  1. Week 16 update One death this week, cricket man Raman Subba Row: Raman Subba Row obituary | Cricket | The Guardian Cricket is one of those things I read about here that's just meaningless. He averaged 41.86! Okay. Row died at 92 so he's worth 33 Base Points. @Moomintroll gets a Solo Shot with that for a total of 83 points. As a result, the standings look like this: 1. mozam76 402 2. Billy Jean King 380 3. Moomintroll 346 4. lolls 316 5. Forest_Fifer 297 6. psv_killie, sparky88 291 8. Indale Winton 284 9. Ned Nederlander 282 10. lichtgilphead 279 11. 2. Watching the football at lunch today instead.
  3. Lochgilphead and Stornoway CSC flags and a half blue half green saltire. This is what a less than full uptake from Aberdeen fans has subjected us to.
  4. Very sorry I'm posting in a thread for its intended purpose. Your whinging only makes me enjoy it more.
  5. The old woman from the best episode of Scrubs is in The X-Files:
  6. John Locke from Lost is in The X-Files: He's been promoted again to some sort of unanswerable surveillance type.
  7. This absolute w**k The Tortured Poets Department. An anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time - one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure. This period of the author’s life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up. There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed. And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted. This writer is of the firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page. Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it. And then all that’s left behind is the tortured poetry. To quote Niles Crane: "If you tortured that metaphor any more you'd be before a tribunal in the Hague."
  8. I said at the end of last year after watching the best regular seasons of MacKinnon and Rantanen's careers that even though for some time it was clear we weren't going to manage anything in the playoffs it was still amazing to see the level of play those two managed. Well, this year, we're still not doing anything in the playoffs, but MacKinnon broke the franchise points record set by Peter Stastny in the 80s when they used wooden sticks goalies were glorified beer leaguers and players still chain smoked on the bench. It's been an experience.
  9. "this great music that everyone listens to" may not be as catchy as "grunge" but in this case I'm going to listen and go with the guy at the centre of it.
  10. Speaking of which, new Pearl Jam album out today. Twenty three human pounds if you buy it in a shop.
  11. "grunge" as a genre doesn't exist, it was created by a media unable to categorise the music as anything else.
  12. I'd like to apologise to everyone for a reference from S11.
  13. And aaaaaaaaaall the way in the back here is the doctor/Egypt expert guy from The Mummy:
  14. Jesse Pinkman is in The X-Files: Sue Sylvester from Glee is in The X-Files:
  15. Personally if I see a woman in public - even if it's broad daylight, they're on the other side of the road, with company and paying absolutely no attention to me - I simply shout I AM NOT A SEX OFFENDER repeatedly until they're no longer in sight. I'm just corteous like that.
  16. I swear I've replied to this twice and it's not showing up. The ceiling's low, it's quite hot and there's only one one person-sized door in and out so I hope you don't smoke. In my experience it's always been pretty good but the last time I was there the sound wasn't good. If anything, too loud.
  17. I am currently listening to Clarity by Jimmy Eat World. It is very good.
  18. Noted slimy charisma vacuum Cary Elwes is in The X-Files:
  19. Vettel didn't lead the 2010 championship until the last race when he won it.
  20. Kate Winslet's maw in Titanic is in The X-Files: The film "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" is in The X-Files: Xena: Warrior Princess is in The X-Files:
  21. Absolutely disgraceful what Iran's done to Israel. I only get my news from Britain so I have absolutely no idea why Iran attacked Israel. I am certain though that it was entirely unprovoked., out of the blue and undeserved.
  22. It's great going into Asda and seeing a pile of them sitting on the shelf with a yellow sticker on them. Got them for 42p a tub the other week and they were still in the fridge days later, absolutely fine.
  23. CarrbridgeSaintee is extremely obviously not oaksoft. Not every shite poster is a frequently banned poster.
