  1. Matty Willock available to play in today’s game. International clearance has been received, so let’s give him some game time. I would expect to see at least 3 more arrivals before the flag day next sat.
  2. What part of a simple post did you fail to understand ? The reason I don’t care about this cup competition is because we are basically out of the running to qualify. We’re also miles off the pace and my main concern is for the new manager to prioritise recruitment of new players, while he continues to try and gel the team together in what effectively amounts to pre season games.
  3. I couldn’t give two fucks about the league cup. I’m only interested in Stubbs signing players of sufficient quality in order for us to compete in the league campaign.
  4. I think the last part of what you said is closer to the truth. If both are fit then they’ll get a game until suitable replacements are signed.
  5. Stubbs definitely not my choice for the job, but he’ll get until at least the first quarter of league games to assemble and improve the squad. It’s vital we stay up and I get the distinct impression that GLS won’t hesitate to bag him should we be anchored to the bottom of the league by October.
  6. I spoke with somone who was chatting to Coulson’s dad at one of the recent games. By his fathers own admission he’s not a left back, he’s a winger.
  7. Let’s be honest I haven’t spoken to so many pessimistic fans since the Tommy Craig debacle. Yes we need to give Stubbs time to assemble his own squad and see how they perform in the first quarter. But the early signs are not good. The players signed so far look nowhere near as good a standard as some of the ones released from last season’s title winners. Stubbs has a mountain to climb if he’s going to win over the fans with what’s been done up to now.
  8. We always knew that he was a natural goal scorer, he just had to get his around fitness issues in the modern game are crucial. Good luck to him as he could end up with a decent career if he stays fit.
  9. Meanwhile on black & white army someone posting that we have two strikers incoming, one costing 100k ........
  10. There’s absolutely nothing to worry about folks, we’ve managed two consecutive draws with a lowland league outfit and a league 2 team, and scored 1 goal from open play in both games.
  11. I reckon a large percentage of our fans will be concerned with Stubbs recruitment up until now. He will of course be given time to sign at least 4 players with sufficient experience that will enable us to compete at this level. If he doesn’t get the necessary players on board, and we end up rooted to the bottom of the league then that’s a different matter.
  12. Watch his post match interview from yesterday,he’s like a rabbit caught in the headlights with absolutely nothing to say. The feel good factor about the club is slowly draining away as he signs non league diddies who are clearly not up to the required standard for this level.
  13. Can’t see anything other than a comfortable win for Sunderland tbh. There’s to be an unofficial minutes applause for young Saints fan Ben Thomson who tragically died in a drowning incident the other day. This will happen in the 14th minute to signify his his young age.
  14. He must be regretting those comments now. We definitely need 4 or 5 quality players on board.
  15. Someone on twitter saying that we have Martin Patterson ex Stoke and Burnley forward on trial.
  16. From non league English football to the Scottish Premiership is a bit of a Jump in standard, some of these guys like Cook and Kellerman will need game time and a chance to see if they are capable of adjusting. League games are where they will stand or fall.
  17. Filling the squad with non league players is a calculated gamble on Stubbs part. Will he be able to sign 4 or 5 decent quality players now that we’re reaching the point where the squad needs to be strengthened before the league starts.
  18. I reckon there are more than a few waiting for Stubbs to fail. The time for us to judge is when he’s assembled his squad and we’ve reached the first quarter of games. That’s when we’ll have an idea of how things will pan out for the season.
  19. I don’t think that there is there any doubt that these games are basically pre season efforts. Having said that the early signs are not encouraging. We need at least 5 decent quality signings if we are to compete at this level. I get the feeling that there are quite a few fans who are not happy with the signing policy so far.
  20. We’ve produced some of the best young players in the game up here but sold them for peanuts, it’s about time we got a decent return on at least one.
  21. He was very composed on the ball and despite his lack of game time he looked very confident. Once he’s gained full fitness then I would say he will be a first pick centre back choice. I guess it will take more than 9 mins for him to gain full fitness
  22. If that’s him 70% fit then we’ve got a player on our hands then.
