  1. 1. As soon as possible to me means within the lifetime of the next parliament, preferably within two years. 2. You're not just talking about "likely outcomes" you also asked when I thought "as soon as possible" was. 3. Ultimately that's what the Yoon cause has been reduced to, fear that they'll lose a second IndyRef and the threat to use delaying tactics by deliberately misinterpreting Salmond's "Once in a generation" quote. Tactically I think BJ & the Yoons should go for one as soon as possible as refusing one will just make Yes a more likely outcome a few years down the line. In the circumstances of the SNP winning a large majority I think BJ would be open to granting a referendum after all he shafted the DUP less than a fortnight after saying "there will be NO SURRENDER to the EU" at the 2019 Tory Conference. Oh how the Unionists laughed at this at the time - they're not laughing now! Boris is hardly a man whose word can be trusted!
  2. It really should be as soon as possible, if the SNP achieve a majority in May. As for the inevitable "now is not the right time" argument I'll throw it back atya - when will be the right time? It's quite clear the Yoon answer will always be "Not Now".
  3. I've noticed Ruth Davidson claiming the SNP have passed their "high water mark" in interviews recently - I can't help feeling the upcoming Holyrood elections will be a watershed moment after recent events, a convincing win up for us Nats and it's just gonna be a question of when we get a second referendum but a poor showing will set the cause back a decade and who knows what the world will be like in the 30s? Nobody comes out of the Salmond shitstorm well but I wonder if in a couple of years from now he'll wonder if playing for approval from the Express/Mail audience for a fortnight will have been worth it?
  4. Celebrations on the way for our cheesemakers? Liz Truss : We Import 2/3rds of Our Cheese!!! WATCH THE DIANA CLONE on AMAZON - YouTube
  5. Blue passports and a battery factory to supply Nissan Sunderland, makes it all worthwhile though....
  6. Interesting one, like I suggested above if H&M want to keep raking the cash in they'll have to keep "dishing the dirt" - how much more do they have?
  7. I always felt we were gonna end up here, unless she goes back to the acting H&M have only one thing to sell - their estrangement from the royal family and Netflix weren't gonna splash the cash unless they were getting a hot story. On the specific point about who made the racist remarks I agree it would have been better to name the individual - although my money would be on Camilla.
  8. Always felt we'd end up in this scenario, still at least it's in our own hands... Obika Day Minus 4our...
  9. All 4 clubs need the points - Accies vs Us & the Fakes vs County are fairly equivalent matches.
  10. Well it's gonna be a long two weeks but at least it's in our hands...
  11. Get him on the pitch and get him sold, it's really potential the top clubs are paying for these days, his price can only go down...
  12. Congratulations to India in coming from behind to win the Test series 3-1 - excellent exercise in "headology" with that 2nd Test pitch which freaked England right out - must be close run whether England managed as many runs in the last three Tests as the first.
  13. Up until then Rangers had been going great guns in the league and if they'd won that day would've gone 10 points ahead of Celtic - I always feel that goal (and what a goal ) was the first nail in their coffin...
  14. But we weren't relegated in 90-91 - there was league reconstruction so there was no relegation. We were relegated the following season after finishing 11th. The 90/91 reconstruction was specifically to save Hibs. HIbs were in financial trouble at the time and Wallace Mercer (then Hearts chairman) made a bid to buy Hibs and merge the two teams. At the time reconstruction was announced Hibs looked certainties for relegation and the talk was of them subsequently going out of business. After reconstruction was announced we then went on a 17 game run without winning to snatch bottom place... Sadly we continued that run into the following season... Like I said earlier it's a bumpy road being a Saints fan but I wouldn't have it any other way - Obika Day Minus 5ive!
  15. @madmitch Actually you predate me by a season. after the aforementioned Rangers game where over 40.000 folks squeezed into Love St. IIRC we were second in the League although a subsequent run of bad form meant we fought our way down to eleventh that's the St Mirren way... St Mirren table(s) on 1968-11-16 (fitbastats.com) St Mirren table(s) on 1969-05-16 (fitbastats.com) Edit - Obika Day Minus 6!
  16. That squad...Thomson, Teale, Goodwin. Paul McGowan, Kenny McLean, Graham Carey to name a few, we were even able to use Aaron Mooy as an advert for Peleton...
  17. When lockdown ends I look forward to my se7enth decade of supporting Saints (in person), I was lifted over the turnstyle to see our infamous 1-0 win over the Dead Team in in November68 as a 5-y-o. Fell away in the early 70s but went back to watch Fergies Furies in 76/77 as a solo delinquent... Sometimes I think back to my return and wonder if I could have been a more rounded person if I'd chosen another pastime, but fuck that it's been a glorious if at times bumpy ride. Non, je ne regrette rien. PS - Obika Day Minus Se7en...
  18. I agree and if it comes to it County will also be fighting for their survival that day too and no pushovers - it's just....
  19. My nightmare scenario is the Fakes winning their two games leaving us with the formality/banana skin of needing to beat Accies in game 33!
  20. That's what I'm saying - in 2021 it's a penalty. I didn't see the penalty Celtic got in the 4-0 game although I gather JG complained about it at the time and maybe felt he had to be consistent about Saturday's.
  21. There's not a forward in the land who wouldn't have gone to ground in similar circumstances to Quaner on Saturday - in 2021 that's a penalty every day of the week.
  22. Yeah while at school we did G&S operas and I was indeed a pirate although I had forgotten that aspect of the story. My Nanki-Poo was a sight to behold...
