Daily record reporting Anderson suffered a thigh problem in the warm-up yesterday while Hamilton rolled his ankle and left in a protective boot. Mullin was also out along with the aforementioned Boyes, Parkes and Penrice. No word on Harrison Clark who was the other player not in the squad.

The guy gets a few close ups of our players here. Was Omeonga incorrectly marked as a trialist?

Konovalov must fancy his chances of starting the season as first-choice.

I was wondering if some of the signings were still waiting for clearance. Bahamboula is one of them.

His good run of form stretched for about 3 months and even if he goes, we have 2 months of a transfer window to replace him. He would be an important player for us this season but this is hardly worth panicking over at this point. Agree with RandomGuy, don't think he has as big an upside as Dykes yet so would not expect as much cash. Also can't see this happening unless Ross Stewart gets a big move.

Also a goalkeeper Josh Hurst. I wonder if they got to go instead of Boyes, Parkes and Penrice who were apparently touch and go for fitness.

Martindale expecting no further business in after Bahamboula joins. Healthy squad of 25 if Kabia leaves and Hamilton re-signs. Will be interesting to see if Clark goes out on loan again or if Martindale uses him in the squad.

Parkes eyed for Livi stay Tom Parkes is set to sign a new one-year contract at Livingston after undergoing a knee operation to cure the injury that wrecked his first season at the club. The defender was restricted to just 11 appearances by the niggle after joining from Exeter last summer and hasn’t played since December. But Livi boss Davie Martindale had seen enough and was keen to keep the 30-year-old.

His versatility has probably worked against him. He kept getting shunted into different positions for us and was unable to nail down a consistent position in the team. Would have been very happy if we had kept him on but he needs to play more games to get to that solid Premiership standard that I think is in there.

Kicked on a lot in the second half of the season. Despite typically being predictable (he loves to cut in from the left on his right foot), defenders still seemed to struggle with it. I think he can ably play anywhere across the front three if asked due to his pace and ability on the ball. I think he has a higher ceiling than Hearts if he continues that form.

I reckon we can get better for the big bucks he will command. Doubt we are in for him.
