  1. Sounds like Max might be on the move in the near future, going by Martindale's comments. Makes sense to sign a player of his calibre if that happens. Barden probably back before the end of the season is good news as well.
  2. I might be wrong but with a weakened version of what looks to be already pretty poor defence, Dundee seem like a good team to start Nouble against. Could cause them a bit of bother given he's an unknown quantity in this Livi team. I like your point about him being a JET on the wide left. Think that would work quite well despite my reservations over changing the formation. Will be very interesting to see how we line up. Think there will be a few goals in this.
  3. Good pricing and also good news that this won't go to a replay. Given our SC record, our best chance is probably playing for penalties.
  4. How many goals does Mullen have this season? For what it's worth, I think he's a good player. Gets far too hard a time from Livingston fans despite scoring almost 50 times for us.
  5. We got Ryan Hardie back under Gerrard and possibly a good deal for Liam Kelly as well.
  6. https://the72.co.uk/259517/exclusive-mk-dons-hoping-to-sign-birmingham-citys-odin-bailey-in-permanent-deal/ Makes a right sided forward more important if so.
  7. Premier League 2 player of the month in September. Worth mentioning that Aston Villa signed him from Northampton as well, rather than him being loaned out there. Sounds promising.
  8. I watched the interview on the Aldershot youtube page. You could see he was disappointed with his lack of game time but I'm not convinced that the 'toxic environment' comment was necessarily saying the club was toxic, may have just been a toxic environment for him to go into work when he was often in the stands. I keep banging this drum but having a big squad where many first team players are not getting in the squad regularly is not a good thing for morale. Hope we have seen the last season of this and can supplement our back-up with talented youth players going forward. Much better than making squad filling signings like Williamson and Panayiotou.
  9. Will gladly eat humble pie if I'm wrong but I don't see the Boyes signing as anything more than cover at this stage. He's played very little senior football and I think he will gradually be eased into the side. I also think it would be extremely foolish to change formation at this stage of the season when the players finally look to be comfortable in 4-3-3.
  10. I think may have just been due to horrendous squad depth for that game. There's Lewis who played that role earlier this season and Jacobs as well if he ever gets fit again who must be ahead of Kelly in that position. If there is movement outwards (possibly not if they go back to 5 subs), I think one of the left back options may leave.
  11. I think we have pretty good balance now. It's been said already but a goalkeeper our only area in urgent need of improvement (if Barden is not in a position to return). A Josh Mullin type (or him) with right-foot deliveries would be a good addition. Possibly right-back/centre-mid cover if Jacobs and Lewis are not available in the near future. Hopefully Martindale is already looking at summer additions in the wings given Forrest and Bailey are not signed up yet. A Forrest extension in this window would be very good business.
  12. With Nouble returning, I don't think Shinnie will feature as regularly up top unless we have injury problems. Nouble, Anderson, Shinnie, Hamilton in order of preference for Martindale, imo.
  13. I wonder if the youth academy being set up has meant that we can move on players who would otherwise sit in the stands. Very strange signing at the time when Reilly had been loaned out for game time. I think there's a player there but he had nowhere near enough game time to show it.
  14. I was looking through the fixtures earlier and there really isn't an obvious period where we shat the bed, St. Mirren just a better, slightly more consistent team over the season. There was only really one or two weeks where we could have gone top, one of those being where you beat us at home for the first time in ages.
  15. Don't think that's true for us, we were fairly consistent throughout the season. We got lucky relatively coming up against a team we scared and a team with zero fight. All teams in the top 5 will fancy their chances against a Premiership team at the moment, imo. Arbroath's chances will depend on their transfer business.
  16. Good game between Strollers and Shire last night. Strollers deservedly ahead at the break despite Shire missing a few sitters. Murdoch in goals had a great game for the home side. Strollers lacked intensity in the second half, sitting back on their lead and Shire eventually equalised after an uncharacteristic mistake from McConnell (I think). Shire deserved at least a point out of the game in the end, they were much better in the second half. Lots of good players for both sides. Shire's full backs played well and their attack looked the most threatening of the opposing three I have seen (Dalbeattie and Berwick being the others). Joao Balde for Strollers should be playing SPFL next season. Robbie Cole and the full backs (Irving & Valentine) are other players who look promising for Strollers. Hopefully will continue to develop with them for a bit longer.
  17. "Financial support for businesses in Scotland is proportionally higher than in England". Some brass neck comparing Scotland and England with the relative restrictions lol
  18. Thought he looked decent when he came on yesterday. Like all of the fringe players, he really needs a run of games (whether first team, under 19s or something else) to see how good he actually is. Re Lawless, Bailey is a similar player so probably wouldn't have been the best use of our money despite how much I rate him. Josh Mullin would give something different in that position.

  20. I have said a few times but our squad is way too big. We should be looking to move on some of the fringe players and save up wages for a quality addition.
