    Not the point.

If you look at the winners across the 30 years of the Premier League's existence (rather than, conveniently, only looking at the time of Bayern's dominance), Seven teams have won it. Liverpool, Leicester, Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal and Blackburn.

In 30 years of the Bundesliga, Six have won it. Bayern, Dortmund, Wolfsburg, Augsburg, Bremen and Nurnberg.

Bayern's current dominance is not far off of Man United's throughout the early Premier League era. Bayern's is just a little bit more extreme.

What 30 years are you referencing in terms of the Bundesliga?

Augsburg have never won it but in (relatively) recent times Stuttgart and Kaiserslautern have.

The issues with him cant be blamed on tactics.

Jumps under the ball constantly, doesnt have a clue where hes meant to be (most of his time on the park was spent standing staring at the ball), gets pushed off the ball by people half his size. Cant control the ball, cant run with the ball, struggled to pass the ball. Couldnt strike the ball cleanly, couldnt head the ball cleanly, couldnt tackle well. No aggression.

He'll become a cult hero but only because of how bad he is.

Do you have a graph for him? (genuine question)

Not for a second saying it will happen with Maguire and McGinley, but how many times have we seen players improve under new management and different styles?

Some of our fanbase need to get a grip on reality. Certain sections wrote off KvV, Moult and Higdon in the past. Seems like, if you don't hit the ground running, any poor touch, misplaced pass or poor tackle/shot is met with abuse.

Let's be honest too, there are certain players who could play outta their skin for 10 games in a row, then make a mistake and have the same folk back on their backs, it's fucking tiresome and there seems to be a small element of the support who revel in it. Aye, you can be frustrated at the fitba and vent that, fair enough, but some of it is over the line and seems to be aimed at a select few. There is a reason players play for Motherwell, they tend not to be the 'complete footballer'.

This describes one of my mates to a tee.

He had Wilkinson down as "shite" the day he signed based on a 5 minute highlight reel he saw of him on Youtube.

Regardless of result, he will always find something negative to say. It's a shame as he's the only other one in my group of mates who also supports Motherwell but I don't even bother discussing anything with him as I'll disagree with pretty much everything he says.

    Ach, you’re probably right.

Is what you’re saying not true of Obika, Wilkinson, Efford and the new left back though? All arrive with questionable injury records do they not?

You probably could argue that to an extent tbf. Every signing for us is a gamble in some respects and with the names you've mentioned above (Efford apart who got injured with us) the club must see them as gambles worth taking.

We took the gamble on Moult last season and, IMO, it didn't pay off. He was great for us and will go down as one of our best players in recent times but he's done now.

No doubt Dundee United will throw a comparatively silly wage at him so fair play to him in that respect.

I’ll be pretty sickened if Moult ends up at Utd. I appreciate I have an irrational love of the guy but It’s worth the risk.  We’ve just signed an injury prone left back who’s played for Crystal Palace on a 6 month deal so why not Moult? Ye pretty much the same scenario.

Because we signed him last season and he was clearly done?

We're not a charity and when there's talk of limited budgets and having to get players out to get others in, signing a player that we know to be ravaged by injuries is a massive waste of money given where we're at.

With Danzaki and (probably) Shields away, I wonder if there’ll be more we are actively looking to ship out.

Maguire is one I can’t see much of a future for, but given he was already away on loan when Kettlewell came in I wonder if he’ll get the league cup games.  Probably a few in that bracket actually.

I was hoping Dundee might have taken Maguire permanently given they know what he's about and he's somewhat experienced at this level.

They must not know he's 2 footed.
