricky crosses in a crowded box and had a good stop with his feet. I didn't feel that Dundee tested him much though.

Probably said that to get at Carson. Good penalty save, made easier due to the fact it was a badly taken penalty but the goalkeeper still has to keep it out.

McMenamin looked streets ahead of everyone today imo.

Think we went to defend our lead and invited the comeback. Why not keep going for the 3rd. I know we did in a way, but we did sit in more.

Similar patterns to last season. Go gung ho for the first goal, try and kill the game. Once we get ahead we are a tough team to play against but when it gets to the 60 minute mark fatigue starts to show.

Baccus, Strain, McMenamin were all done long before the end. Tried to conserve a bit of energy.

Perfect situation for Olusanya to come on and cause havoc, which he did. Drew a couple of good fouls ect. Grieve got stuck in.

After the first half it would have been daylight robbery for Dundee to get anything from the game but they kept at it and nearly did get a point.

    Aye yous looked great? Twat

In the first half yes. It was either us being great or Dundee being rotten. Either way the game should have been over by half time but credit has to go to Dundee, played better in the 2nd half and pinned us in the last 25-30 mins when we had pretty much ran our race.

  8. Either Docherty hasn't done his homework on us, blanked Shaughnessy and Carson or they just can't handle the way we play, but this is carbon copy of what we done to several teams last season.

The good thing for us now is Tanser is currently back on form, Strain is still Strain but we have McMenamin causing havoc now too.

We get the ball wide and fire balls into the box. Only Killie and Dundee last season really prevented us from doing that.

    Calm down, jeezo.

To be fair to him the tone was set for this thread on the very first post 😂.

McMenamin is looking good right enough. Both wing backs putting in great balls too.

We done this to most teams last season, really suffocated them with crossing and pressing.

Need to score more while we are on top.

Oh, deary me. Dundee have five major trophies and Utd only have higher attendances due to free tickets for the Primary schools and Sheltered housing residents so they can knit and have a fortnightly sing along to Love is in the Air and Beautiful Sunday.

As for Dundees away crowds we've routinely outnumbered you lot, including the season Tommy Craig took you down.

If I was from Paisley I'd never have the brass neck to go on about embarrassments. Hand on heart Paisley is one of the largest sinks of deprivation in Scotland and epitomises Scotlands current struggles.

    Thank you.

Speaking of relegation, I remember Cody Cooke banging in a hat trick at an empty Dens Park when there was actually more away fans than home fans that day.

Hard to get all these relegations mixed up. Remember Charlie Adams assist a couple of years ago? In front of that massive away support 😍.
