  1. Having now seen the highlights the 2nd penalty was the correct decision and also the retake was also correct, however I feel it as a bit harsh the boy being sent off for the 1st penalty, he did get caught on the wrong side of Love and it looked more clumsy than it did deliberate. When all said in done Stranraer looked terrible in all areas off the park and even 11 v 11 we would still have won that game comfortibly. Stranraer will need to improve dramatically or they are in serious trouble
  2. I think the ref got 2 of the penalties decisions correct and the second one I would need to see again as I thought it was harsh at the time. The first penalty the defender dragged him to the ground, made no attempt to win the ball so double jeapordy rule doesn't apply so a red card was the correct call. The third, don't think there is any debate clear penalty. I don't think the decisions where that crazy.
  3. Saying that after the game, I think Danny Masterton scored 4 if my memory serves me but 5, think we need Syd to answer that one.
  4. Fair play to him, he looks like he has made RB spot his own, a nice problem to have with Cuddihy also strong in this position and I would have no problem with either playing there or in midfield.
  5. His stats don't lie but I do agree one of these days everything is going to click for him in front of goal. Even with his goal scoring record as it is the amount of times he has been unlucky in front of goal especially at the tail end of last season, his goals apart he bring so much more to the team and makes things happen.
  6. I understands Queen frustration. Every game players are pulling jerseys all day long and nothing is ever done about it, no idea why the ref awarded a penalty yet probably ignored this happening most of the game.Time to end this, give a penalty everytime and it will soon stop, for the record I also thought Queens penalty was soft.
  7. Thought DGW was was I bit quiet yesterday although is he still a class act. Not quite there with his fitness yet, once he gets up to full speed he can be a right handful for defenders even all by himself. What makes him special for me is he can score or create a goal out of nothing.
  8. 1-1 would be a decent result and I guess I would be quite happy with that but it would be nice to get the 3 pts and build up a bit of momentum. Saturday's result and performance will surely give the players a much needed boost, so here's hoping.
  9. A little bit of desperation claiming that is a penalty, outside the box and both players grabbing each other's shirt, have a word with yoursel, and the other fictional penalty claim was even more desperate with the guy falling back waving his arms and no defender has even made contact with him.
  10. i have only seen Lyon once this season so far v Airdrie, when he came on he was excellent and he was not the same player that we saw last season. Hearing he had a decent performance on Saturday and last night is encouraging, hope he proves everyone.
  11. Danny can glass over the defence all he likes, whether he believes it is fine or not but it is blatantly obvious to everyone we badly need a decent LB to add some balance to the back line, until that is addressed we are going to struggle.
  12. I forgot about that, turned up, paid in then told to sit up at other end of the stand where the away fans normally sit, with absolutely no warning or reason beforehand, very odd. As for the game itself, think I will just skip past that bit.
  13. Pretty much everyone is in agreement, Clyde better in the 1st half and EF the better team in the 2nd. Some pleasant football from both sides at times but equally some sloppy play at times and a game very few chances , a draw was probably a fair result. I thought the quality of the officials in charge would have improved up a division but no, still the same old crap. For the most part the ref was decent, a few odd decision apart but the stand side linesman had a stinker and really needs to refresh his knowledge concerning the offside rule or better yet just chuck it and do us all a favour.
  14. Thank Christ for that. Feel a bit more confident for Saturday now.
  15. I thought he looked really good when he came on against Airdrie. I heard someone say that when at Rangers he was well thought of and they couldn't believe he was playing for us in L2. I think we should give the guy a real chance to see what he can do, obviously DL see's something in him.
  16. Personally i couldn't give a flying you know what for this competition, i do believe it is an excellent way to prepare for the season ahead. It is competitive and much much better than playing half hearted meaningless friendlies at this time of the year and it is without doubt the best way to find out where our weaknesses and strengths lie. Our lack of a LB and a dominant CB has been very evident and is a priority that needs addressed now and not taking the chance on what we already have , better finding that out now than a few weeks into the season and not much time to rectify the weakness. Howie is a young guy who i believe will get better under DL and AM and it is a huge jump from LL to L1 and he needs time to learn. McNiff done a fine job last season on the left in L2 but he is a CB and should only be used as a CB at this higher level. Hopefully the rumours are true and DL has new players lined up already, which i imagine he will have.
  17. To be fair we dont have a left back, just a makeshift CB filling in.
  18. I think it is a bit too early to tell if Howie is a better CB than MM, watching him yesterday I would say atm, No. Who knows DL's reasons for playing Howie ahead of McNiff, perhaps he knows all he needs to know about McNiff and still learning about Howie ?? Possibly neither of the two will start once the season get underway as I am lead to believe Petkov from Hearts is coming in on loan along with another CB and a LB.
  19. If I remember correctly McNiff started as a CH, got injured and was replaced with Cogill who was playing very well and making that position his own until injury forced him out also. Rumsby and Lang immediately become a great partnership after that and obviously stayed together. With our problems last year with Stewart's injury/ illness, LB was a position Danny needed to address and McNiff slotted in quite well and added an outstanding number of goals. I think it was just circumstances that he moved positions not his ability at CH.
  20. I liked the big guy and really done us a turn a few years ago avoiding bottom spot and possible oblivion, decent big player and would have him back no problem.
  21. I think I have, the one that goes, " You're worse than East Fife" , sorry my mistake that was us.
