Do English contracts generally end at the end of June? Could that be why we've not announced anyone yet cos we're signing mostly English based players and we're waiting for them to be available

Id rather give him a chance in his preferred position in the starting eleven tomorrow, instead of writing him off after 23 minutes of play this season then sticking a centre half or a goalkeeper up front.

If I was Jamieson or Offord and we started a centre half or a goalkeeper up front instead of me, I'd be looking for another club. They shouldn't even be on the bench if that's how little we rate them.

All of this suggests a pre-contract where both clubs could decide not to release anything until nearer the end of the season. I think an important thing for the success of this Robbo team is that we play a high line so we need quick centre halves who can cope with a ball over the top. Fraser, Dunne, Gogic and Gallagher are all much quicker than Shaughnessy. Joe will likely only really feature now if we're holding on and sitting really deep or chasing the game and we can use his height at set pieces. Or I suppose if we're really stuck with injuries/suspensions. It's a shame cos I really like the guy but I don't think there's any chance of him forcing his way into the team.
