I don't know who these people are. Do they also point out the errors in your timeline? As for Dundee, I've got no beef with them. Don't particularly like McCann but he's hardly the worst out there. When we won the 1st in 99/00, the away support at Love Street stood to applaud which I've always thought was a nice touch. So, yeah, this isn't a dig a Dundee, but there is no getting away from what was a pretty amateurish attempt to tap someone up.

From the same poster who stated, "This is the only thing that could stop you boys cantering over the finish line" when discussing the reactions of the team to the departure of a manager that hasn't gone. That's twice you've contradicted yourself in two posts. Hope the rest of your day turns out better.

If I was Ross I'd be using this as a bargaining tool, not maybe in terms of wages but the available resources if/when* we get promoted. I don't think that is unfair or unreasonable either. If Barnsley are saying you'll get this, this and this, that would presumably be ahead of the planning we have in place just now as it's all been about securing the promotion - not necessarily what happens next. Not that I'm saying people haven't given it thought, but until this sort of situation arises there was no real need (in the short term) to give it any amount of extended consideration. There is a flip side to Ross genuinely having an affection for the club, in the sense that I can't imagine he'd be happy at putting the club's financial position in doubt just to try and match the offer from Barnsley (or, any other club for that matter). For me, I still think he'll stay and for the reasons I had mentioned earlier that we don't need to revisit. Interestingly there are sensible long term posters on here who also hold that position, which is comforting to an extent. * it's when, we all know it's when..

I'll certainly admit I was wrong, I've got no issue with that! I've been wrong loads of times. The problem with forums is you miss the subtlety of the delivery, so people can look a lot angrier than what they actually are. I guess people have picked that up from my comments. I could fill the place full of emoticons to try and offset that but I just think that makes people look a bit mental.

You misquoted me for crying out loud! This for example.. I never said anything of the sort, what I said was people should at least listen to what the man says day in day out rather than tittle tattle of The Sun. Do I want to spend time debating the debaters, 'qui disputet conquisitor' as it were? No of course not, but it's difficult not to post 3 or 4 rebuttles when people have blatantly misinterpreted what I said. Bottom line, if Ross goes I'm happy as the club is back in the Premier. If he doesn't, I'll be happy as we'll have continuity. At this moment it's all win/win for St Mirren fans. Next season will be the nightmare of the shitfest express, leaving from Paisley St James.

I'd love for you to point out anywhere in my reply that is condescending. I thought I was being entirely fair, the poster was claiming some dichotomy. It didn't exist. So every manager will take a bigger job no matter what. Doesn't matter the current position they are in, their home life and family, doesn't matter the league position they are going to or the longevity of managers in that league. Absolutely none of that matters.

Two fold, really. Our own fanbase are notorious knicker wetters. I mean, I love them in a misanthropic manner, but we really we can be our own worst enemy. The idea that as things are going well it's all going to go tits up and a possible link with Ross is given far more weight than it really should. The other side is fans who have never listened to Ross making huge assumptions. Now just because I've followed his comments doesn't make me an expert on the matter but I'd maybe consider that it provides more of an insight. The whole "well it's money" without actually justifying that is also part of that exasperation.
