  1. Well done Accies. Enjoy the win. We didn’t play at all in the first half and Hamilton set up really well (stopping our short goal kicks etc). Obviously we were better in the 2nd half and had all the momentum after the red card. But I felt the substitutes halted that as we lost our shape with all the wingers and forwards on the pitch. They just seemed to get in the way - prime example being Easton’s cross that was heading straight for Vaughan 6 yards out but battered off McBride’s knees and went behind. We’d have been better just sticking Lang or Nolan up front so we at least had some height and a physical presence in the box for the (albeit floaty and shite) crosses being put in the box.
  2. Decent enough point. If we could just stop losing goals in the first 5mins of the second half then that would be lovely.
  3. This will also be the first cup final since 1994 where we’ll be wearing navy blue.
  4. I felt we were still feeling the effects of the fan backlash and apathy regarding the Goodwillie debacle ahead of last year’s final. Surely, given the team’s current form and the renewed connection between players and supporters, we can take 3,000+ to this one. Great to see under-12s getting in free too.
  5. The galling thing is that we shouldn’t need an away day at Ibrox to tie down this season’s players etc if we’d properly managed the vast sums from numerous recent trips to Parkhead. Anyway, announce Nade.
  6. I still find it incredible that TV will be showing games such as Falkirk v Ayr and ICT v Killie when our SEMI-FINAL in 2010 wasn’t televised. Thinking back to the excitement of going to Hampden for that match just heightens the disappointment of this draw from a fan’s point of view.
  7. No such thing as the SPL. We’re all one happy SPFL family now.
  8. Herculean effort. And humble pie for a few Rovers fans given the comments earlier regarding certain players and the criticism of Murray for bringing on Connolly and trying to be positive to win the game. Assume it’ll be Livi for the final, or Airdrie again.
  9. Millen and Dick have been good this season. But there is no way that they can anchor a midfield.
  10. FFP reporter can’t even be arsed to put in the date of the game (“weekend of February 11 and 12”). What a hopeless rag of a paper and its coverage of its local team.
  11. I’d start Stanton at Gayfield in the 10 role and drop Easton. Let Vaughan drift in from the left (© Barry Smith 2017). Expect Campbell’s hammer throwers to do their usual and boot Lewis off the park, though.
  12. The regular conceding of early second half goals and inability to defend simple crosses is a fucking pain in the arse. Glad we’re getting the advantage of doing our little mini warm-up thing as the team comes back out after the break… I thought we played really well yesterday. It was sheer sloppiness that cost us 2pts. For it to keep happening as it has over the last month is concerning.
  13. Good result for them… Scudded 4-0 again and heading back to Lowland League it seems. Out of interest, who was the last young player we sent out on loan who really shone and then came back to become a first-team regular for us? Genuinely don’t remember it happening.
  14. I agree with Dave T on this one. It’s not as if Over-65s have “chosen a £25 mobile phone contract ahead of a £40 one” so should miss out on supposed perks. Their season tickets are cheaper because, in general, they won’t have a full-time income to splurge full whack on an Adult ticket. Really don’t see the need for the snippy comments when the initiative is about boosting attendances and encouraging folk who would otherwise not come along - or maybe can’t afford a full ticket price. The “perk” is for those people, not the current season ticket holder. Seems to me like the club have made things needlessly complicated.
  15. Get the Twitter post sent now FFS. I’d take Todd Lumsden at this point in time…
  16. Don’t know whose agent is better - David Bates’ one or Oli Burke’s?
  17. Going from Gary Locke falling out with the Hibbies in our squad in 2016/17 to Murray doing likewise now with the Jambos?
  18. What a shambles. Temporary ticket email didn’t even have a barcode on it as stated…
  19. Handy if you live near Stark’s. But it’s surely not much to ask for the ticket you’ve stumped up a fair wedge to buy to be sent in good time before the season starts. They’ve been on sale for about 2 months now. It’s basic stuff for a football club.
