  1. Talking of commercial stuff, I quite like what Falkirk have done by naming sections of their stands after former players/legends and having each area sponsored by a company. Be a good way to honour some favourites who might not get a whole stand name after them - and generate extra income. Could have sections dedicated to Andy Leigh, Murray McDermott, Paquito, Frank Connor (or Conner…) and Gordon Dalziel.
  2. There’s a pretty big difference between replying nicely to an email about putting a scarf in the post and securing major, lucrative deals for the club which he was clearly brought in to achieve. No smoke without fire and Enigma has clearly been hearing very similar things to me, including some of the terms used to describe McEwan.
  3. Greg McEwan definitely away. He’s even deleted his tweet about joining Rovers a few weeks ago. Not surprised given his reputation in a similar role at Hibs. Seemed to be universally disliked.
  4. “Stark’s Park Stadium”. Aye, looks an officially licensed product.
  5. The boy loves playing for teams called Rovers. Bristol and Blackburn next then back home to Stark’s.
  6. Think there’s quite a bit of revisionism going on when analysing Spencer and Lang. Yes, both had their faults but they were more than decent players for Rovers. I know praising McGlynn is also frowned upon these days but you’ve got to give him credit for picking them up from Forfar and Clyde to do a job for us. What’s unfortunate in Spencer’s case is that his best season for us (20/21) came when there were no fans in the grounds to watch him and Hendry bossing the midfield. Surprised that they have both decided to drop a level but don’t wish them any ill will.
  7. 0898/0891 884479. I could have totally made that up though.
  8. But his ‘yes’ man Sinton hanging about like a fart in a spacesuit. Mullin? Boom.
  9. Great bit of business signing Hamilton. Got to hope that with Connolly, Vaughan, Easton, Stanton and (hopefully after a good pre-season) Ross that we can get good balls into the right areas for him to thrive. Wonder if Murray is planning to use him in a proper front two with Gullan.
  10. Glad the FFP has provided the greater clarity that its readers* greatly needed. Great. * OK, reader.
  11. Still lots of loans outstanding in the club’s accounts. Be interested to see if these are paid off by the new group to try and wipe the slate clean.
  12. If Murray favours a 4-1-3-2 (and providing we have enough fit players) then he needs to be trying it out between now and the end of the season. I think the success of it is purely reliant on having Brown as the ‘1’, which Murray wasn’t able to do at the start of the season due to the issues at centre back (and might not be able to do now for the same reason). Easton, Stanton and McGill would probably be the best combo playing as the ‘3’.
  13. Gary Glen would have definitely been a goal-a-game striker.
  14. Thanks. Lovely weekend in Inverness and cracking weather. Shame about the football. Not too bad losing 2-0 considering the line-up. Failure to play to the whistle in build-up to both goals was poor and final ball dreadful throughout (whether crosses or passes being laid off). Akio’s lack of composure is incredible. Be good to see Young starting the remaining games.
  15. They have the ability to beat a man without needing blistering pace. One trick/shift of the ball can give them a yard start. Why not try it for once before reverting to the every-forward-on-the-park-but-somehow-manage-to-look-less-likely-to-score approach?
  16. Val clearly did. Brown talks a good game and makes assurances but I’m pretty sure he never actually puts his hand in his pocket. In terms of the football, I think we’ve been generally fine this season but the panic mode to chase games is an absolute shit show and just makes us worse. Why do we never swap the wingers over and try Connolly on the left and Easton/Ross on the right? It would mean we could actually hit the byeline and drill the ball across goal or pull it back to someone running on to it. Instead we always have to check back and lose momentum, or watch Millen/Dick aim hopeful crosses from 30 yards out.
  17. Some laugh ending a match with Sam Stanton at LCB and Lewis Vaughan as a quarterback. Fucking hell.
