  1. I'd rather we took a chance on somebody out the blue rather than sign somebody expensive who, about 18 months aside - years ago - has done diddly squat. Sure, Aberdeen fans like him because he puts a power of work in. So did Moussa. So does Curran.
We're not looking for a carthorse. We already have one.
So far Curran has did diddly squat. I rate Moussa more than I do him. You at least got a goal out of him .

But yeah maybe a random who we have never heard of may just do the trick. We can agree though we need signings however .
If honest I dont see May dropping down a league anyway or if he did just cant see he would come to us.
Quite excited for tomorrow as no idea what sort of formation or who we are going to go with.
  2. Why?
What have you seen of him in the past, say, three seasons that makes you think "He'd be a great signing!"?
Suppose I look at Curran and I look at May and think, who has more chance of scoring in the championship? A player who last few seasons just hasn't been scoring to much in the top league , but according to there fans ( on here ) he still offers a lot and still want to keep him or we have Curran who so far has offered zero.

His wage demand would it be a huge issue, the Americans aren't exactly short of money?

Who do you think is the player in our current squad that you believe will lead us high up in the league? Or do you think it will be a shitfest all season?

Me personally I genuinely don't know. But what I do know is that we are short on players across the whole field. Just think if we started to pick up injuries we may struggle.
  3. The club must’ve saved a few quid so far this season just by the  lack of numbers in the squad.
Maybe saving a bit of money over the last month or so to be in a position to offer new transfer targets a bit more money to get them here. Putting 2+2 and getting 5 probably!
Positives of our strikers, I cant think of too many. Nelson needs to stay fit is the biggest task for him. We will be relying on him a lot I reckon so I'd hope Dundee are looking for someone with goals in them.
Surely we cant be looking at Nelson, Curran and youth players for the coming season?

Meh people here were expected a few signings this week or even one.... we start our first competitive game tomorrow. How serious Mcpake will take this competition I'm unsure.

  4. I don’t know much about Curran and his work outside of goals etc but to be fair to may he is well liked at Pittodrie.

Most fans I know desperately want him to find the goals because all the other parts of his game are brilliant and he has contributed a lot to us in spite of not scoring.
People just want to see Curran to score a goal, or do something/ anything.
May would do a job for us , affording him is another matter.
In saying that the Americans havnt been short on cash since in charge
  5. A lot of his mistakes were under virtually no pressure.
I think those that have come around to the idea of giving him a chance have just forgotten how poor he was because it's been months since we've played a competitive fixtures.
Not even came round to it, just accepted we are not going to sign another goalkeeper.
Have we came out to say our business is done or we are looking to add more players ?
  6. it's interesting reading everyones opinions in regard to the squad.
as the recruitment policy has been solid this summer it does fill me with some optimism although it wouldn't be the Dundee we all love if it didn't do things the hard way.
Im of the opinion that I would probably rather spend good money on a proven striker than waste whatever remaining budget on a goal keeper and extra cover in the midfield.
my thinking on the goalkeeper situation is that I do have faith in our new look defence ( I can't remember the last time I said that) and that Hamilton may not be as exposed as he undoubtedly was last season
what is the latest on the hemmings , Rudden and may situation ?
Rudden would be ideal, comes with an injury. Injuries and history go hand in hand with us it seems.
Where has the hemmings rumour came from ?
  7. From what I seen last night, bar maybe a keeper, I think we are good to go.
    You cant be serious?
Strikers alone if Nelson gets injured or even Meekings again I'd be slightly concerned.
Youth I'm more than happy to get a chance but we still need more bodies.
Even take away keeper and accept we are stuck with Hamilton we still need a few outside players
  8.
    Package holidays are grim.

Shipped into the sun like cattle and fed copious amounts of terrible watered down booze and cheap food as long as you stay in your hotel and don’t murder anyone.

All Until you’re deemed ready to be shipped back home to your hovel, hungover to f**k, twice the size and not rested in the slightest.

You got some sun though, so that’s a win.
You still spend a fortune. We did this two weeks ago in Salou.
Get up get breakfast and go out for the day. Spend whatever and then back at night for tea.
Dont need to stay in hotel but it is handy, especially when you have kids who all they want to do is drink and eat, they couldn't give a f**k if its sunny or no.

However you make it what it is. I enjoyed myself.
