I hear it was an informal chat at the airport JR had with someone representing Sunderland. He’s obviously going to get an offer at some point, he might as well take advantage of his stock being pretty much at a high point. Good luck to him I hope it happens soon.

Agree with everything you say, it’s just hugely frustrating that while we all acknowledge the miraculous job that JR has done with us, we also have to be a bit selfish in regards to our clubs interests. I dont think anyone in their right mind would reasonably deny JR the chance to move on and better his own career, it’s the fact that we are in limbo while all this speculation rumbles on. It’s definitely affecting our player recruitment and it will affect season ticket sales due to the uncertainty of who is going to be at the helm. JR is now on holiday so it could roll on another week or so.

If JR was going to be offered the Ipswich job then it would have all been done and dusted by now. The fact is that Lampard and another couple of big names are ahead of him in the running. JR and Paul Hurst will be 3rd or 4 th choice by now. Hopefully we get something official from the club to clarify his position soon as possible, allowing us to get on with preparation for next season.

Div tweeting that JR had another meeting with Ipswich today and that he’ll be announced over the weekend or Monday latest, as their man.

He’s the best of the current crop of managers who are out of work. But there are rumours that he’s heading back to a role at Hearts.

Fair point, for various reasons GLS and the board could be thinking along similar lines. It could well be a bit soon for Goodwin to make that step up, but the other names out their are just frightening.

They were all telling us it was too soon for Jack Ross, that one went well, get Goody in as soon as Ross departs for Ipswich.

Some suggestions that Ipswich will be going for a European manager in the local media down there. Hopefully they do and it lets us get on with plannng for the season ahead.

Probably think about that one when it’s confirmed that JR is definitely going, but there are no outstanding names that currently fill me with any optimism from the usual list of candidates.

McIntyre would be a terrible appointment if Ross does leave. We can do far better.

My feeling is that Ross is taking the Ipswich job if he’s offered it. For everyone involved with St Mirren then let’s hope it’s all done and dusted pretty damn quickly. We need a new man in place to start the rebuilding process for next season. Robbie Neilson would be my choice.

He would be my choice of those available. But I can’t help admire the job Hopkin has done at Livi.

Craig Samson signs a new 2 year deal. Sammy has been outstanding this season and thoroughly deserves his new deal.

Lewis Morgan has scored 18 goals this season, he’s a winger who has terrorised defenders at this level. He’s gone to Celtic where he will become an even better player. You don’t need to bulk up much if you have the ability that he has.

Confirmed in the PDE that Scott Walker is back at the club in a coaching capacity. Must be true then.

Jack Ross is the deserving winner of manager of the year. What an incredible 16 months he’s had.

The two goals against Hibs and the one against Morton stand out but he always gave it his all and leaves with a winners medal. Great character in the dressing room and around the club.

I would not be surprised to see Jack Ross in for him if you guys don’t make it through the play offs. He’s been very impressive every time I’ve seen him.
