  1. We almost certainly won't be allowed to "pick and choose" where we play next season. When has any club been allowed to do that, and why do people now suddenly think we will be given that choice? I agree 100% with @PB1994 above in that for next season we announce where we're playing and that's it for the year. And regardless of what league we're in, unfortunately I think I actually would choose Hampden if that was an option. Even if we're in the championship 1000 seats at Lesser is unacceptable, and despite the recent talk of "temporary stands" it's not going to be completed in time for next season. QP once again being reactive rather than proactive, it's not like we've been saying for years now the plans at Lesser are not good enough.
  2. Solely looking at league position and the previous meetings this season, you would expect a home win with few issues. However as mentioned above, despite their struggles Arbroath have been able to cause an upset this season and have taken more points off Dundee & Morton than we have. Add in no defeat in the last four games & only conceding twice as they fight to survive, I unfortunately see it as another tense 90 minutes for QP fans. I honestly don't care if we win 1-0 or 11-0 for the next seven weeks, all that matters is three points.
  3. You'll need to make sure you stop by and get the name of the QP staff member in charge of squad registration to make sure they get a medal after the final. It's the very least they deserve.
  4. Nothing private about it. Don't think I'll ever forgive the club officials responsible for this. What makes it even worse is I now have to fucking support Falkirk in a game.
  5. Anyone else not yet ready to get over our embarrassing Scottish Cup f**k up? You could actually have seen Queen's Park with a shot at a Scottish Cup final. Utterly, utterly unforgivable.
  6. Get these fucking morons pumped please Queen's Park. Thank you.
  7. 2031 Pre-season I'm still not over the hectic end to last season, but time stands still for no-one and the new MLS campaign is upon us. And of course this season, I will have my first shot at the North American Champions League. Not quite sure when that'll start, as last seasons competition is still running until April. But I'll worry about that later. As always with pre-season, there have been plenty of incomings and outgoings. Not only do we have the usual transfer market as an option, but there have been some trades, and of course the MLS Draft, but firstly a quick look at the outgoings. Laecio was club captain last year, but he was distinctly average and it was a pretty good offer so I decided to go for it. It once again nearly led to a squad revolt led by that p***k Stuart Findley due to the lack of depth at left back this time, but that was resolved later in the window. Mitchell Robson & Quinn Sullivan were not good enough for the league, and Al-Otaibi lost his #1 jersey due to the incredible talent of Di Livio who I brought in for free last season and is now being dubbed "the new Gianluigi Buffon". 2031 MLS Draft Despite winning the MLS Cup and therefore giving myself the last pick in every round of the draft, due to trades that had occurred prior to my arrival, particularly with LAFC, I had the second overall pick this year. There were only four players deemed by scouts to be worthy of a C grade or higher, so this was very handy. I used the #2 pick to draft John Ruiz who provides cover across the entire back line, with the potential to improve and become a very good player in the league. I then had a total of 7 draft picks left for the draft, with the first not coming back around until #28. I completed a mid-draft trade for Jose Garcia who should be challenging Pereira and Riccelli for a starting spot at centre back. I tried so hard to find someone better than him out-with the MLS, but I was rejected or missed out on a number of better players so settled with him. I was also able to get rid of 5 pointless draft picks plus a little bit of General Allocation money for him, unfortunately there's nowhere to view trade history so I can't remember how much exactly. My last two draft picks I used were late in the first round and early in the second round, and they aren't even worth a screenshot to be honest. A fullback that can play either side, and a left midfielder, who'll both sit in the B team and only be called on in case of absolute emergency. I have made one big trade this off-season, and it was for a player I'd been after for quite a while. Atlanta United started making offers for my left winger Andrea Grosso, and I was able to package him and £3m in General Allocation money for Caleb Wiley, who is an upgrade on Laecio and a lot cheaper on wages as well. Added bonus of also being able to play left wing if required, I love a player with multiple natural positions. He does unfortunately start the season injured for the first few weeks though. Before I acquired Wiley, I had already made my big signing and he is a natural left back, but thankfully for me he can also play right back, defensive midfielder, and I'm training him to play central midfield too. I went back to Suwon FC and brought Gaeten Ibenge stateside for his release clause of £2.9m. Giving him a taste of a central midfield role in preseason, he got five assists in four games, so it's looking promising. And the final signing (for now) is one that I probably didn't need to make, but it's just a game, isn't it? My scouts previously informed me of Ewen Gibson, a Scottish-Ecuadorian born in Coupar Angus but playing for Barcelona (S.C, in the Ecuador ProLiga) who had been transfer listed for well below his market value. Losing Grosso in the trade to Atlanta meant I could make an excuse of needing some back-up, and he joined for a cool £140k. So that concludes the winter window activity, but there is one pre-contract agreed for the summer. Scott Guest was attracting interest from the usual top tier English clubs, but he has agreed to join Philadelphia first and when he does I'll have yet another promising young player that could go on to big things. He is a Rangers supporting Englishman but maybe I can get back into the Scotland job quick enough to convince him to play for the good guys at the senior level. Friendlies results have been encouraging, so hopefully hit the ground running in the league and keep up this good form.
  8. Aye the VIPLeague stream isn't easy to watch but better than nothing. Quite surprised at the half time scoreline, but can't rule out a comeback after seeing it with my own eyes on Saturday there. Delicious Morton tears from right beside the pixellot camera though. Booing the team off at half time, when they came back from this exact same position three days ago, and are still fighting at the top of the table
  9. Why would this cricket club not own their current ground if they've been there for that long? Going to be honest, I'd never heard of them prior to these rumours a couple of days ago, and I'm not going to pretend as if I care about them now. It will certainly be a shame for those involved with that club, but if they're only leasing the ground surely this kind of thing should have been planned for in the off chance it ever happened... As for our involvement, there seems to be plenty of rumours that we're "at fault" for this, but I don't know why other than Lochinch being next door. That seems big enough already so who knows what is planned here, if indeed it is QP taking over the lease.
