I can’t see any perspective manager taking on a gig without the promise of having at least some kind of indication of what his budget constraints might be. Taking on a newly promoted team is a risk for any manager to take, Neilsen is boxing clever here and has done nothing wrong in that sportsound interview.

Managers and players talk to other clubs all the time, it’s a business at the end of the day. It’s only fans who remain loyal to clubs, managers and players come and go. I’ve got no issue with Jack Ross leaving for a bigger gig down south as he’s earned it. The man has done a magnificent job with Saints and I’ll always be grateful for the work he’s done. We move on and quickly appoint his successor, hopefully Robbie Neilsen.

I would imagine Livi will be able to hang on to the majority of players who might have been leaving had you guys not won the play off. Some achievment to win back to back promotions with such a small budget. It restores some faith in the game when you see it’s not always about the money. Fighting spirit and togetherness was second to none all season. You cant put a price on those qualities.
