  1. Thought Glasgow looked better this week, but it was against a much weakened Embra side. Wilson though has been going on for some time that the youngsters and fringe players are going to have a big part to play during the extended international window, I would have thought yesterday was the ideal time to give them a run out to get a bit of experience, last game of the season, nothing to play for, get 2 or 3 youngsters in with the old heads would have been ideal.
  2. In the same way we do for the Football, I htought it was high time (albeit Christie has already been touted on here) we started some "he plays in a foreign country he must be better than we have at home chat" for our young players playing abroad. The following caught my eye when checking out this summers rugby transfers Ewan Johnson moves from Racing to Vannes in ProD2 - 6'8 18stone 2nd row - Toonie get him called up now! https://all.rugby/player/ewan-johnson
  3. Can you imagine if Glasgow beat Embra tomorrow then got handed the semi place as Ulster couldn't play, scenes! Cockerill would be raging as hes desperate for Embra to be the top dogs in Scotland
  4. Its Leinster Ulster this week, which could be cancelled and wont effect the league table, but puts the semi finals in doubt the week after
  5. You pretty much answered your own question - TV money. Pro 14 got a decent enough wedge when letting in a couple of reserve teams from SA, bringing in the best teams from a country of 60 million will hugely increase the TV income not just from SA, but I think you would have increased global intrest in the Pro14. SA have complained for years that they were bringing in the most money to Super Rugby but due to the timezones were missing out on games - you dont have the same problem with Pro14 as all the games are in the same timezone
  6. Pro14 wont close the door on the SA teams, infact I wouldn't be suprised if once things settle down they make an offer to have all 6 SA teams, with 3 conferences of all 6 (one SA, one Welsh/Scottish and one Irish/Italian) play everyone in your conference H&A then everyone else once for 22 games.
  7. https://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/released-players-league-one-two-4229286 If anyone wants to waste a few hours!! I see the winger Reisse Alissani we wanted on loan from Coventry a few years backhas been let go, as has SCougall from Carlisle
  8. They were advertising it as Cardiff on Premier Sports graphics, but as both Millenium and Arms park are being used as part of the Covid hospitals I doubt it will be there. I have a feeling I heard it would just be the highest ranked teams home ground, so only one team is travelling rather than 2.
  9. Edinburgh started well (although a lot of silly penalties from Glasgow), but Glasgow much the better side last 20 minutes, thought Horne has been good so far
  10. Im sure Bryce is due to go back to the 7's squad - but I think Glasgow should be giving him the 15 shirt. Wilson has said that as the squad is short, and their are loads of internationals that a lot of youngsters will get their chance this year
  11. Reading the match preview there is a big deal over Jones playing full back, and Wilson making out he has no other options at full back. THat is except the fullback on the bench in Glenn Bryce, who I thought looked decent earlier in the season. I think Wilson is playing the squad is short of options card.
  12. They seem to signing someone new every week, so probably don't want a lot of people sitting round doing nothing. Although havoc had been on TV quite a bit lately the size of the tag division now is huge
  13. Still think we are short of at least one centre mid, with only Murdoch, Kerr and Miller. Murdoch just back from a serious injury, Kerr wanted to retire last January, and Miller spent all of last season at RB in League 1. Someone like McGinn would be ideal as would probably suit the formation that people have in their minds at the moment. Agree we still need a GK and a striker.
  14. Devlin starting for Livi though, with Forrest and Crawford on the bench
  15. Just looking at his stats he seem to only play a hand full of games 16/17 for Livi then nothing for season 17/18, then only 8 for Brechin 18/19 before signing for Raith. Was he out injured for over a season? Given he can cover a number of positions, he sounds like he is here as cover on the bench rather than a starter, but given he was a Scotland youth cap you would hope he is of a decent standard
  16. There is already strong evidence though that the origins of the flood myths date back to the end of the ice age, and the flooding of the black sea, 3000BC is already in the written records age so wouldn't be old enough for the sort of myth / legend era https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Sea_deluge_hypothesis
  17. Ross County v Livi is about the best we can hope for at the moment for keeping things interesting
  18. I would say Hearts are on a level with Dundee Utd and after giving them a skelping at their own place not so long ago I think the aura has rubbed off a litlle
  19. Was he not out for a while before he signed with us, or had not played for a while when he signed for us? Maybe just needs a good pre-season to get the best out of him? But as others have said hasnt looked up too much so far
  20. I've ready quite a few articles by UFO nuts that debunk Lazar, so if his own side think (and prove) he was making it up it doesn't really matter if he remains steadfast or not
  21. My comment was just in keeping with LC's fantasising, not suggesting its a short term option, more what could you do to stay where we are but substantially improve what we have
  22. If you could acquire the land behind the North Terrance I would turn the pitch 90 deg keep the current main stand but build a new main stand one along the railway end and extend the SRE along and round where the North Terrace is now
  23. I thought we would have had the extra home game being top 4 last year, we obviously need to be taking the SPFL to court over this unfair treatment!!!! Its a dark day when our club is treated this badly
  24. So is the season tickets going on sale all of this weeks Super Tuesday, or will there be an imminent at some point this afternoon?
  25. Granted its well over 30 years ago but I dont remember Purdie being that bad, but am willing to be corrected. I remember he was no where near as good as Watson, but dont remember him being really awful
