In all seriousness, Keith Lasley has been one of the best ‘signings’ St Mirren have made in the last decade. Absolutely, we’re a claret & amber outpost in Renfrewshire, but there’s been no failures. O’Hara, Robinson, Lasley & Co. They have brought us stability, and have delivered.

Keep em’ coming lads, keep em’ coming!

Can we interest you in Ricki Lamie and Bevis Mugabi?

Goss was a useless kunt for about 70% of his time here. OOC guy playing for a deal (here or elsewhere)? New manager bounce to impress SK? Used "correctly"?

    Who knows

f**k him though. Best wishes, see ye later.

Worded it better than I ever could.

Done us a turn for a fraction of his time here but was a pea-hearted shitebag for the most part.

Certainly not a player I'd be chasing for a response.

  3. I'm quite happy with our RB options as it stands. SOD operates and is far better suited to playing wing back in a 5 than whatever the f**k Alexander was asking him to do.

What's Furlong's plans? At 21 he's in a similar position to many of our young players over the years in that he's unlikely to be near the 1st team of his parent club and maybe a drop down a level (i.e. - to us) would be the best move for him.

As an aside, I didn't know Furlong's first name is actually Walter #AnnounceWatty

  4. I answered a call from one of those places offering to sort compensation for my "accident".

You could hear the surprise in the woman's voice when I told her I had been in an accident (I hadn't). I then made up this elaborate story about what had happened before she butted in to tell me how I could be done for fraud 😂

The sponsor troubles me, not going to lie.

I have enough dealings at work with Digby Jones and Dallas McMillan claims, without my football team encouraging them.

Tbh, I'd much rather we continue to encourage gambling or pawning of family heirlooms / stolen goods in the area, than encourage swathes of fraudulent claims.

Btw, I have no issue with legitimate claims whatsoever, but the rise of these parasites, the number of fraudulent claims is on the rise, year after year.

I'd rather we were sponsored by Uppercrust or the Electric Bar.

    🤷‍♂️

    Spot on.

Having worked in insurance it's these companies that encourage folk to claim injury or give them a hire car at extortionate rate. In turn, everybody else's premiums go through the roof.

I've been to Harrogate. It's actually quite nice.

Not sure this will be the "new challenge" Dean is hoping for right enough. I'd put the English League 2 on a par with the Scottish Championship in terms of standard.

Just to make clear, this wasn't meant as a dig at Cornelius. If he feels he needs games and has gone somewhere he thinks he'll play more then absolutely fair enough. We've had plenty of players over the years who have come through the academy, or otherwise, who have shown themselves to not be good enough and long overstayed their welcome.

I wouldn't put Cornelius into that bracket and think he's a better player than the likes of Barry Maguire. With Goss looking unlikely to resign I think Dean could have got the game time he's looking for had he stayed with us but if it hasn't been guaranteed I don't blame him for going elsewhere.

And as I say, I Harrogate is a nice wee place. It doesn't have an Indian Villa though.

  7. Some of the Van Veen takes are wild.

Can't really add to anything that's already been said but he's got an opportunity to go back to the Netherlands and earn multiples of what he'd ever get with us or any other club he's played with up until now. He's now 32 and it's highly unlikely we'd ever anticipated him being a sellable asset.

This isn't a Jake Hastie or even a Max Johnstone situation where we can argue another season with us might do him good. He's a 32 year old striker coming off the season of his life. It's now or never as far as KVV is concerned and as a club that openly gives players a platform, we're never going to stand in his way.

Before this (last?) season he had scored 15 goals, or more, twice in his 13 year career. I think he's great but there's nothing to suggest he'll replicate his form next season, especially if we've done him out of a life changing move over the sake of a couple of hundred grand that we'd probably never budgeted for in the first place.

  8. I used to hate working in an office and having someone sitting 6ft away from me send an email asking me to do something. I had saved a copy of the "delivery failed" email and used to just copy the contents and send this as a response to whoever sent me the email in the first place.

If they then came over and asked me to do said task (like a normal person should) then I would. If they did nothing or worse, resent their original email, then their request would remain ignored and I'd deny ever receiving any of their emails.

  9. When I started working in Tesco at 16 my mate (honest) thought that staff were allowed to help themselves to anything on the shelves at break time. He used to come up to the canteen with all sorts of stuff and this went on for weeks before he was told otherwise. Fortunately it wasn't management that pointed it out to him or he'd have been out the door and likely have a shoplifting charge against his name.
