1. Take the r and t out of that surname and what do you get? Might need randomguy to help answer.
2. I get it. Minsk, Alaskkert, Trakai - I was mocked mercilessly for likening the latter to Cowdenbeath. For five minutes at home that’s exactly what they looked like. Then, for no apparent reason, we fell back and struggled thereafter. Many talking about being unprepared but didn’t someone say nomads season hasn’t started yet either? Before Clarke, Kilmarnock were fighting relegation for years. He took almost the same hopeless group of players to third. What will happen now?
3. Diddies. Hilarious. “SSC” and all the bragging undone in one half.
4. I came by to see, you know, what Aberdeen fans were thinking about signings and how the season ahead might go for them. It didn’t take long to think I was still in the St Johnstone thread.
5. The amount of times the bbc mentioned lionesses in their app’s match report was ridiculous. Lionesses devour their prey. This lot were more like kittens.
6. It’s ridiculous. Liam should be straight in there. Even IF Joe returns.
7. If you recall Gordon you started it when you told me to get myself to somewhere after I, with no alterior motive, referred to the manageress! We’re even now I was also thinking that Kerr herself played hundreds of games, as did her assistant (still Andy Thomson?). You’d think between them they’d have enough playing match experience (over close to 1000 games) to have a wee think to themselves at 3-1 and put a plan in place to see it out.
8. I can understand that right enough, but I’ve never been a fan of the loan system. I’m not a fan of transfer windows either, where clubs lose players who’ve been decent for a few months then they’re gone.
9. I’m with you on this. Imagine your team score but you have to wait 1-2 minutes to find out if it will stand! No thanks.
10. Well of course not. Your response fails to allow for him simply not talking her up in that manner. He could have said she has done well in qualification and we look forward to seeing how far she can take the team. And stop there. I don’t consider it wise for him to have continued on. I did say so at the time, not just after last night’s debacle.
11. I only meant Kerr and in context of Maxwell’s comments. Otherwise we’re back to the same old blazers mentality and the parochial way the SFA has been run. Once someone gets in the door they never seem to be shown out of it. If an alien/African/Asian/Muslim/English person/woman/gay person/small person/ginger person (what have I missed?) managed the team, and managed well, I’d have little to say except well done. Shelley Kerr failed, hugely in my opinion. Same as McLeish did. So, whether man or woman, if they fail, they’ve failed.
12. Yes, but we can’t escape the reality of what happened. How men fared in their first WC is utterly irrelevant to this. Managed correctly, that was as near to an unassailable position as a Scottish National team could probably reach. First World Cup or not, that we lost a 3-0 lead in 15 minutes is criminal and is a reflection of naivety and exceptionally poor game management from the manager, man or woman. If Tommy did that at St Johnstone we’d be furious. Only last week Maxwell was saying he saw no reason that Kerr couldn’t manage the men’s national team. I disagree and I hope that it never happens - for a number of reasons (none of which are to do with gender before our latest superhero defender of the oppressed, Gordon S, appears).
13. Ah, how chivalrous of you. A veritable knight in shining armour. Women the world over will feel so much safer and confident with you riding ahead forging their path. You are however somewhat prone to rushing in without thinking. No assessment of a situation, just leap to conclusions. You have no idea of intent in this case, and have demonstrated the same degree of ignorance and intolerance of which you protest. I showed my wife, two daughters and a few of their female friends and they said please thank Gordon, but we don’t need him in this instance, but he can be sure if we require his assistance to defend us in future we’ll be in contact with him.
14. You’re demonstrating quite the penchant for being offended. Of course, take issue with what someone says, but don’t respond in such an aggressive manner. It diminishes your tolerant attitude to naught.
15. We should never have been in such a position as to have been “cheated.” Through our own ineptitude (looking at the manageress) we created the conditions for our opponents to get the benefit they did. Our own fault. Entirely.
16. But Maxwell doesn’t see why Kerr couldn’t manage the men’s national team at some point?
17. Forfar don’t have a hedge, so Brechin
18. Motherwell asking £3m for Turnbull. 9 clubs interested it seems. How does that compare with Jason Kerr and Saints?
19. It’s descended into nonsense. As with sportsound everyone talking at once so you can’t hear what anyone is saying. Tired format of old stories and silly opinions from cosgrove and cowan. Boring. Don’t listen very much any more.
20. Randoom, this is the second time I’ve had to scold you in two or three days. I know Joe personally and some of his family too. I’ve met his parents, brother, sister, cousins. They’re a nice family. I spent half an hour with Joe on Saturday night. Do everyone a favour and drop the unholy amount of money and playing clubs against each other nonsense.
