  1. Suspect DJ wide and it will be similar shape to Wednesday. Better balance to it though and puts Smith back centrally where he's at his best.
  2. RWB and up front still feel like "least worst" options currently. I'd probably rather see Costelloe or Jaiyesimi over Brown and then sacrifice May for Sprangler out of your line up and be more comfortable with a more attacking RWB option. Speaks volumes that we've not scored away all season and even the banter page isn't calling for the likes of Jephcott etc. We've still a big squad but feels like we're actually running with 16-18 given how much deadwood is being carried. Reckon we'll be fine as long as we don't have an injury crisis mainly due to the quality we have in our first 11 particularly in the middle of the park.
  3. Expected a few more changes tbh. Be interesting to see how tonight goes. Thought we tried play a bit on Sunday but it's a different sort of challenge tonight. Gallacher being back is a bonus. They put a lot into Sunday but need Carey and Max to carry a bit more threat in the last third tonight
  4. Surprised to see motherwell didn't win with 60+ efforts today
  5. Really impressive shoehorning of an old firm reference there even by Daily Record standards.
  6. The May one in particular was baffling. Not even convinced it was a foul. Terrible game but as others of said only really looked like saints were going to go on and win it second half. Need better options at wing back to make the current shape work in an offensive sense though. Smith looks like a class act and having good three central midfielders to choose from helps massively. Few players away still but at least looking competent. Looked much better defensively but that might be down to county as much as anything
  7. Obviously the contact length is a bit of a surprise. However, even after years of the banter page, we are perth etc I'm taken aback at just how negative some of the social media sentiment is. Folk talking about cancelling season tickets. Steady us. Stay up. Literally all I'm looking for this season. Squads good enough for it.
  8. I can't decide if his offensive issues are down to a lack of quality or lack of confidence. Hopefully the improvement suggests the latter. He was excellent defensively against a player that's causes issues.
  9. Terrific stuff from them tbf. Committed to the bit.
  10. He should have booked Mitov before that but waits to book him at the goal kick where, as you said, he had the ball for seconds. The Considine incident was nonsense. He'd totally lost it at that point.
  11. Maybe an indication they are serious about a change. Whoever comes in can hopefully put their own team in and give a long overdue new feel to the place. Will be the first non-continual appointment (maybe could argue Davidson wasn't technically) since Lomas?
  12. Oh yeah, a total a lack of quality. Costelloe miscontrolling one chance and then totally snatching at another. Defended well and looked under no real pressure though. Then an absolute worldy out of nothing.
  13. First shot on target. Probably during our best spell too
  14. Sure Airdrie beat a non-league side 11-0 and were 6-0 up at half time and a few on here (not me) were on heavily on halftime handicaps. There was less entrants at the time too.
  15. Did he specify McGowan? Courier just talks about players that have been out of the squad. Crawford to start Saturday.
  16. https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/sport/football/st-johnstone/4789842/st-johnstone-drey-wright-long-period-out-knee-injury/?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social That's a real blow. Will need some of the other wide players to really step up from what we've seen.
  17. Similar in perth, not that blowy either. Minus the sun. Some of the comments demanding all SPFL games off etc. Wild. You risk assess each game based on playability of the surface, safety of travel and being able to put in place necessary police etc commitments. Absolutely no reason why Killie vs Livingston should be called off today and no reason why the saints game couldn't have gone ahead had policing not been an issue
  18. Yeah, my takeaway from the statement was that it was to allow police, ambulance etc to concentrate on dealing with issues elsewhere. Traveling from Glasgow area to perth is unaffected and most local transport is running although some saints fans might have struggled. Pretty sure the game would have gone ahead had it not been for the policing issue. Glad the pitch will be protected. Noticeable that the club is at pains to mention how its dealt with the weather
  19. Looks like that 50 year old with a knee brace that turns up to your sevens. I can see some positives from that. We are in the game for most of it. The real worry is at both ends. No real threat- honestly, can we not see May on his own doesn't work yet - and the support cast of Wright, Carey and particularly MacPherson didn't help. Both full backs were disappointing. Robinson is dreadful going forward but at least can defend. I've been a long term defender of Brown but thought he was awful today. Last two games he's started he's switched off at set pieces and it's cost us. I've I see MacPherson in a saints strip again it will be too soon; the personification of what's been wrong with our club the last couple of seasons.
  20. Came here to say as much. Brown lost his man vs Dundee and did so again there.
