  1. Bit of a waste of time and money, basically the figure in the logo looks a bit angrier
  2. This follows on from the excellent Titan's and Doom Patrol, also watched episode 1 which I thought was very good. All 3 series have a very different feel to them but for me are head and shoulders above the latest DC movies have been poor (Wonder Woman was excellent, Shazam passable and the rest fairly awful) and would put Titans and Doom Patrol on a par if not better then Gotham, Constantine and early Arrow from the TV DC stuff. For me as they are obviously aimed at an older audience they come across much better
  3. Some people really need to stop reading the drivel on the SRE, its self perpetuating doom and gloom We have lost 10 players from last years squad, 4 were definite starters, 1 of which was a loan player, 3 first team squad, again 2 were on loan, and 3 players that Higgins aside never kicked a ball all season We have made offers to 6 of last years team - 5 are the experienced players / getting on a bit and have been offered lower basic salary to free up some cash Kerr, and Bell have resigned. Only Moff would be considered a starter, Kerr, Bell and Geggan solid squad players and Adams will play a part at some point Only other players we are waiting on signing on again are Crawford and Moore. Obviously you are in a better negotiation position if you make noises of not having a lot to spend, then if we are offering decent wages it makes it look like we are pushing the boat out to sign someone, and agents are less likely to try and fleece us which they would if they think we can afford it. Getting a decision on Doohan early is critical, then we can focus on getting a CH and Forward then a winger, then you cna look at a replacement for anyone that doesnt sign on.
  4. very much luck of the draw in round 3, about half the top seeds are also in round 2 so potential for them to be knocked out and a lesser team takes their seeding. There are a few you would want to avoid (Roma, Feyenoord, Espanyol, Wolves), but for the most part their decent teams but if your not able to beat them you dont deserve to make the group stages
  5. So looking at the seeding for this years draw's, Celtic are seeded in every draw, but face 4 qualifying rounds to make the group stages, and in the Europa league, Rangers, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock are seeded in round 1, with Rangers and Aberdeen also seeded in round 2, but all are unseeded in rounds 3 and 4.
  6. Steyn and Cummings both in good form, Steyn was signed as a winger, but has played the majority of the time at centre, and Cummings also put in a fair shift in the Pro14 final. Grey Sr has been out for a while, and I thought he would have at least made the training squad, as he has been playing most weeks now although only seen him play the one game (SF vs Leinster where he got sin binned) and although played ok I didn't see enough to suggest he should get picked ahead of anyone else.
  7. Both Coventry and Reading currently share their artificial pitch with a rugby team and I think the new stadium in Bristol will as well.
  8. Coventry haven't been forced out theyve never been happy that they no longer have first dibs on the ground, and struggle with the concept of paying rent also
  9. No necessarily starting every game, but can see him and Moff sharing game time - Moff look out on his feet at the end of the season - would help him to stay fresh and also not put too much pressure on McCowan when we can drop him at times
  10. in the end we lost due to a charged down kick, if that had spun over the dead ball line we would have won, instead it spun back into play and Leinster score to get back in the game. Thats the fine margins against the 2nd best team in Europe. Shame for Hogg to go out like that, and hopefully Brown recovers quickly. Thought Fagerson was immense at 8, Steyn also looked good and should get a call for the training squad for Japan on the back of his last few games.
  11. Last season Moff was a guaranteed starter up top with Shankland, next season you would expect him to be relegated to sharing the no 10 slot with McCowan, so its fair enough if he wages on offer are slightly less. Although the overall budget will probably be quite a bit more than last season, I would assume McCall's wanting a slightly bigger squad given how the wheels came off this season. At a minimum we are needing 2 x Forwards 2 centre halfs, a keeper and a winger thats if everyone re-signs. I would also expect we may hold something back for January as being able to strengthen then is always key.
  12. Hope Brown isn't out to long, looks a sore one
  13. I think you might be right, of the few deals I've seen they all mention they are pre-contract agreements, I dont think you can actually sign anyone (re-signing is ok obviously) until the window opens again.
