  1. Agreed way past his best and never been the best of centre halfs.
  2. Stop wanting ex players to return, please. It's a big bad world out there with many a player available for transfer.
  3. Gullan is contracted to Hibs. We could only consider signing him if he was released and even then I think we need men next season and not boys. We need to start bullying teams and win the battle first before we win the game.
  4. Why do Raith fans always want ex players to return. Time to move on and get fresh players in. In 4 years time do we crave for Chris Duggan to return. Plenty of players out there and plenty that would sign for the club.
  5. Does this board actually look for any kind of investment. They appear to rely on the goodwill of the supporters clubs to provide small inputs of money, however what the club needs is a large investment. We were told that new floodlights would be put in this season so the pitch could be hired out every night, that's not happening as they are struggling to light the ones we have. The railway side would be developed at some point to raise money I take it that's just a dream.
  6. Sorry but very unprofessional if true to say to a select few. Surely the club would not just dump the better players we have to go fully part time. Vaughan when fit is worth money. Nisbet also worth money. Thomson maybe not but injured so unless he gets a payoff I'm sure he will hang onto his fulltime contract.
  7. 3 hours christ I drove to Blackpool in 3 hours and Centre Parks in 2.
  8. Crane played well tonight. Midfield shocking especially Barjonas. Buchanan can stay on the bench. Thought McKay did okay but McGlynn was asking him to cover far too much ground with no one on front of him.
  9. So you would basically keep a side that has failed this season at all levels. I would keep Vaughan as an injury free Vaughan would rip teams apart. I would keep Gillespie and build a midfield round him. Nisbet as he has shown he can score goals. I would also keep McKay as I still think with good coaching he will be a player. I would punt the rest and completely rebuild. First two players I would try and sign are Hendry if fully fit and try and bring Armstrong back as he is unlikely to get a game with Ross County in the SPL considering he has struggled for game time since moving. Evaluate all the kids and punt who won't make the grade no point carrying youth.
  10. I keep reading that its Barry Smith's team but if John McGlynn was in charge last May he would have kept Davo, Benedictis, Murray, Matthew's and obviously would have kept Vaughan. He would have jumped at the chance to sign Gillespie and no one can say that Thomson and Nisbet aren't good signings for this level. That's 8 players not leaving him much to play with budget wise . Perhaps Duggan, Wedderburn and Flannigan would have been replaced with 3 different players and he may have brought in a right back.
  11. With money tight and players already injured for the start of next season we need to think about a mass clearout including many of our youth that needed to make the step up this season and have struggled in reserve football.
  12. I wouldn't keep many at all. Probably keep Thomson, Murray, McKay, Gillespie, Nisbet, Vaughan. Review what youngsters to keep and add from new signings whether that is full time or a mixture of both part time and full time.
  13. We cannot rely on Lewis Vaughan to win us the league next season. For a start he will probably be playing catch up at the start of the season to get match fit and he may break down again. For me Davidson has to go, never been impressed with his attitude. Wedderburn to go just too slow and is unable to get in positions to chip in with goals which midfielders must do. Bene another that has gone backwards. Matthews may be a product of our youth but I still struggle to see what position he could command and I think managers are the same. Flannigan and Dingwall can both go along with Duggan who is just too injury prone. For me we need a couple of commanding centre halfs, and a midfield that will win the initial battle but then take us forward. Finally but McGlynn plays boring football and has shown this season that he just doesn't have it. I would love to see fresh new blood come in and no one with a Raith connection. We need to move on. In the summer I thought Barry Robson would be a great choice. He also comes with great contacts in the game.
  14. Can some one please tell John McGlynn to stop slavering the same crap during each interview and also ask the interviewer to give him some harder questions to answer than skirting around. It's becoming boring.
  15. Then your a nugget. Don't you remember how unfit he was for us, McKinnon trying his best to get him to lose weight. What I'm trying to say is yes we are piss poor but Arbroath have nothing that will put the fear into any Championship side that's how bad this league is. In none of my posts have I said we should be winning the league or have a good squad In fact i see them at Gym 64 prancing about like premadonnas, the worse one being Davidson closely followed by Benedictis and agree that a clear out is needed.
  16. I never said you weren't better than our squad, but please don't think that your squad is good, our side is poor as I've already stated. McCord , Thomson, Linn, Whatley, Graham will all struggle in the Championship. You've won the league but will be strong favourites for relegation next season regardless of new PT players being signed.
  17. Mark Whatley released by Raith as not good enough, Ryan McCord for being fat, slow and not good enough, Finn Graham released by Dunfermline for not being good enough and Jason Thomson albeit a great servant but nowhere near the player he was a few seasons ago. None of these players will be anywhere near good enough for the Championship.
  18. The problem is that Arbroath haven't got the strongest of Part time squads. Yes some players are good for this level but several are players released from clubs like ours. Not many will step up and perform week in week out next season. The problem we have is a very unbalanced squad, injuries and some players just not good enough. I also believe that some players including one of our centre halfs has a negative influence on the team. We also have a manager who will stick by his favourites and not make changes when required. As I said back when Smith left we should have gone with Barry Robson. A young manager with fresh ideas and perhaps an eye for a player or 2.
  19. Of course he's going to stick with the same back four. McGlynn likes experience over youth. When you see the players at the gym Bene and Davidson are never away from each other, McKay trains with the other youth players in the gym.
  20. Tony Rougier played 56 games for us, hardly inductee material. If you want to induct someone then Cammy Fraser should be inducted. He came to a struggling club and played 83 games and gave 110% in every game.
  21. I'm going on Monday night but I think the organisers may have to take a break as we are running out of players to induct. Grant Stott should be fine.
  22. He's certainly here, in the gym again today. There's also another player training with the first team, no idea who he is.
  23. I can confirm that it's not Joe Cardle but he has been released from a club down south.
  24. Most players in Gym 64 this afternoon, Lewis Milne and Chris Duggan missing. New player to be announced in the gym along with another young chap that I've never seen before. Clear that Liam Buchanan has been given senior player role as he appeared to be organising the players.
