  1. That's been my feeling from the start too. Wee article from The Grauniad along the same lines.... Coutts’ virtue-signalling plan had one flaw. The bank has no virtue to signal | Catherine Bennett | The Guardian
  2. We were actually 3rd in November of that season (68/69) behind the cheeks, unbeaten after 11 games which culminated in my first ever game, against Rangers at Love St. when we won 1-0 with a GIL-shan @Arch Stanton goal in foggy conditions. Sadly we lost our next game (against Aberdeen I think) and managed to fight our way downwards to finish the season in 11th spot. I was 5-y-o and lifted over the turnstiles so the attendance would have been 43500 (+1)!
  3. Didn't take Starmer long.... The crazy thing about ULEZ in London is that it was actually BJ who proposed introducing these rules back in the day..
  4. Optimistic IMO we're more likely to lose him for the sorta fee we "agreed" with Bolton for Baccus but on deadline day - and the only thing I liked about the Baccus "deal" was that it was done early in the window.
  5. In light of the Uxbridge result I foresee Labour maintaining their policy of matching every rightwing step the Tories make.

  7. Quite a bit ranging from the £Million plus we got for John McGinn down to whatever you gave is for Cammy MacPherson.
  8. Maybe one for the Compo Faeces (sic) Thread...
  9. A dinosaur's opinion... I'm not really a fan of the women's game but it's only gonna become important as thyme passes - we've got to spend as much thyme and money as we can supporting women's football especially U-18 ages and below so that we can dip their purses 20 years from now, it makes sense and it's the right thing to do.
  10. Don't really want to fight 2012/13s battles again but we already had Thommo, Goodwin, Teale & McGowan as well as the two I mentioned earlier and despite being versatile he was never first choice when everyone was fit and unable to establish himself ahead of the better players we already had. Looking back at the players we had those two seasons it's incredible how mediocre our results were outside of the spell around the LC win.
  11. He was signed when Kenny McLean was injured and just as John McGinn was emerging when everyone was fit he wasn't a first pick.
  12. I'm assuming you missed out is and while I kinda agree with you it's the fans with typewriters (or whatever the current term should be) who churn out headlines like that will be impossible to avoid that I dread.

    Wootton

I note Wootton is now employing the Schofield/Edwards defence.
  14. They're gonna be unbearable if they come back to win 3-2. How many gongs and at what level? Sir Ben Stokes, Lord Stokesy of Bazball - I need a drink, maybe even more than one!
  15. I note the fleg shaggers are getting their knickers in a twist over the EUs decision to refer to the, erm, Falklands as Las Malvinas. Such a fuss over an overseas territory the UK government was then and still would be happy to negotiate away. I can't remember which 80s Tory Cabinet Minister summed it up by saying "It would have been better and cheaper to have given each of them £1million to leave". *************************** As an aside it's another Brexit Bonus
  16. It is indeed hard not to snigger at Farage having to w**k alongside people like myself. Having said that just like a broken watch Ole Nige seems to have been correct on this one - wonder if we'll see a new gentler Farage?
