Fagerson was excellent, put Shoeman in his place all game. I think probably the best i've seen him. Jones looked much better as well, probably the best Glasgow have been this season

I think its the right time for Laidlaw to go. Price and Horne are both good scrum halfs so from a positional sense Im not too worried, (and for a few years he hasn't suited the way we want to play) we also have Pyrgos, young Dobbie and there are one or two others about if there is a crisis. I think the bigger loss is his leadership and his goal kicking. With Barclay standing down, and McInally out of form who do you turn to as captain? For me no one really stands out - you see potential captains in Matt Fagerson and Bradbury but I think they are still to young to get the gig now, but none of the older players really seem captain material. And goal kicking also, Russel is capable, but isn't first choice at his club, and Hogg could chip in but I think we could be missing points, when we need all we can get.

I only saw the first half of the game, so cant really comment on the 2nd half, but we started well, got the try, then completely took the foot of the gas. It was as if we thought that as La Rochelle had nothing to play for, losing a try would ensure the floodgates would open without having to put the effort in. Hastings put in a few decent kicks to get us teritory at the start of the game, but after we scored I dont think we had any ball never mind good field position.. I actually expected us to get hammered 2nd half so to finish 7-12 was better than I hoped for at half time. I dont think we are out yet, but thats only because there are 2 other pools where the 2nd placed team has already lost 2 also, however beating Exeter is going to be a huge ask for this team at the moment

I see Marfo has been released by Edinburgh - only 11 starts for them but 3 Scotland caps. I actually thought he was pretty impressive in his 3 games for Scotland, dont think i saw him play for Embra though

The perfect scenario for us would be as follows Next week La Rochelle have already flung in the towel as they cant qualify, and send over the reserves and we pick up hte 5 points and Exeter beat Sale. That would leave Exeter on 18/19 us on 14, and Sale on 6 or 7. Even if we lose to Exeter and Sale beat La Rochelle, we go into the last week with the situation that if Glasgow win we have a chance of going through as best runners up, but if Sale win they may finish 2nd but are extremely unlikely to progress. Given that I would think Sale would likely rest their best players after the Exeter game if they lose as they are not really playing for anything.

We were always taught to bring your knee up in front of you to help protect / balance yourself but that was a definite flick the boot straight out for no reason other than to try and catch someone

I think it probably is the correct call also. Better to bow out now than not be picked for the 6N squad, saves the questions and speculation etc. Im also sure he has got an eye on a media gig during the tournament also, i remember him being quite good while he was out injured.

Had a feeling that is what would happen. Im not convinced by Wilson either, but Wasps were deperate to snap him up when he left Cardiff, until the SRU poached him out of his contract there, so will see what happens. I wouldn't be suprised to see Wilson involved once the 6N's is finished in March, with Rennie slopping off end of April / early May.

That really should have been an excellent episode given what happened and the reveal at the end, but its getting harder to care. Probably one of the better episodes in the last few years, and if this had been in series 3 or 4 would have been massive - imagine if it had been someone from the Govenors people in the Prison, but i dont think anyone cares enough about the characters left to be bothered

Although Agen are 2nd bottom, they are only 5 points off of 3rd (Bordeaux and Lyon have a big gap at the top, Stade Francais are 7 points adrift at the bottom but 5 points between 3rd and 13th!!), none the less Im hopefully of an Embra win as usually the French rest there best players in the Challenge Cup to focus on the league (as normally its the clubs in the bottom half of the league in hte challenge cup and staying up is much more important than progressing in the cup). However if they do make it hte quarters, and they are safe in the top half of the league they start to take it more seriously. Not sure how Sales are doing at the moment, but Glasgow have been absolutely dire. The return of hte internationals, along with 2 wins against the worst 2 teams in the league in the Kings and Zebre has seen a definite and much needed improvement in form so will be interesting to see how that translates when facing a decent team. Im hopefully of a result if things click for Glasgow
