  1. Many reputations were circling the drain at that time, right enough.
  2. Too many to mention, if I'm honest. The defeat to Livi in the play-offs that heralded seasons of barrel-scraping must be down with there with the lowest. The spectacle of one of Thistle's most accomplished managers and his team completely blowing years of hard work is unforgettable for all the wrong reasons.
  3. Teams without managers tonight can piss off. Just sayin'.
  4. I'm too tight-fisted to subscribe to a newspaper. Is there anyone of Thistle interest on the Livi departures list reported in the <can't remember, maybe the Herald>?
  5. 'For one season only', of course. I'll bet that by next spring and barring any viral interruptions, this 'one season only' experiment will be trumpeted high and low as a success.
  6. This evening's mood after following the cup game and play-offs.
  7. You just cannae whack slender survival hopes and dramatic late 2-1 wins.
  8. Heaven forfend the lad end up at Dundee United - the career graveyard of many a Thistle player and coach.
  9. Can you elaborate here? Is that social media talk? Agents? The only nailed-on certainty is that Thistle will be a Championship side.
  10. That might well be the case, although the test was sold on the basis that it provided data on ancestry rather than demographic wanderings. Still, teach this bloody stuff in schools and dump RE/RI, that's what I say.
  11. That's what I thought after the second half at Firhill on Saturday. The thing is, given the way things shape up all players are likely to hit a wall at some point. I am hoping the Jags players recognised that happened and that focus is the only way of getting past it. Three points tonight would be a hell of an achievement.
  12. I really should look twice. I swore that was nether regions. Jesus. DNA can be a corker - my test revealed ancestors down my mother's line in Syria and Iraq. She was bloody Irish.
  13. I was left with the impression most of the Jags players were nearly out on their feet after about 65 minutes. The cohesion of the past few games was gone and we were getting Rudden playing the playground daftie pulling at Airdrie players. On another day that'd have resulted in a card and a bath. Still, five games, 15 points - Jesus, what a performance. All they have to do is keep on keepin' on until Thursday night.
  14. One win at a time and nae peeking to see what the rest of the clubs are up to.
  15. Not quite the feeling of that night on Gorgie seven years ago, but almost.
