  1. My internet is currently via FTTC and I get speeds of about 74Mbps down and 20Mbps up. It looks like full fibre to the house is now available so I'm wondering if it would be worth getting. The biggest advantage of full fibre that I can see is being able to get a better upload speed, which would allow me to use cloud storage more. I'm with Sky so to get a 60Mbps upload speed I'd need to get their 500Mbps package. Apart from not really using cloud back up at the moment (I destroyed a backup HDD last year, so I really should use cloud), I can normally do everything else I need on the current connection, so I'm not really sure if I'd benefit paying more for a faster connection.. Any thoughts?
  2. If there were disposal instructions, you wouldn't be able to read them, so a bit of a Catch 22
  3. Sounds like enough for a complaint to the regulator
  4. Most website you visit come up with the cookie consent pop-up, but most now have the consent split into "Consent" and "Legitimate Interest". The consent it normally turned off by default, but the legitimate interest is normally turned on. I have no idea what the legitimate interest is but I assume it's not really something I want to have on, so I always turn it off as well, but it's a pain to have to do this rather than it being off by default. The legitimate interest stuff tends to be hidden away, which reinforces the suspicion it's not something I need or want.
  5. Don't do them one at a time, put them all in the pot at the same time and it's a lot quicker.
  6. White economic migrants in other countries have always been acceptable, just look at the Spanish Costas.
  7. Maybe someone can refresh my memory, but wasn’t one of the un-talked about reasons that certain people were possibly pushing for Brexit, was that the EU were going to introduce tougher anti money laundering regulations?
  8. I always think it's strange that an omnipotent god who is the creator of the universe, needs to be protected from non-believers by it's believers.
  9. It's started already, not Lefty Judges, but the ECHR
  10. My reading of that report was there were no chairs anywhere, even in the break room.
  11. I just read this, another example of great working practices in the land of the free https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/jun/28/sitting-at-work-employees-rest-worker-rights
  12. Next they'll be saying they're going to mandate that all new build houses must have a chimney, so that there are job opportunities for all small children. The children need to contribute to the family rather than just take out.
  13. They really are just Tories in a different strip.
  14. I must be getting old as I have no idea who anyone/anything mentioned as trending is.
  15. In one small example about cake, you have highlighted why the whole wedding industry is now so out of hand.
  16. Another problem is there can be too high an icing to cake ratio. I want to eat cake with some icing, not icing with some cake
  17. I really need to read things properly, missing out the "i" makes a huge difference to the reading of that.
  18. I've just noticed what looks like a bee's nest in the roof of next door's shed, which is just over the fence. They look like Tree Bumblebees, and from what I've read they pose no threat, and will naturally move on by the end of July. We need as many bees as possible, so the more that can be left alone, the better.
  19. Random fact, not really to do with the Titan but interesting. Beaked whales dive to 2000m several times a day to hunt. The deepest recorded dive was 2992m. They can also stay under water for hours, almost 4 hours being the longest recorded.