  10. This thread, fucking hell. We should have put that game to bed before Morton finally capitalised on the chances they created, but that disallowed goal for Eze is possibly the worst decision in any QP game this season. I know some other posters have said "these things balance out" etc but it doesn't feel like it right now. As for the usual heads gone comments over Queen's Park, delicious as always.
  11. We probably could have got a point at Cappielow if not for 90 seconds of madness from Ferrie, as we were much better in the second half, but overall there can be few complaints at picking up zero points from our two meetings so far this season. If we decide to be the team that actually wants to win this league, we need to step up against Morton and then Dundee and take something off them. No idea if Kilday is able to come back from injury yet, if not it'll be a real test for Eze who has looked much better in recent performances but the opponents haven't necessarily troubled him too much. Otherwise, I'd probably keep the same lineup this week including Healy, who did start the game quite slowly but grew into it and got his goal. When he came on at Cappielow he caused a few problems, so would like to see him really go at the opposing fullback from the start. If Thistle can do us a favour tomorrow night I'll take a draw, otherwise give me a scrappy 1-0 victory for Moneybags FC.
  12. 2030 MLS Playoffs So into the playoffs we go. New York Red Bulls and Vancouver get a bye in the first round for topping the Eastern & Western Conferences respectively, and for the rest it's a simple concept of 2nd vs 7th, 3rd vs 6th and 4th vs 5th in the first round. I finished 6th in the Eastern Conference, so I come up against big spending Atlanta United in the first round. A grudge match for my main man Stuart McAuley...

I'm finding he's just as good as gold Mendy was for me, who he replaced. Given the cost I wouldn't recommend tbh, but I had plenty of fodder anyway and always like having Serie A teams. Only problem this year is those Argentine dynamic photos are glorious so I also don't want to drop them

I don't play Rivals or WL, so doing the RTTF Cup friendly objectives is the first time I've had a chance to use my main team in a competitive environment (although I did have to play RTTK Aubamayang over WC Correa). Got the 9 wins required in 12 games, the three losses all singlehandedly down to different versions of Kylian Mbappe. Is it just me or when you come up against Mbappe your defenders just do even more stupid shit than usual? Running the wrong way when tracking back, missing the ball or even falling over completely, and I swear the goalkeepers deliberately dive the wrong way whenever he shoots so annoying. Really liked playing with my team though. Not enough to play Rivals mind, but still good fun. Fernandez and Otamendi are a superb duo, Maldini is class at CB and Hugo Sanchez upfront is an absolute baller.
  15. July - October 2030 A quick update for the latest follower to the thread, fellow QP fan Bring Your Own Socks, welcome along MLS: US Cup: Leagues Cup: I've continued to be very active with transfers throughout the season, and there have been some big changes in the last few months. The MLS Roster Freeze date passed in September, so no more changes for the rest of the season. Sullivan is a backup who needed gametime. Hironimus was my #1 striker when I joined the club, but with the additions of McAuley and Munjoma he quickly became #3, and taking up one of those precious International slots meant he had to go. Nadir Boni was my starting RB at the time and was a decent player, but the offer came in after I signed a younger player who I was lining up to replace him at the end of the year, and I decided to just go for it now. Fabrizio Vasquez has come in and overtaken Grosso as the starting left winger. Once again aided by the fact he has American citizenship so doesn't count against the squad registration limit. He's been so good I'll be considering selling Grosso when the season ends. Mauricio Patino is my first attempt at signing a Designated Player, who is meant to be an absolute superstar and take the team to the next level. He has been solid, but not quite the level I had hoped for so far. He really lives up to the Aggression 20 stat though, he is constantly aggressive in games and is constantly picking up bookings Edoardo Di Livio is going to be my new #1 goalkeeper, I have ridiculously high hopes for him. Perfectionist personality and 18 Determination, hope to see him improve rapidly when he gets to start every single game. Gianbattista Torricelli was signed to be backup to Nadir Boni, but became my defacto first choice once I sold him to Cruz Azul. A pretty decent free agent signing and I hope again he can kick on and develop a bit. However, when I sold Boni, I had to have a team meeting as the vast majority of the squad, led by Stuart Findley, were unhappy about the lack of depth at right back. This is despite the fact I sold one and signed one... Anyway, to keep them happy I had to go and find another right back, so in came Kobe Franklin. Trying to find someone that wasn't either rubbish or too good & expensive to be a rotation option was difficult, and I eventually settled on him. Thankfully it was enough to keep the squad happy.
  16. Stopping the game to speak to the ball boy should have been the highlight, but stopping the game while the ball was in play to let Raith make a substitute was definitely the most ridiculous decision of the night. Bit of a shambles all round from the ref IMO. Not that it caused the result. The penalty was a stonewaller, and both teams huffed and puffed without really creating much. If you look at the BBC stats on the match you'd think Raith bossed it but Ferrie had one save to actually make aside from the penalty. We were poor but I still think we created the best chances to score. One for the xG nerds I suppose. At least Morton did us a favour and it's another week at the top of the league. Thank you.
  17. This is fair and I also accept the response from @Spiders67. Thomas coming off was a really poor decision from Coyle. I noticed Thomas reacted with a double take before realising it was him coming off, but I still don't think Williamson did poorly. Maybe I'm biased because I just really want to see him do well. But I would also agree Healy definitely had a good impact and I would love to see more of him.
  18. I hope this isn't a slight on Williamson, who I thought offered something coming on. But I agree that taking Thomas off when we're chasing a game is a wild decision. I have rarely though Coyle has made a bad decision this season, but this was definitely one of them.