  14. 1st game is 13/14 th July in the Betfred, 3rd August for the league, we already have half a team signed up already, there are teams in our league with only 1 player so I dont think there is any reason for the full on panic. Its the same every year, the majority of players are on holiday end of May start of June, there wont be much news until we get closer to pre-season starting.
  15. Doohan has at least 5 caps for the U21's - you've taken his stats from his wikipedia page which is wrong. You might want to verify your stats before posting pish
  16. Why have some been offered less than the season just ended, not exactly a great reward for a brilliant season. Maybe they were seen as 1st choice last year, but are only deemed good enough for a place on the bench this year, due to age / past injuries / form?
  17. if you look at the summer transfer thread none of the other teams have done any more than we have, infact we probably have more players signed for next season than the majority of other clubs. We have told everyone who is being freed / leaving so assume everyone else out of contract has been offered terms.
  18. See Visser has decided to hang up his boots at 31
  19. Having looked at the list of released players, Greg Tonks appears to be at a loose end these days.....
  20. Bhatti going to Edinburgh to replace Dell, who has gone to London Irish as he cant get a game in front of Shoeman, not great all round, as i've seen London Irish have signed 2 or 3 other props over the last week or so so he might not get much game time there either. Does any have a list of Glasgow or Edinburgh signings for next year or a link for it? I know a few have been confirmed but I dont remember anyone that actually stood out.
  21. First time in years (as last year was a bit disappointing) that I've not heard any songs prior to the semi finals, from the clips shown the better songs seem to be in the 2nd semi final. Wasn't overly impressed with anyone in the first semi, obviously Australia have spent a load of money, song is just a disney number with a bit of added Kate Bush warbling, Czech rep was ok, Iceland was decent, but apart form that all a bit samey safe stuff - hoping for better tomorrow
  22. Disappointed that lots of Leinster didn't get injured
  23. I was having a think and it should be either Dunbar, Dean or Scott. We have one inside centre in Johnson, Taylor can cover if he is fit to go, and then you have Horne who will be there as he can cover Stand Off as well. At outside centre we have Jones and Taylor and the lad from Northampton, and Grigg / Harris, and wing you have Graham, Seymour and Maitland and again Taylor and harris can cover as could Kinghorn, who is probably better on the wing than fullback. I actually think Kinghorn could miss out. Hogg's a definite to start, I actually think Hastings is better at FB than 10 and Maitland and Seymour are more than adequate. The make up of the 31 will be interesting, its usually along the lines of (plus who i think will go, if everyone is fit, not who I think should be picked) 5 props (2 each side plus one that can cover both) - (Nell, Dell, Bergham, Fagerson, Reid) 3 hookers - (McInally, Brown, Turner) 4 second rows (Grey, Gilchrist, Toolis, Sinner) and usually someone like harley or skinner that cover 2nd row and backs 5 back rows (Watson, Barclay, Thompson, Ritchie, Bradbury) 3 Scrum halfs (Horne, Price, Laidlaw) 2 stand off's (Russell, Hastings) 4 centres (Johnson, Jones, Taylor, Harris) 3 wings (Graham, Maitland, Seymour) 2 Full backs (Hogg, Kinghorn)
  24. Cant think of any backs that will have any game time outwith those at Glasgow so would assume one of Jones / Steyn / McDowall / Hughes dependant on game time. Im suprised its only a 42 man training squad, given the world cup squad is going to be 31 players, and there are bound to be injuries given there are 4 warm up games, and at the tournament itself. I think I would have went for 60 player squad (ie 4 in each position) to ensure everyone was on board with game plan
  25. I took in one of the stages when the tdf was in the UK. Picked a village on the route that seemed quite accessible, got fleeced to park my car as it was chaos, had too walk up a huge hill in the scorching sun. I got there in what I thought was plenty of time, but missed the sponsors / freebie prosession. Stood about for a good 45 minutes to an hour, with a few waves of excitement when a car came round the bend. The riders eventually appeared and flew passed in about a minute except for a few stragglers. I still get the death stare from the wife and kids if I ever mention cycling..... so probably stick to eurosport as above A mountain stage somewhere could be quite good as the peleton will be spread out more, but yeah its one of those at least you can say you've seen it if nothing else.
