    The beauty of having a modern stadium is that we can make money from it outside of matchdays - I suspect 95%+ of Saints fans either didn't give a fuck (me) or weren't much bothered about the Sellick shop. Let them fester in their 19th Century money trap, I know which stadium I'd rather have.

    Saints have won 3 Scottish cups and 1 League Cup so yeah you've won one more major trophy, it doesn't change the fact that we're both now diddy clubs of roughly equal stature. Having no debt outside of the Covid loan and a modern stadium with 21st Century revenue generating facilities I'd say we're the more likely to add to our tally.

    Very mild example - was going out for a walk this morning and a woman in a Land Rover came down the street barely slowing for the speedbump and then doing a 180O where she clipped three curbs - I suppose if you live in town you've gotta make your own rugged terrain!

    Was watching a political discussion program on BBC in the wee sma hours a few weeks back and the topic was if/when the UK could apply to rejoin and the EU dude said not until the Tories were pro-rejoining as the EU wouldn't entertain talks with Labour about the issue if the Tories winning an ensuing GE and scrapping the negotiations was a possibility. So a long, long time!

    This season's transfer merry-go-round seems pretty standard - IMO we've a few players to bring in and the manager is holding back to see who becomes available towards the end of the window. As ever my worry is the late departure of a key player like Baccus with little time to make an adequate replacement.

    Streaky 10 for Thursday guessed the French word and although I didn't know the correct US President I knew that three were wrong finally I knew the decade for the New Model Army but not the year. 29/30 just to be sixth and 1 point above the likely play-off spot - will anyone make the big 5-0? I hope someone does.

    Top6 at least - Fairy Nuff. The OF are "out of our league" over 38 games and Aberdeen/Hertz/Hibs all have substantially bigger budgets than us so one of them has to significantly underperform for us to finish above them - last season's 6th was best of the rest and a significant achievement which got one monkey of our back, 10th or above should be considered par for us. As @medals said the cups have to be factored in - it may be unfair but I think qualifying from the LC Qualifying section and not going out to a lower league club in the knockout stages of either should be our benchmark. **************** Overall last season was a success for us and can only be bettered this time by a cup win or qualifying for Europe.
