  1. I don't think we've finished our signing. Dependent on the money available to Stubbs I would not be surprised to see some free agents make their way to us in the next couple of weeks.
  2. Most St Mirren fans would prefer Stubbs went for his brother, Outofa.
  3. I'd love to know the answer to that. Is it because of Stubbs? Stubbs' badly selling of the club to them? The club itself? The money being offered. Just seems so disappointing that when we finally get our heads above the financial water we trip ourselves up. I don't blame anyone for hiring Stubbs, I said before I thought he was the best option from an ever decreasing pool, but it just seems so odd that it's really not working at all.
  4. I appreciate that someone sees the kernel of what I am getting at, but let's be honest here I absolutely shat the bed and went off on one when I really shouldn't have. If there was validity in my point, it's been lost in the rubbish I wrapped it up in.
  5. Explained at the very start of my post. You are right. It was an ill-advised rant, borne from frustration that our Chief Exec is cryptically stoking the already burning embers. Don't see the point in expanding it further, but I was overly harsh and for that I am sorry.
  6. I was overly harsh on Fitzpatrick, but I still contend a Chief Exec shouldn't be posting cryptic messages on twitter about upheaval at the club. Do I think he has the best interests of the club? I would expect he does. If people want to get so worked up that they take my comments as somehow abusing the memory of his child then there is nothing I can do about that. That's a daft correlation and one that is entirely out of my remit. Now, onto other things, I'm quite glad Miller has dingied us, but all it has done is make the situation less worse, not better.
  7. Please do. I have no issue at all what he does on his personal twitter, and I have no right to question it, but you are spot on. He needs to separate that stuff.
  8. Personally he can do anything he wants, as a Chief Exec though he should realise he has to be professional which means no ambiguous bullshit and god bothering nonsense.
  9. ..but he has a say. I don't see Scott posting ambiguous trite bullshit on his twitter feed. What Fitzpatrick did was post the equivalent of "Dreadful day, don't want to talk about it" on Facebook, it's just inviting comment and he must know that which makes it all the worse.
  10. Just had a look at Fitzpatrick's twitter: https://twitter.com/babakoochibear What a fucking mess that is. It's not the official "St Mirren Chief Executive" twitter account, if there actually is one, but that previously posted ambiguous and trite bullshit quote was posted on it so I presume we are all looking at the same account. For a start, as a Chief Exec he knows that anything he posts is going to be noticed. This means bullshittery like this.. ...can seriously f**k off. It's trite, facile and only makes him look an utter fucking buffoon. Good player as he was, that can't be used to write blank cheques for the foreseeable future. Secondly what the f**k is he trying to achieve with this mince? You know who doesn't rely on motivational bullshit? Successful people, whereas losers use them as some sort of determinist emotional crutch. Fitzpatrick, if you are reading this, and I doubt you will be, man the f**k up, either provide a definitive statement or keep the f**k quiet. Stirring the pot when you were the person responsible for putting the pot on the stove is just lazy and cowardly.
  11. Well no, while it's clear people have concerns about Stubbs, he's at least won things as a manager. Something McCann has never done.
  12. So, on the team? I still think we have the basis of a team capable of staying in this division, not much more but certainly that. On Smith? I have a feeling that this has come out because Stubbs likes to play formations without a number 10, Smith would have naturally said "Er, boss that sort of leaves me without a dedicated position, will I still get game time" with Stubbs saying "I can't guarantee you game time". That's all conjecture but it's as reliable as any other conjecture posted on here. Ultimately you either allow Stubbs to push through the changes he wants in the hope that we come out the better team - that is a possibility, certainly not guaranteed but it is a possibility, or you fight him all the way. The latter won't really achieve anything, at least at this point. I say sit tight and see where the next transfer window finds us, it's only then will we properly be able to judge where we are. I have a lot of time for our players but they are just that, players, the manager is the person in charge. With all that said, allow me to throw in this...
  13. I really don't see the issue with the team we're putting out. After all, Stubbs and Jackson re-registering themselves as players is a sensible move.
  14. I believe the deal for Isaac Hayes was done, but we ended up being shafted.
  15. Is that aimed at me? I certainly don't know for a fact that other managers will be in for him, but if I was a team looking for a winger on loan and saw his performance in a bad Celtic side, I'd be checking out his availability.
  16. I can tell you who we aren't getting on loan, and that's the lad Johnston. I know we were keen but his showing so far will have interested quite a few other managers I feel.
  17. Would Christie take a pay cut to come to a team likely to be fighting relegation in the league that the team he's leaving are favourites to win? I'm not so sure. I understand why we may have inquired but I would imagine that would have been nipped in the bud fairly quickly, but both clubs and the player.
  18. Not sure if I am taking your in-house comment in the right way, but St Mirren reserves play at St Mirren Park ... or the *cough* "Simple Digital Arena", or are you only talking specifically about Forthbank?
  19. Yeah, I mean it all depends on who you want to believe. Miller claiming he was forced out, the fans claiming he was kicked out for being shit, or the board who claim it was a clause in his contract. Honestly? I reckon there is a relegation clause in Stubbs' contract, or at the very least a drop in his wages should the worst happen.
  20. If you believe Livingston then Miller did exactly that. In general I agree with you and I'm not suggesting Stubbs has any such clauses.
  21. Now you see if you had just timed Davidson's exit you could have recruited yourself a coach and a striker.
  22. Got to say, I said there would be the minute he was sacked/linked with us. I wouldn't be too disappointed to miss out. Tell you what, and considering the job Wright did with McLean I wouldn't be surprised to see you lot sniffing around him.
  23. I spotted Muir on the bench against Aberdeen (for the obvious reason). I've never seen him play, while I wouldn't expect him to start is he good enough to be cover on the bench?
  24. What if they are the "rational anchor" that keeps us dreamers from getting carried away..
