  1. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji85][emoji85][emoji85][emoji85][emoji85][emoji85][emoji85][emoji85][emoji85][emoji85][emoji85] New rules down Darvel way folks, first 7 minutes don't count....!
  2. Try messaging their Twitter for details of their squad?
  3. I just screenshot then edit the league tables as copy and pasting just created a mess of a 5 page league table. I'd like to see individual club results back good for each week to see how your opponents are performing at home / away and any upsets or big results they have had this season etc.
  4. The league table is a bit false at the moment with Talbot so many games behind everyone else and will need to see how they do when caught up with their games. Quite happy with Meadows start to the season. If we keep battling away we can hopefully stay in top 3/4 and challenge for as long as possible and go far in a cup competition (West or Scottish) then a successful season. I would love to see us challenge but don't think we have the strength in depth as got a couple of important midfielders out for the season. At the bottom I do think Rob Roy will unfortunately go down, the 5 years of waiting for the new ground to be built and ground sharing has finally taken its toll I feel and looks like Cumbernauld have benefited and coming up to top league for first time I can remember? Then other two relegation spots could be any of 5 or 6....I do think Benburb looked excellent yesterday against Meadow and likely could have drawn. Just their defence let them down on occasions.
  5. The Scottish Green Party really are attention seeking fuds. I understand them standing in Glasgow & Edinburgh to an extent....but marginal SNP held seat Perth? The Tories will be delighted with them. The climate crisis is a big deal but better putting resources into campaigning into set Scottish Parliament elections rather than another UK general election.... They are a party I did have a lot of sympathy for and one I could well have voted for in an independent Scotland but not now. Will be no Green deal in a unionist Conservative led majority that will be taking powers away from Scotland.
  6. Things that should happen but won't: Lowland League opening up to have at least two automatic relegation spots. There are a few very poor teams eg Vale of Leithen, Edinburgh University, Dalbeattie Star would likely struggle even in the league below so teams are in false positions and will be for 5-10 years yet! All West Region Premiership teams go into Tier 6 with automatic promotion to Lowland League for the winners (floodlights & license dependent) The East problem I can't see being resolved too many associations, individuals and teams looking after their own interests and putting blocks on East Juniors entering at a sensible level. This is impacting on the West Region Juniors who should be in the pyramid already. Question: With Brechin being at the bottom of SPFL if they go down where do they go? Lowland League or Highland league?
  7. A good run of results recently in particular the win against Hurlford at the weekend puts us up to 2nd. I don't expect us to stay in 2nd but got some important points on board to get us as far away from relegation zone as possible. Our Macron Scottish Junior Cup 2nd Round game is off and we will get a bye to 3rd Round as unfortunately Peterhead team Buchanhaven Hearts are unable to field a team. It will let our injuries clear up before a tough game v Rutherglen Glencairn away, although a few goals at the weekend and a win would have been far better than getting a bye and would have gave our strikers coming back from injury and good opportunity to get their confidence up.
  8. Got flights to LA booked for honeymoon via Thomas Cook for a road trip around California in just over 2 weeks time. Hopefully they get it all sorted. Been looking at alternative flights if worse comes to it and available at similar price currently.... Paid by credit card so hopefully will just be refunded if worse comes to it and quickly purchase new flights before they sell out / get too expensive! If Government do bail them out would be some good vote winning publicity for them. You know you want to [emoji849][emoji23]
  9. Talbot odds are 21/10 tonight on SkyBet and 5/2 on McBookie. Worth a punt?
  10. Last season ourselves at Meadow and a good few other teams have finished their season in early April and could have fitted in an Ayrshire Cup and had free weeks in March & April. Talbot and others meanwhile who were successful in cups did have a lot of games to fit in.
  11. In my opinion there are 2 options: Either Ayrshire & Central Cups straight knock out from February / March onwards. Or go back to Ayrshire & Central League Cups but have the knock out stages played in February to May so just 3 league cup group games that are played in July that gets players ready for league but not knackered out with 6 league cup games and all teams just have 3 games so fairer?
  12. Every single team in our league has players on holiday during the season even Talbot, Pollok & Hurlford etc. It's not ideal but something all teams have to deal with. With pre season starting in July and season finishing in May/June of course players will have holidays during the season. Their main jobs and family will come first. As long as players let the manager know at start of season or as soon as possible I don't see a problem and don't have a holiday every month or two.
  13. Scotland competed internationally fine under Walter Smith? Then he left... Our defence and strikers are not good enough plus recent managers not wanting to play defensive midfielders....
  14. Whoever had Meadow or Vic's on Marymass Saturday at home would have a very small away crowd so would have a reduced income today and whoever had them away from home would struggle for their players, officials and fans get to Meadow or Vics Park in time for kick off due to traffic restrictions and road closures that would make it a nightmare for teams that don't know Irvine to get around. Agree to disagree on this but I can see when teams go into pyramid questions being asked but a lot of very valid reasons to continue this traditional derby game.
  15. It's also good for Junior football as lets people in Ayrshire and beyond see it's not just kids football and semi professional non league. Also a lot of both committee's and fans are involved in Marymass Saturday so if either team played Saturday it would be a very poor crowd plus real struggle for players, committee or opposition to get into and out of Irvine today at 12-2 when teams would be arriving / leaving. It would be good if could still be played as league cup section game but league now starts earlier for good reason so only a 'friendly' but a well attended friendly that helps promote the Juniors to people of Irvine plus often neutrals come down to game too.
  16. The annual Friday night Marymass Derby has been going since 1921 and gets around 800-1000 supporters which is one of the biggest crowds of the season especially for the Vics. It's a great way to promote our football teams and grade of football to people who don't normally come to our games and hope they come down to more games. Also with clubs now in different leagues its a great way for the town's two teams to play each other every season.
  17. Hopefully Darren Jones isn't too far away seen he was warming up with squad last two games. Expect both the youngsters - Woods & Wells to play tomorrow plus McGuire, Spence and at least a couple of trailist's. Hopefully do enough to win since Vics beat us two years ago then an important home game v Kilbirnie next weekend.
  18. [emoji848] I really can't see St Roch's challenging Darvel & Cumbernauld etc for promotion. Their aims will be to stay in the league.
  19. Get a room you two and get the pyramid chat to one thread!! Ffs. Scottish Junior Cup 1st and 2nd Round is the topic [emoji849]. Some really interesting ties. Also I am sure North teams like Buchanhaven Hearts who have drawn Meadow & Forres Thistle who are at home to Pollok will be happy enough with the draw and will earn a decent sum.
  20. Darvel v Beith should be a belter! I think Darvel could cause an upset if they can keep 11 men on the pitch.
  21. When you copy and paste onto here via the app it's rubbish and probably what Mick done. Hopefully this is bit better to read for folks who need it. 22. I think it's better to get the midweek games done in July & August when possible as usually teams will have full squads available with most players fit and ready to go for new season. The players would rather be playing Monday & Wednesday at start of season than doing training / more running. Not this year but weather tends to be better or at least milder in August than April midweek games. Also supporters more likely to come out to see how their local team is shaping up at start of season than at end of the season when nothing much to play for unless your team is in a title or relegation battle. It's good that likes of Petershill has got games in too when otherwise would be idle. Plus I have noticed how changed the fixtures quickly for teams involved in Junior Cup 1st Round so teams are not left unnecessarily idle if possible. While previously Scott Robertson would have just said tough luck if you had a free Saturday in September and another team was free in your league. Lot of common sense used.
