  1. I thought it was a loan until the end of the season (though possibly with a recall clause). I think Wilson is enjoying his football and after a slow start (much like his first spell at Cappielow) he has been very influential in our improvement. I can't see him wanting to go back to Queens, but if he is forced to, I hope we will be offering him a contract for next season. Queens are very unlikely to be promoted this season with or without Wilson, and I doubt they will be wanting to spend money just to get to fifth. They aren't safe from relegation yet but I think they have enough to see off any challenge from Annan, and Edinburgh City are doomed. Can't see what real benefit a reluctant Wilson would bring to Queens at the moment. More to the point is how long Bartley will be in post. I thought he might do an Imrie at Queens given they worked together at Livingston, but he seems to have been a complete dud.
  2. Yes, we see what you are doing. And after we win 3-1 at your midden later in the season, 10-2 will be our season's aggregate score against plucky little minnows Ayr Untied.
  3. It’s because it’s not a Saturday. Allowed to have PPE for games midweek and no need to use a vpn.
  4. A point at Inverness is ok considering we had only one striker in the squad. Our defence seems solid now, and I think that’s largely because Mullen has replaced Macdonald in goal. The soft goals we were conceding have dried up. December’s been a decent month for us. And still to fet Quitongo back.
  5. You don't half talk a load of shite. Incidentally there is at least 1 supporters' bus on its way, so your prediction is already way off the mark.
  6. Inverness itself seems to be clear of snow today but everywhere south of Perth forecast to get snow. Possible transport problems.
  7. To be fair, no sign of the Airdrie Klu Klux Klan outfits from about 20 years ago. Which were actually quite funny.
  8. Haven't seen any videos so far but at the time I thought Oakley's tackle was just a trip and unnecessary given that the ball was in QP's half. Certainly not a red card tackle. On the other hand, the incident where Strapp appeared to be punched or poked in the eye right in front of the dugouts appeared to be a straight red card sort of thing, although I'll wait for any video evidence in case i missed something there. The penalty looked like the QP players did an almost comedically bad dive but again video evidence might show something. What surprised me was the difference in the balance of play after Oakley departed the pitch. In essence we had the same team on the park but just without our striker, and we should have been able to play the game out comfortably without really changing too much, but we chose not to leave anyone up on the half way line when the ball was in our half, so allowing QP to push their CBs up the pitch with no need to leave a defender or two to mark an attacker. That meant the play got concentrated in the final third and meant a backs to the wall performance. I would have though bringing on another attacking player would have been more fruitful and so it proved when Mcgrattan came on to add width and pace - and almost a superb goal had the QP keeper not brought off an excellent save from McGrattan's curling shot. In the end we survived but it was a nervy 45 minutes. I thought Mullen was superb and surely must now be considered as first choice ahead of Jamie Macdonald who has lost a few rather soft goals while first choice keeper. Strapp has been superb and I'd love to see him stay beyond January. Shame that Wilson got injured as he had finally got up to speed and match fitness, becoming an effective midfielder for us after a slowish start. Dougie Imrie has done what I thought he would do and turned round our horrendous season as the injuries clear up, and with a number of our young players now seeing more game time, the future looks a lot brighter. QP look a poor side. Before we lost Wilson and Oakley, we were giving them a doing. They did come into the game when we had ten men and i do think we should have tried to play the game more in their half, but the fact that they got nowhere despite incessant possession seems to confirm that they are indeed shite. What a great 8 days - 3 games, nine points, and we're now up to 5th. Long may this run continue.
  9. Given that last season QP were one of the front runners for most of the season, what has changed to make you so shite?
