    The Orville

    Quite enjoyed the first episode.
  2. It's called Christ of St John of the Cross I believe. Weirdly, a copy of this used to hang in Bellshill YMCA.
  3. Normally take a couple of escapist thrillers on hols to while away the time. However picked up Alone in Berlin by Hans Fallada, brilliant. Started it on the plane and was quite disappointed when we came in to land and I had to close the book. Set in Berlin in 1940 it's about a couple who start to got back at the Nazis when their only son is killed in the war. The various characters, good and evil, were perfectly drawn and I was gripped throughout. Can't recommend it highly enough.
  4. Better than I would have thought. Most of them a bit younger than me but we still have a laugh and good banter. Had a cracking night out in Manchester last night. In saying that there is, and isn't there always, one dick who doesn't participate.
  5. Arm Sent from my Moto G (4) using Pie and Bovril mobile app
  6. Young girl in the office was leaving and before she left she bought a few bottles of beer for me as a sort of thank you. Most were fine but it did include a bottle of Newcastle Brown. I hadn't drank this in years as I seemed to remember it was bloody awful. I am pleased to say that despite my advanced years my memory isn't failing me that badly. It was awful. Thankfully the Hobgoblin, Crafty Hen, and Dead Pony Club more than made up for it.
  7. Why are Barcelona's change strips always Fucking horrible.
  8. Had the Cloudwater collaboration with Brew Dog last weekend. Excellent.
  9. Eibar v Malaga is awful. Never seen so many misplaced passes in one match.
  10. This is an imperial stout with peanut, chocolate, coffee, and caramel flavours. It's sweet and thick and strong. I have never been a fan of stout or porter but this is one of the best beers I have ever tasted. At 11.0abv and £10 a bottle I don't think I will be having too many of them. Seriously, if you are a fan of stouts or porter you really have to try this.
  11. Webuyanycar.com has gone from ads showing people buying stuff, home entertainment centre, and football season ticket , with the money they make, to admitting you'll make more selling it yourself. Your time is precious so it's worth losing a few bob. f**k me. Do idiots fall for that shite?
  12. I've never been convinced by Luis Enrique and it wouldn't surprise me if someone else was in charge for next season.
  13. I don't think this is just down to missing Iniesta, there seems to be a general malaise throughout the side. They're a shambles at the back and not much better in midfield. The front three have had very little service but they've been ineffective with what service they have had, and as I type this Messi scores.
  14. Barca being outplayed by Real Sociedad at the minute.
  15. Just watched the delayed coverage on Sky. Barca were not much cop up front without Messi or Suarez. It shows up Neymar's deficiencies when he plays without their support. Malaga's keeper, Kameni almost kept Barca at bay single handedly in the closing minutes. Malaga down to 9 by the final whistle which came almost 5 minutes after the allotted 4 minutes injury time.
  16. 2-1 Barca, probably deserved on the second half display.
  17. Undeserved equaliser for Barca makes for an interesting second half.
  18. First 15 minutes of this match haven't disappointed and Sevilla deservedly 1-0 up.
  19. Looking forward to Barca and Sevilla tomorrow. Watching Las Palmas and Eibar hoping for an entertaining match. Las Palmas haven't disappointed so far.
  20. I tweeted a comment saying "Shpock was what the Vulcan would have been called if Sean Connery had played Captain Kirk" They tweeted back to say it meant SHop in your POCKet.
  21. Granada have upped the tempo a wee bit in the second half, a better game now.
