I think hes only ever been any use off the left wing, in a front 3, tbh. Even at Arbroath he was playing off a striker. If anything he'd only be worth signing to play alongside Main.

FWIW i think Main will be a bigger miss than folk think. A striker who can play up front alone and be a real, physical, focal point is key for this league i reckon. He gets a hard time (admittedly not from your own support who seem in the main to appreciate him) but he'll be one you'll only real miss when hes not there.

Replacing him well will be a tough job.

Main has been integral to the way we play this season.

Whether or not this means Robinson will now have to change the style a bit to adapt with life without him next season.

A bit of the unknown for next season already now. Will we get Watt in, will we shift Brophy on, will Ayunga come back as good as he was pre-injury. Key area of the pitch too.

Main leaving would be a bit of a surprise, and dare I say it a stupid move from him. Robinson quite obviously manages to get the best out of him, and we all seen the sort of performances Main was putting in last season; there wouldn’t have been a single St. Mirren fan disappointed to see him go based on those performances. He’s had a good year but he’s not irreplaceable, and although his work rate has been a factor in our success this season, he still lacks a bit of quality when it comes to actually putting the ball in the net. Would be sad to see him go but it wouldn’t be the end of the world imo.

It's a short career and he won't be able to retire for life after what we have been paying him.

Probably his last chance at a good pay day .

Will leave as a hero, where as if Goodwin was still here he'd probably have been offloaded last summer. It's a crazy sport.

I still feel sick to be honest, more so than Saturday. I've always dreamt of seeing us play a European tie and have never been lucky enough to do so.

This isn't something that comes around every season and lets be honest, even if we do consolidate and establish ourselves long term as a top flight club, there's no guarantee we'll be in a position like this again in the next 5 years (though I hope we are through good planning) so it does really feel like a watershed moment.

Look at Partick Thistle, they finished top 6, relegated the following season then found themselves in league one 2 seasons after that.

Nothing is guaranteed after the summer. As you say, enjoy it while it lasts.

Who knows, with a bit of a rebuild required in the summer, we may get even better.

How much does a new passport cost these days?

    About 8-9 months.

Aye, if you had ordered it in August you'd maybe have a chance 🙈. You can pay through the nose for an express one though, pretty sure you can get one within a week, and pay even more for one on the same day.

I've still got a few years left on my EU passport 😍

Can totally see us finishing 5th and fucking Falkirk winning the Scottish cup though 🤢.

We know the reason for the delay. It’s all about two teams and no other club fcuking matters to those cnuts.

You just know SKY TV reps and Police Scotland are sitting at a table arguing like f**k why the first game after the split should be/shouldn't be an old firm game.

Anyone still think we should budget for 11th next season?

    Speculate to accumulate.

To attract better players you need to pay that bit extra. We have got some real assets in the squad now.

I don't want us spending wrecklessly though, it appears Robinson has worked wonders with cut backs and having to sell players in January, that could easily have cost us top 6 this season.

Expecting Motherwell and United to be better next season, so we will need to improve if we want to challenge again.

No chance of 3rd place now, some turn around from Aberdeen. Got to begrudgingly respect that, sadly.

You're being super naive if you believe that.

It's a fairly common time wasting tactic.  When you're making a sub anyway, the guy that's being subbed sits on the deck and gets treatment to eat up a bit more time.

Killie were actually wasting time from kick off, which surprised me. Made me think you'd have been happy with a point before KO.

To be fair we time wasted like f**k at Rugby Park, and in pretty much every other game we have been leading in this season 😂.

There's no real element of being "fucked over". We have played 17 at home and 16 away pre split. The intention is 19 each by the end of the season so we should be due 3 away and 2 home post split regardless of who we "are due" H & A.

I meant we'll somehow end up with 1 home and 4 away to appease some old firm nonsense 😂.

So we have played Hibs and Celtic twice at home.

Rangers, Hearts, Aberdeen all once at home? We will have to play one of them away, ideally take the hit and go to Ibrox again?

All the 'Killie weren't great' or 'Killie didn't need to play well' posts, seem a bit sour grapes.

Kilmarnock were hardly going to come and play free flowing total football but they were still excellent. They defended resolutely - Taylor won everything - they controlled the midfield, won every loose ball, and they had a couple of chances to score more.

Killie were brilliant yesterday and I'm actually glad Robinson mentioned that in his interview after the game.

We weren't at it, alot of that was down to how they played.

We have done that to several teams this season and have been a bit annoyed at not getting the praise we deserved so it's only fair we do the same to Killie.

Based on just their games against us they should be better off position wise but they obviously haven't cut it in alot of their other games, especially away from home.

Not for me. If we'd pulled a performance like we did against Motherwell on day one and peppered Killie, losing a snidey goal on the break and finding a keeper in all sorts of heroic form, I'd tend to agree.

But we were soundly beaten today by a team who wanted it more and showed up when the cards were on the table. No complaints on that front from me, I won't be looking back and saying 'what if'.

There are two things that give me a bit of solace going into this home stretch:

    1) The week off - you feel with the late collapse last week and the no-show today, the players probably need a bit of space and this break of a week has come probably at a really beneficial time for us. Hearts looked good today (albeit against dreadful opposition) but have still not been in strong form and Hibs have also been shaky so there's still plenty to play for with everyone still to meet everyone else.

    2) I strangely feel more comfortable watching us playing teams like Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen than St. Johnstone, Killie and Ross County as the onus is on them to come at us and break us down. We willfully surrender a lot of possession to play to our strengths but when we have the lion's share of the ball, we're just not at the races as much. The last 5 games are going to be 30-35% possession showings in every game and I'm much more comfortable with that as it has turned up the best results for us this season. We're pretty efficient when we don't have the ball as what little we do have with it, we make work. It's when you give us the ball and let us have a wee think that everything goes tits up it seems.

Yeah, that's fair enough. There is 33 games to look back on and say what if as well, Robinson made a good point on the radio, the players earned the right to put in that kind of performance, over 33 games we have been good enough for the top 6. To expand on the mixed emotions and to try and not bring the mood down 😂 up until yesterday 3rd place was very much achievable, depending how the Dons get on today it still might be but it would take them collapsing, which I can't see happening.

I don't fear anyone in the next 5 games though, let's see how it goes.

Given how badly we defended against the blue arse cheek, I was surprised that we left our best defender on the bench yesterday.

I assumed Gallagher was still not fully fit, otherwise he is one of the first names on the team sheet. Shaughnessy had been playing well up until the last 10 at Ibrox last week so fair play to Robinson for staying loyal to him but in hindsight he is starting Gallagher and Small yesterday.

Tanser and Dunne couldn't cope with Armstrong at all.

To be fair the game was over by the time Small came on. He is only 18, he lost it, stupid aye but he will learn from it. If we didn't make top 6 today it wouldn't have been down to him.

Seen this coming a mile off. Too many experienced ones off it today. Nobody took the game by the scruff of the neck for us.

Well done Killie, better team by far today, and the previous visit to Paisley. Definitely our bogie team this season.

Well done to our manager, staff, board and players though. Top 6 is a great achievement, didn't look likely at the start of the season, we are craving something much bigger though.

Hopefully we show up for these 5 cup finals.
