Alan Forrest looked ready the minute he appeared for the first team, Bryden still looks miles off it technically and isn’t ready.

It has nothing to do with age, and everything to do with quality. If we gambled on Bryden getting regular game time once Dipo leaves we would be utterly fucked.

Or maybe he would rise to the challenge and with the responsibility?

If that's the tone of your reply and generally what you take from what I'm trying to suggest then let's just not bother even conversing about it.

You've actually highlighted exactly what the default response seems to be when folk suggest that there is some constructive middle ground to be found on here.

You're always going to get a wide spectrum of opinion on an open forum. It's healthy to have a bit of debate sometimes, especially if it allows an insight into perspectives that are different from our own. Far preferable to groupthink, I reckon. There's never going to be unanimity on subjective topics anyway.

It might change but I feel like the whole media and engagement side of the club has largely been ignored in the last 18 months. Our highlights are a shambles, our post match interviews are cringey in the extreme and when you look at some of the content being put out by other clubs then we have a bit of catching up to do.

Did they ever find anyone for the marketing focused board position that was advertised?

This is sort of the other issue with giving our two year deals it means unless someone buys them or the player agrees to mutual termination we can’t really get rid of them

This isn't an issue with giving out 2 year deals, it's an issue with poor scouting leading to giving 2 year deals to the wrong players.

Don't think it's been well managed with it being the first season.  Everyone should have been contacted when the payment deadline passed to say they were paid up and x y and z was happening before you get your season ticket.  I emailed the season ticket email about my season ticket and ticket for Saturday and Nick was really helpful if you've no tried that.

It seems like they're either using a bad CRM, don't know how to work their CRM or don't have a CRM (which would be madness).

I'd imagine the (potential) financial rewards of him staying vastly outweigh the offers that have been received and letting him leave for free is the sounder move financially until that number is reached.

On the other hand, this undermines the sales pitch to potential new players that the club will showcase them and won't stand in their way if a move up the ladder is on the table.

I honestly struggle to justify how these players go and play in a country like Saudi Arabia even when the money is that much when their football is like a farmers league compared to Britain/Europe.

You can have all the money in the world but what satisfication you going to get playing out there instead of among the best clubs in the world in Europe?

I imagine they'll anticipate the Saudi league becoming much more visible than it has been up until now. Which I expect it will, pretty sure even the Chinese league was televised here when they were throwing money around to a lesser degree than the Saudis have been.

We're making a bit of an arse of this transfer window, similarly to what we done in January. It doesn't seem like the club has any sort of recruitment plan. Brian Graham and Billy McKay were always highly unlikely to sign so it seems like we're just throwing stuff at the wall and hoping something sticks.

This is premature. It may appear right now that there's no coherent strategy and they're lurching from one failed backup plan to another, but it only takes one or two good signings to turn the whole thing around.
