Anyone else’s iptv playing up
My pals watching Hibs TV. Said there's no issues.
Well apart from Stuart Lovell talking absolute shite.

Trev might be a bit rusty going into his debut against us.....
His last game was 3 months ago and, given Docherty's quote above, have to assume he wasn't part of the preseason GK training led by Jamie Langfield.
Can't believe we got a fee for him. Was looking like we were going to have to pay him off .

So glad proper football is back. Tough to call our line-up today: already dictated by injuries to an extent. While we're clearly shaping up for a 3-4-3, I do wonder if he'll go for the extra midfielder as we're away to a strong side.
So I'm going with this:
-------Fraser - Gogic - Taylor --------
Strain - O'Hara - Baccus - CBM - Tanser
--------Mandron - McMenamin ---
Though not sure if McMenamin is fit so maybe Nahmani. The defence gives me the fear a bit, but not sure we have a lot of options. Might he go for Dunne instead of Gogic for the pace?
Strain and Tanser will have their hands full with Boyle (if he starts onviously) and Youan. Hibs look a different team with Boyle playing.
Nahami was injured during the week, was he not?
I think Gogic is the better choice for the middle of the back 3 than Dunne but we miss him in the middle of the park.
Ideally you are hoping Robinson is spouting shite in the press and we'll see Bolton and Nahami available, not trusting a word he says now . Baccus made a bit of a miraculous recovery .

We need to first and foremost make sure we do not gift the game to Hibs like we did after the split, no stupid mistakes, everyone on their game.
Hemming will be busier than he has been in the league cup, the defence will need to be switched on at all times, there's more pressure on Mandron to take his chances ect.
Excited and anxious.

That was a bit mental from Phillips there. Hearts boy was going nowhere. Think he got away with that one because of the conditions, seen red cards given for they kind of challenges last season.

‘Aye, winning games is shite’
The standard response of every Celtic and Rangers fan when asked that question.
Then is a masonic/Catholic conspiracy when they actually do lose.

County haven't even been that bad and Celtic haven't been that good.
Probably concerning for the rest of the league.

Big Dec strolling it for Utd. Still got his stupid hairband though
He should cigar that league.
Good move for him and United. May regret it if they come up next season though, they seemed to have signed up a lot of good championship standard players that may not make the step up, if they get promoted.

Good luck Hibees .
Do it for the McGinns.

When a better keeper is available for a steal I don't see why we don't take it
McCracken has looked OK but seems to suffer from same issues of being routed to goal line
A 6 figure sum is hardly a steal. We'd have paid him off in 2 weeks had he not found a club.
Similar to the Gallagher to United deal though, works out well for everyone. He's still a good goalkeeper and has a lot to offer at this level, we get money and a high earner off the wage bill for a player that was never going to kick a ball for us again.

Tanser was excellent yesterday, he gets a lot of stick but he’s a good footballer, really tidy on the ball and technically very good.
He improved vastly after Small came in on loan to give him a bit of competition/rest.
Wing backs the hardest shift on the pitch. Especially with the way we play.

Got to be pleased with another 4-0 win. A bit miffed we are unseeded for the draw but that's entirely our own doing.
Prefer Ayr away, we seem to have their number. Don't want Airdrie at home or away after last summer.
I'll be amazed if we still have Strain by the end of the window and feel a tad guilty, he's far too good for us and this league.

Forfars GD has taken a battering, they might not even qualify now. Currently the scores are in their favour but if Thistle and Livi go ahead in their games (which is expected) they could be in trouble.

If Bolton is a stand out and fit. Offer him a longer contract during the season. That way we get money for him
We can offer him all we like, sadly he doesn't have to sign anything.
Sounds like he'll be another one to enjoy whilst he is here type player, if he stays fit.
Definitely sounds like an upgrade on Gallagher though.

MacLean's excuse of not having signed many players because he was appointed late is weakened when Tony Docherty, a manager officially appointed 2 days after him, has made 11 signings so far. Now, these players might turn out to be rubbish, granted, but just a bit of a weird card for MacLean to be using.
From the outside it looks like the Perth Saints only have enough space in their squad for a few more if that, that's after shedding so many already. MacLean needs to get every signing spot on, no room for error.
Where as Docherty has had to pretty much build his from scratch with a small number of players being kept on, if I'm not mistaken? So he can afford to be a bit more hit and miss with a certain percentage of his signings.
Will be interesting to see how the 2 rookie managers get on.
I am assuming Killie will be better this season and Motherwell will keep up their good form under Kettlewell, albeit they have lost KVV who was winning them points on his own.

I only went to Love Street once, a cup game im sure we won 3-1 in like 2006.
Jumping to celebrate goals had me convinced i was about to land a few rows forward
We got absolutely battered that night.

I originally started off in Cairters corner then the Love St terracing and ended up in the NB at the end.
Just an amazing stadium. Really is a crying shame we had to move.
We got the free tickets off the school and were housed in the Caley stand. I wasn't the fud that threw the toilet roll at our keeper that time was it Alan Combe in goals? We went 2-0 against Stirling Albion, came back and won 3-2 I think.

Aye Dorman scored for us im sure. They were in the First Division as well.

IIRC he was out of League football within a coupla years strange to think us Saints fans are likely the only ones to remember him these days.
51 minutes ago, Dirty Sanchez said:Gordon Strachan was there that night, because we were playing Celtic in the next game, and he commented that the guy might as well retire because he was never going to top that goal.
This video doesn't really do it any justice.
On a seperate note - Love St . The view from the Caley stand will never be beaten for away fans.

Forfar almost certainly through already as they’ll be one of the best runners up even if they lose to us.
Not sure if that is in our favour or not?
An early goal tomorrow to settle everyone would be nice. If we aren't winning in the first 20 I can see the boo boys having a field day.
On 25/07/2023 at 22:01, CambieBud said:This is not new. I was at Forfar when we got humped 5-1 years ago. East Kilbride a few years ago, when we won on penalties. Plenty of others over the decades. I have always feared any lower league side away, St Mirren just don’t blow these sides away. Never have done
I remember sitting in the northbank right behind the East Fife player who rattled in a complete worldly in off the bar when they beat us 1-0.
Its definitely nothing new for us and other Premiership teams. I'm not expecting 5-0s in every game but we should be qualifying from this seasons group and last seasons group without too much drama. Just one of they things.
