  1. He is going to Largs meeting on Monday. Don't know about ours but I presume he might be or another West Region management committee. Complete cluster f**k for the supporters in my opinion and as I said before Junior teams may not now apply to Lowland League backed West of Scotland League.
  2. Gordon Romney is very much muddying the waters to make Junior teams not apply to new Lowland League backed West of Scotland League. "Stuart sorry that is just completely wrong. The LL/EoS are currently in the pyramid structure right now. All LL have licensed clubs, you need to be license to sit a tier 5. EoS sit at tier 6 with 30% approx licences clubs. (I knew this) The LL & The west Junior association both have application in with the SFA to be chosen as one of the options to set up a west league sitting at tier 6. To get promoted and win any play off you must have a license whether your the west winner the east winner or the south of Scotland winner. The winner between the LL and the West juniors won’t be known until 7th June or maybe before"
  3. I couldn't see anything on their Twitter that they have. Although Hurlford and Benburb and could be others hadn't posted anything but I believe Benburb must have expressed an interest just going by their pitch and recent rise through the leagues and upgrades.
  4. Meadow expressed an interest in West of Scotland League.
  5. What if likes of Kilbirnie through no fault of their fans vote for full West Region SJFA into the pyramid and then don't then decide to join new West of Scotland League as fed apparently false information at meetings that full West will move in tact so no point applying to new West of Scotland League. Its clear as mud for the normal supporters who go to the games and hardly fair on clubs and their supporters who then don't get pyramid access and end up outside pyramid as their office bearers are also in West Region Management Committee or their club believe don't need to apply to new West of Scotland League now.
  6. The likes of Kilbirnie may not now apply even although majority of support could be behind joining new West of Scotland League as they will be getting fed potentially inaccurate information that full West Region will join and to be patient etc. Will keep Junior Cup etc as the carrot to older generation of fans too so now they then don't apply to West of Scotland League. Hardly fair on any supporters who get fed any inaccurate information from committee they trust and know. Definitely needs clarified to all clubs and supporters that West Region 100% cant join en masse to pyramid or can they? That clubs have to apply to join the new West of Scotland pyramid or they won't be in at all.
  7. Every team that applies will likely release a statement so teams will know how many teams in the league. If 30 have declared an interest then will get 16 teams quite easily.
  8. What if West Region get a quote / misquote from a SFA blazer that says we want all West Region clubs in and clubs then wait and wait and wait until after April then they don't apply to pyramid then they are out as clubs were misinformed by officials they have known for decades. I have no doubt a few clubs will wait and support the Juniors / West Region.
  9. Clubs and supporters who will vote on what to do next won't all know this though. The meeting of clubs wishing to join West of Scotland league will hopefully help to clear things up asap but this is a card played by West Region and SJFA that will lead to clubs waiting and not applying to new West of Scotland league as they think it's a done deal that full West Region will join anyway.
  10. This post completely confuses the issue. Supporters will think West Region will get their club entry into pyramid then not apply to new West of Scotland league.
  11. I can understand this but supporters and clubs won't and will just go with flow and think West Region will get in. Clubs are unaware West Region won't be accepted as a whole and will have to apply to West of Scotland League. Will take the West Region quote at face value. Will need the West of Scotland meeting next week to clear things up with clubs and make them well aware we won't get in to pyramid through West Region. Complete clusterfuck.
  12. It's made out on social media as a done deal. It's really confusing for normal fans and constantly changing to be honest. You literally can't keep up with developments. Also why shouldn't there be an 18 team tier 6 if what clubs want with 16 plus Bonnyton and Glasgow University. Why a clamour for conferences when could be 12 team league of Lanark, Talbot, Whitletts and BSC reserves in same league....that isn't going to sit well with lot of Junior clubs.
  13. I am even confused now....!! Majority of Junior clubs will now wait for full West Region to be accepted into pyramid. Can this happen? Lowland League and West Region need to have talks as totally head f**k now and get it sorted. Clubs now won't apply to new West of Scotland League as will believe full West Region will join. Will they? It's a complete shambles from all involved.
  14. What cup competitions would the new West of Scotland teams be involved in? A lot of clubs including mine at Irvine Meadow have a sizeable amount of our support wanting to stay Junior as don't know or understand the latest developments. Can anyone explain all the benefits and any negatives so Junior teams can fully explain to guys who are not on Social Media for future EGMs and meetings...? In case anything folk have missed and for a run down of why teams like mine at Irvine Meadow need to join the pyramid now and not later.
  15. Is this correct. So we can clear things up. The SFA have completely gave up getting SJFA into pyramid? There is no chance of this happening now? SJFA are no longer having talks to enter the pyramid? But seem to be saying to Kilbirnie, St Anthony's, maybe Talbot and others that talks are ongoing? Is this then inaccurate? In my opinion all teams in the top two leagues of the West should express an interest to join to at least get as much information as possible and not be out of the loop on the new league before making a big decision. I can see teams having EGMs with supporters 2 weeks before deadline then to decide I would presume. Scottish Junior Cup- SJFA if they don't take the huff as inevitably that West of Scotland League is happening should invite next season's breakaway West and all current East of Scotland teams to participate in Junior Cup. Would help the prestige and I am sure most teams would love to get involved in this. The West Region has been loyal to SJFA for years and wanted to get into pyramid intact but whatever the reasons it's not happening so clubs will have to apply to new West of Scotland League to be a part of the pyramid? Is this correct?
  16. I am sure a number of former East Region Junior teams such as Bo'ness, Linlithgow Rose, Camelon would love to be involved in a revamped Scottish Junior Cup for all clubs in tier 6 and below and even tier 5 clubs too if they wanted to be involved. It could be a brilliant competition if Junior and Senior officials could actually agree on something but I am highly sceptical they could.
  17. Irvine Meadow are delighted to confirm that Colin Spence and James Latta have been appointed joint managers on a permanent basis. Assisted by new coach and a former Medda player David Gillies.
  18. "Irvine Meadow today can confirm Colin Spence and James Latta are confirmed as our caretaker management team" Best of luck to them both. Lot of experience and contacts in the Junior game and lot of trophies between them too. I am sure all our squad will be giving 100% for them too. How many ex Talbot players as managers in West Region now? Must be at least 4 or 5? Lot of them will have learned a lot from Tucker.
  19. Shouldn't I retweet big breaking news from the Juniors from our rivals that will interest our supporters and followers? Will I just bury my head in the sand and pretend it isn't happening [emoji23]
  20. That's just myself as a supporter retweeting big news from a rival team. It is not the feelings of the Meadow committee. I don't know their stance to be honest at the moment.
  21. I know there was a benevolent fundraising event held in November with long term injured players getting significant sums of cash each to help them out. Sorry to see McGinty leave as we had continued to improve each year and players all gave 100% effort, even at the weekend against Kello you couldn't fault the effort just one of those days and unfortunate it was in the Scottish Cup against lower league opposition. If we take one of our chances or ref gives our last minute goal then McGinty would probably want to stay on for at least the replay...
  22. Personally I am very disappointed he has left as we have been improving our league position every season since he came and made Meadow a generally tough team to beat. We were 4th bottom of league below when he joined us and now punching above our weight in 3rd spot in top of West Region Premiership. Even after our Scottish Cup exit no Meadow fan would have wanted McGinty to leave as we all know what a tremendous job he had done on a tight budget compared to 2008-2015/16

  24. Official: "It is with regret that the Irvine Meadow committee have accepted managers Brian McGinty's resignation tonight. We thank him for all his tremendous hard work and effort since joining in October 2017. We wish him all the best for the future. A full statement will be released soon."
