It's cool, if they wait a couple of weeks to make signings they can use the "he never got a full preseason in" excuse until September.

Hodson wasn't even getting a start for Partick at the end of last season, was he?

Two of the last three away from home isn't ideal, but we all play the same games in the end.

If the fixtures are out today that will keep everyone distracted for a while.

This has been done to death but I think the most worrying aspect of all this is that in today's society the accused are being treated as Guilty irrespective of evidence or a fair trial due to social media and current societal focus.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Goodwillie here but I do believe that the shouting of "Witch" needs to be dealt with and dealt with quick before it all becomes too late.
Nobody is making baseless accusations in this case. The facts were laid out in court and are a matter of public record. It's the complete opposite of what you're complaining about. He had his fair trial and was found on the balance of probabilities to have committed the actions he was accused of.

It really is baffling to even try and consider the mindset that makes someone call a guy like Goodwillie, having seen the evidence that was presented in the civil case that clearly showed him to be a disgusting rapist (not to mention all his previous criminal violence), a 'top man'. Do they really think because he wasn't raping anyone in the changing rooms when they played with him that it changes who he is or what he did? Can't get my head around it.

They did say that surveys revealed unforeseen issues, so maybe there are stability problems that necessitate a piece by piece approach.

If there's any possibility Ayr are being used by McKay to get better terms from Inverness then the offer should have a firm deadline attached to it and be publicly withdrawn if it passes.

Attempting to sign a 33 year old and two 34 year olds to play up front this season.
Mathies end of season accomplishment round up is going to be some reading next season.
"6. Almost signed Billy McKay"

I'd be very surprised if they signed McKay. I appreciate Bullen said they want experience, but that would be a huge chunk of the budget invested in hoping a 34 year old and a 35 year old stay healthy for most of the season. (Though my cynical side sees the built-in excuse for when they don't...)

If there’s anyone else stuck in the traffic at Tesco give us a wave.
I'm stuck in departures at Heathrow. Not sure which is worse.

Is it just me or are the signings we have made so far (Murphy aside) been on the cheap, a free agent and a player from non league, both of whom are about 21 years old?
While people will have opinions on individual signings, the fairest thing to do is to look at the overall squad they put together once it's complete.

What level do Aldershot play at?

Motherwell have sold van veen for £500k and he's been banging in the goals in the premiership so if the club are looking for £500k which i've heard (unsure if true), we've got no chance of getting that.
I think if we get offered £250k plus good add-ons which could take it up to £300k we have to grab it with both hands, that sort of transfer fee for a player in the 2nd tier of Scottish Football will be unheard of.
Plus longer we drag it out and say didn't accept an offer until start of August, that would put us in a very difficult position with little time left of the transfer market to find a suitable replacement.
There's a decent argument that Dipo's value shouldn't be significantly less than van Veen given his age, track record, attributes.

How long until somebody asks why we didn't sign him?
Doesn't make sense to add another centre back if they're playing a back 4 most of the time

Most folk would presumably be happy if we were signing the likes of Turner / Doc / Holt from Partick or Grimshaw from Morton but sadly it's madness to expect us to be out-bidding the likes of Ross County / Dundee Utd for these proven top end Championship players. Extra risk with there guys is if you chase them all summer then they decide against signing then you are left panicking a bit.
Need to be careful with these types. If they sign players that are too good they might promote too soon or play football that's too attractive.

Personally, I think we're more than capable of matching up to Wales of '16.
Agreed, though to be fair many of them are pushing 40 now.

I'm sure the SFA would argue that a weather event like last night was so unlikely and remains so unlikely to recur that any expense on resilience would be a waste. This is because they are idiots.

I think this might edge the purple/green number as my all-time favourite Ayr kit. Just beautiful. A shame I'm far too old to wear replica kits now or I'd be putting it straight at the top of my birthday list.

Jack Ruddy stands out as a bad player in a decent team. Most of the rest were only marginally worse than their teammates.
