Hopefully get a wee friendly against our county cousins this summer. I wouldn't mind seeing an annual pre-season tournament put together, maybe over two days, involving us, Vale, Bankies and Yoker. A West Dunbartonshire cup. Could maybe mirror the Renfrewshire cup and extend it by getting some of the county's top amateur sides involved too.

Patience and perspective required from a few of you lot. Season only just finished and we have a whole summer to look forward to. Let's not forget we have been riding on the crest of a wave lately, it'd be a shame if off season boredom was allowed to undo the great recent success we've all enjoyed. Football fans are a fickle lot.

Not that I think it would ever happen, or that we are even approaching him, but for those who are saying Thomson would never play for Dumbarton, let me point out that Scottish football has seen plenty of unlikely scenarios come to pass of late; Dumbarton and Cowdenbeath getting promoted and establishing themselves as Championship sides, Rangers going bust snd starting again in the bottom tier, the formation of a single league body, introduction of Premiership playoffs, fairer financial distribution, lower league games on tv, lower league squad numbers and shirt names, internationals picked from division three, introduction of relegation out of bottom tier, Hearts and Hibs getting relegated in the same season, St Johnstone winning the Scottish Cup. Let's be honest, if Dumbarton, Alloa, Cowden, Hearts, Hibs and Rangers can all be in the same league then anything can happen these days.

David Crawford always seemed quite good at saving penalties when he was with us. Wasn't there talk at the time that he was forever searching for a full-time deal and that was why he held off re-signing for us until we replaced him so he ended up signing for Queens Park or someone like that?