  10. Graham is a pantomime villain who should expect to get booed. He's also a very dirty player and for some reason he doesn't seem to be held to the same standards as others by certain referees. In that game, he didn't really achieve much on the field (maybe why he was being subbed off). i don't buy the story about someone shouting something about his brother - how many people are even the least bit aware about his private life? He gets booed because he has a history of elbowing people or trying to injure them in other ways, and for some reason he has some grudge against Morton. His tantrum was comedy gold but every defender in Scotland, and every supporter, now knows he has an extremely short fuse. Looking forward to seeing him at the King's Theatre where he's playing Baron Hardup. I have that down as a score draw.
  11. You didn't win Saturday's game. You won the penalty shot out, but as far as the actual game is concerned, it was a draw. Probably a fair result over the piece as we were appalling in the first half, but we took you apart in the second half. You may not be aware that we were also missing several players, much as has been the case all season. FWIW I doubt Airdrie will be in relegation bother this season, whereas we need to raise our game to get us out the current quicksand.
  12. The happy medium is probably a hybrid set up with both full time and part time players. Part time players would most likely be fairly local, already living in the area; full time players are in a better position to move as they don't have to worry about maintaining their current employment. Our most successful teams over the last 60 years had part timers involved - might even have been completely part time in the 60s. Allowing part time players widens our range of candidates.
  13. Interesting. However, is the word "Firth" ever applied similarly to rivers in England? I can't recall anyone ever referring to the Firth of Thames for example, although I think they do use the term Thames estuary. Is Firth a purely Scottish term?
  14. Morton unfortunate to have to play three games with only 3 days between each game. Last night was toothless and our central defence went missing, and they're not really getting a chance to recover before Friday. We desperately need a win. I think we will improve once we have Quitongo back to give us some pace up front, but he's not fit yet although back in training apparently. On the plus side, we usually do well in televised games for some reason. Can't forecast this one but not terribly optimistic about getting three points.
  15. We're probably going to be without most of our best players. Oakley seems to be out long term, Crawford we don't yet know, Quitongo is injured a lot. Our smallish squad doesn't help.
  16. For some strange reason, we just don't function against Arbroath. Against Partick it will be a different game. Agree that Broadfoot is like being a goal down before we start the game. If Baird and O'Connor are fit, they should be our centrebacks. We can manage with Mcgrattan at RB, or arguably Blues, and though it might not be ideal, neither is it as bad as having Broadfoot in the team. Having Oakley out is a big blow though. our small squad doesn't allow much leeway for injuries so let's hope at least Quitongo is back and fit.
  17. Yes, particularly one of our own ex-players who was well liked during his time at Cappielow. It was an uncharacteristically aggressive challenge from Murdoch and he's paid a hefty price for it.
  18. Yes, but you need to buy a season or half season pass; you can't just buy a single match as that's not permitted any more (some clubs do sell monthly passes which could in some cases only mean one home game).
  19. That sounds more like wishing it to be career-ending than wishing him dead. Mind you he could probably have broken his neck falling from the height he reached during that blatant dive.
  20. Our current crop of injuries (and the suspension of Boyd) cost us there. Had Baird been fully fit, I think we'd have won that. Also the absence of Quitongo meant we didn't have the option of bringing him on in the second half to use his pace and strength. Once we get to the stage of being able to put out a full bench, we'll be in a far better position. Looks like the goalie position is well sorted though. Early days but no reason why we shouldn't be aiming to win our league. Our team is very much more than the sum of its parts. Aim high. Rangers should probably manage to avoid relegation.
  21. I have never seen a ball hit from so far out with so little pace beat a goalkeeper like that. I had time to go and make a cup of tea after he hit the ball and get back in time to see the ball roll in slowly just inside the post. It really was like watching in slow motion.
  22. 60 years since our league cup final appearance. Revenge is long overdue. 5-0 to Morton would even things up a bit.
  23. I watched the video clip many times and it looks as if the defender is just standing there when Vaughan flings himself to the ground. I don't think you can really tell from a still photo. Regarding Quitongo last season (the 93rd minute penalty), it did look as if he was impeded and he made sure that he went down, but it wasn't a dive - IIRC the defender had grabbed him or his shirt.
