  1. I’d prefer O’Reilly to stay as it would be the least disruptive in terms of our momentum instead of trying to integrate a totally new player - better the devil you know etc. However, he’s absolutely right to seek the best move for him financially given he spent a good few months out of the game. If he does go then he might be the ‘cultest’ of cult heroes in our history - 6 appearances, unbeaten and 2 wins at East End including a match-winning double.
  2. You’ve got to give credit to Arbroath but our game management is abysmal. A man and a goal up against Ayr at HT and 2-0 up today against a team with a keeper playing as a striker and we manage 2 draws. We’ve come on leaps and bounds but if we, as fans, can all see that this system doesn’t work without Stanton then why can’t Murray? Was basically 4-1-5 and no control of the midfield. He had to bring on someone like Matthews at 2-0 and shitfest the remainder of the match.
  3. The last time we were in the title mix in this league come January we signed David Goodwillie.
  4. No fans of other teams had any interest in Rovers’ playing budget whatsoever when we paid a fee (!) for Ethan Ross, brought in Jamie Gullan from Hibs and signed Sam Stanton on a 2-and-a-half-year deal in 2021/22, among others. Yet now we’re top of the league… It’ll be interesting to see our financial reports for this year but considering the major increase in attendances and apparent uptick in sponsorship/commercial/catering then I’d imagine they’ll balance out pretty well.
  5. Magnificent result, beautiful goal and some heroic displays. Notable mentions to Big Kev, Brown, Byrne and Millen for that tackle but mainly a great team effort with shedloads (!) of character. Drink it in. On a side note, if we’re going to have plenty more of these big away days in the months and years ahead then it would be great if certain elements of our support could just go to the seat they paid for. The ridiculous overcrowding in the stairway at the start was all their fault and entirely avoidable.
  6. Where are the Young Team basing themselves at Tannadice? Asking for a friend… Would be great if they opened the Fair Play Stand. Much better view.
  7. I’d rather win the Scottish Cup than get promoted. Yes, it would be great to win the league or go up through the play-offs but winning the cup is proper history-making, never-to-be-forgotten stuff. It’s obviously only got a slim chance of happening but if you can fluke a draw like Falkirk’s or Caley Thistle’s last season then who knows? Beating the Pars along the way would be even better.
  8. Happy with a point in the end as Airdrie were the better team without question. Felt a bit sorry for Mullin as he’s clearly not comfortable on the left. Totally negates his ability to get half a yard and whip a cross in early. I know it was needs must in terms of injuries but I’d hope Easton is fit enough to start there next week. Smith took his goal well. Doesn’t seem to be a fan of remembrance though…
  9. Also, delighted that Bene turned the teams round at kick-off so the Pars fans could get the perfect view of Sir Sam’s goal in the second half. That kind of thing might have worked in the past but it’s not really been a thing since Murray came in - as shown in the 3-2 win over Queen’s Park and numerous games last season when we seemed to actively choose to shoot into the South Stand in the first half.
  10. A 1-0 win at East End followed by a 1-0 win at Stark’s is exactly how the derbies panned out in our title season in 1992/93. Just saying… Looking forward to a 0-0 at New Year and 2-0 win in the spring with one of the goals direct from a corner a la Jimmy Nick
  11. Happy enough with a point. Think Euan Murray deserves credit alongside the likes of Byrne, Dabrowski and Easton for his display in defence. Annoying to concede from a corner again though. United fans calling out Easton for ‘diving’ and making the most of contact obviously close their eyes when Tony Watt goes near a defender. Embarrassing stuff. Also seemed keen to ref the game himself, Willie Miller style.
  12. I’m surprised that fixing/replacing the broken seats in the North Stand hasn’t been a priority ahead of this month’s big matches. Cost of outlay on the seats would surely be made back from the United and Pars games. Anyway, I’ve voted to let United fans in the Railway Stand. We’re a business and you can’t be turning away custom if there is demand.
  13. Reece Donaldson, Dougie Hill, Laurie Ellis and Willie Dyer?
  14. This idea that Sam Stanton, if fit, could have to make do with a place on the bench is laughable. 100% starter every week for me.
  15. Being sent to Falkirk seems a helluva punishment for giving away his shirt after Saturday’s match.
  16. Agree 100%. That’s the ‘bespoke’ part of the kit so why place it where the label goes?
  17. The board would have been better turning the Titan monstrosity into a proper club shop. The lack of basics on the shelves like strips and scarves over the past few years has been embarrassing.
  18. First competitive game of the season before Wimbledon has finished and The Open has even teed off. It ain’t right. Anyway, get intae ‘em Rovers.
  19. You think Andy Considine would not be good enough for Rovers? Have a word.
  20. Aye. Stop-start opening to the league season is pish. Get that in the sea.
  21. The grid-like pitch sponsorship is pish but the stand sections are far more palatable, particularly as they give a nod to club icons.
