  1. 25% possesion, 27% territory says it all
  2. obviosuly Okeefe hasn't got the world rugby memo
  3. Its better if done in advance, but our case you have fans and players moving into the Typhoon hit area in the hope that the game is on
  4. The talk is of going to 6 groups of 4, then a last 16 before quarters, but that means the group games are every day with no days off until a gap between groups and last 16 so probably worse. Unless you look at moving 6N or RC the only option is holding in countries where you guarantee the weather in October / November
  5. My understanding is that the participation agreement stated that contingency plans were in place to deal with this sort of thing. However the contingency plans apear to be (rather than move the game given the 3 days notice) waiting to see how bad things are on the day then making a call.
  6. IMO its down to Gibbens being an extremely lazy openside - never first to the tackle, usually spends most of his time standing 10m away from any ruck hoping to get the ball to run at a back to look good, as if he puts in a few good breaks people dont notice how little work he does during games
  7. Thought the ref was excellent chalking off a Leinster try and sin binning 2 players. Edinburgh hooker was dreadfull, over throwing 3 or 4 times when they had good attacking opportunities. Leinster were no great shakes but had enough to get past Edinburgh
  8. If Ireland lose without a bonus point I will be fully behind cancelling the match though!!
  9. I none Typhoon related rugby news, the clusterf*ck that will be the Super 6's have announced the games where, for whatever reason they are playing some Welsh clubs https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/50006569 And the Glasgow team for their next loss vs Cardiff is as follows, Glasgow Warriors: Jackson; Steyn, Griff, McDowall, Hughes, Thomson, Frisby; Allan, Stewart, Nicol, Harley, McDonald, Flockhart, Gibbins (capt), M Fagerson. Replacements: Matthews, Thornton, Rae, Swinson, Fusaro, Dobie, Jones, Bryce.
  10. I see big Parisse has come out saying that if NZ had lost the first game vs SA, and were sitting behind IT on points difference or BP there is no way the game would have been cancelled and he has a point. I get Eng v Fra as who qualifies for the QF is not affected and they both get another game, but to lose your last chance to play at a world cup must be devastating. I expect Parisse would probably be looking at retiring from International duty, and wanting to bow out having given his all vs NZ but that chance has gone, and his last game will now have been a whimper vs SA, if he does retire Scotland situation is pretty mental, they had 3 days, just move the game somewhere else take action while you can not wait until a cancellation is forced on you
  11. I've ready both could potentially move, but call will be made tomorrow. There is even talk of delaying the scotland game until the Monday
  12. Scotland team, i think this means everyone has had a run at least, 2 backs in the subs is worrying if we are chasing tries though Scotland: Kinghorn; Seymour, Taylor, P Horne, Graham; Hastings, G Horne; Reid, Turner, Fagerson, Cummings, Toolis, Barclay, Brown, Wilson. Replacements: McInally, Berghan, Nel, Gilchrist, Bradbury, Ritchie, Pyrgos, Harris.
  13. If we can't beat Japan we don't deserve a place in the quarters
  14. I thought that being it was on Owen Farrell was enough of a mitigiation factor to make it a yellow?
  15. Probably, I was only half watching last night just remember Fagerson seemed to be doing the firing up and chats to players Probably too late then, I knew there were only 2 players playing in france, the big 2nd row and someone else so assumed he was still playing for Krasny or Einisei
  16. On strip watch - i noticed the commentators stated Australia used there away strip today as someone sewed the numbers on the wrong strips - they had mixed the 6 and 8 up so the home kits didn't fit, so had to use the spare away kit
  17. I dont know who is suppose to be captain, but from the bits and pieces I saw it was Fagerson doing all the talking during breaks in play. As has been said we've lost more players during 6N / AI's without much drop off in performance. ON thompson i think he's a decenet player, just doesn't suit the style of play. I wonder if swapping him and Jackson round would be a good move as Thompson has played well at 15 previously. Having watched the Russia games, we should be looking at trying to sign their openside, he looked imense against Ireland.
  18. 12 teams would be good, 6N and REC, 4 groups of 3, 2 pool games, semi and final could be done in 4 weeks
  19. The gap between Tier 1 and Tier 2 is never going to close until the Tier 2 nations start getting regular games against the top teams. If you take Fiji and Georgia as the 2 best Tier 2 nations (and I would class Japan as Tier 1.5 now - .5 as they are as good as Tier 1 just dont get to play with the big boys yet) man for man Fiji are better than Italy, Georgia forwards probably better, just there backs let them down at the moment. The problem they have is preparation time, and competition. All of Fiji's players and a good portion of Georgia's are playing at better club sides than Italy's players, so they are used to playing at a high standard in club games, but internationally they just dont get a chance. Georgia are stuck in the REC which is decent (Romania, Spain, Russia, Portugal etc) but are winning that easily every year but have started going backwards as there is no where to kick on to, except for the odd friendly in between world cups. Scotland are the first Tier 1 nation to go there and play, yet they have been in the top 12 countries in the world for the last 4 years. Fiji like the other PI's just dont have the money to get the players into camps like the big nations do. Scotland were in a camp for about 100 days on and off from the end of the season, Fiji had 2 months but that included PNC games in that time, and although they do get some decent fixtures in November, they struggle to get there best players released to play. These countries deserve a fairer crack of the whip in between world cups. There needs to be a more inclusive qualification rather than the top 3 in each group pre-qualifying and esnuring Tier 1's play more Tier 2's outside of world cups otherwise you just ensure the status quo.
  20. We had 12 full internationals playing last week and still looked woeful. Due to the world cup the league kicked off 3 weeks later than normal, so hte players have had either an additional 3 weeks holiday so should be fresher from the break, or 3 weeks extra training, so should be in better condition. Im hoping i was just the altitude that was a factor or we could be struggling this year.
  21. team for Friday night - suprised Frisby has kept his place seeing as he was hooked after 40mins last weekend. Thought it was even more noticeable last week how little Gibbins does without the ball Glasgow Warriors: Jackson, Steyn, Jones, McDowall, Hughes, Thomson, Frisby; Kebble, Stewart, Rae, McDonald, Swinson, Harley, Gibbins (capt), Fagerson. Replacements: Matthews, Allan, Nicol, Gordon, Fusaro, Dobie, Kelly, Bryce.
  22. Going on the "artistic" filming theme, anyone else think the first episode of the new series of TWD was tring to hard on the trying to look and feel like a comic book?
  23. Looks like Morgans gone as well now from Fear TWD
  24. Dundee teams cant travel to Aberdeen to play North junior teams?
  25. were lucky that Ireland (vs Russia) and Japan (vs Samoa) both have there third games before we play Russia, and Ireland play their last game against Samoa the day before we play Japan - I've no idea what happens if all 3 finish on 15 points - i am assuming points difference (as Ireland beat us, lost to Japan and we beat Japn?)
