  1. The point being, is decent the standard that we’re after! It’s alright to have decent players in the squad capable of being solid, but it’s the match winners and quality aspect of things that Davidson didn’t really sign. He arguably signed a lot of 6/10 players and none who could produce an 8 or 9/10 in a match, that was my main issue. As well as overlooking depth and varied squad options.
  2. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-65532572 I didn't actually know that there was no law regarding hitting a cat, but there is a dog. It's a real shame, I actually knew this cat, seen him hundreds of times as I work right next to his home, in fact he even wandered into my office one day.
  3. He had a head of recruitment at saints, they didn't get on or see eye to eye about anything and he was binned with Davidson then relying on players who he either knew or agents mentioned to him. He's not capable of recruiting at all, but equally he's too stubborn to accept help on that front and he will always want the final say.
  4. Would be like being at the beach!
  5. Would make sense since Strachan was the one who brought him into the Scotland camp. Albeit as we know, Davidson is a very very good coach, it’s the leadership but he lacks! As much as we’d all be able to laugh about it, maybe having someone senior and experienced would help him become a better manager, then again maybe he’s too stubborn.
  6. I think the lack of composure and the last 15 minutes was always inevitable in a team that hasn’t won in months, let alone a home win. So I understand why it happened as frustrating as it was. As others have alluded to, playing people in their correct positions brings the best out of them. That’s the best Gordon, Hallberg and Carey have arguably played all season simply by being asked to play their game and not something they aren’t capable of. Hallberg especially was getting in good forward position s all game and actually his ability to make late runs is really, really good. We all knew that, but for whatever reason Davidson was unwilling to let him free up the pitch. Still not convinced about May as a lone striker, but yesterday was far better from him and the team, my main issue is that if it’s not to feet we’re immediately giving the ball up. Overall we deserved to win yesterday, a little more composure in the final third and we get 2/3 more goals, but ultimately the points are the most important thing and results went our way, so can’t complain. 2 games in and MacLean and the players have managed to galvanise the supporters and get them back on side, it really goes to show how bad it got over the last 12-18 months.
  7. To be fair, Alan Muir deserves to be slagged off, he was absolutely woeful today and is regularly one of the worst in the league.
  8. Prime O’Halloran was a different animal to anything we’ve seen at saints. He was head down, run and folk for 90 minutes and generally terrified defences. Even if he was playing badly he created space by virtue of teams doubling and tripling up on him. For 6-9 months, he was easily the best winger in the league. I don’t think he’s ever had an elite mentality though, his time at Rangers did him no favours and as others have said, pace is going and that means his game becomes obsolete as he’s not technical enough to change his style. He’ll go down in the saints history books as a mercurial talent though and one who was incredibly successful with us. There was a period in his career where he was essentially winning games for us single handedly and for that saints fans shouldn’t have a bad word to say about him.
  9. Firstly these things happen. We’re only human and we can’t be perfect all the time. It sounds like you’re doing really really well with your Uni stuff and a small blip shouldn’t derail you. Use it as motivation for the next module or exam, try and turn it into a positive as hard as that is. If it annoys you today, tomorrow that’s also fine, but try not to let it fester and get you down long term as it really does sound like you’re smashing it so far and should rightly be proud of what you’ve achieved so far. As for the ex-girlfriend, that is harder. As someone going through the same thing recently it’s the little things that you don’t think will get to you. But again you’re only human, it’s fine to have emotions, if anything what you’ve done I’d healthier than stopping by yourself, there’s nothing to be gained by not being sad about things like that. I don’t know if my advice will help or it’s what you need, everyone is different, but if you’re wanting to chat to someone with no judgement then drop me a PM, happy to chat any time. But just remember, nothing you’ve posted is bad, far from it. We all have ups and downs, whether it be hourly, daily or longer term.
  10. Kind of goes against Goodwin's comments that there would likely be more United fans than home fans....
  11. So for the last week or so, my cat has decided that she want's out the house at 6.15am on the dot and wakes me up in the process. Now other than the annoyance factor of it all, I'm totally perplexed as to why she's started now as normally she'd happy to wait until I'm up and about.
  12. I think you could see that they’ve worked on stuff. For example the long throw ins was new, not that I liked it, but it was new. Plus there was a few attempts to change it up, ultimately though the quality was lacking. The difference in dead ball ability when Carey is on the pitch is staggering, if only the rest of his current play matched it and he had any form of confidence.
  13. I mean surely it doesn't matter who, the answer should still be the same....abysmal!
  14. This is fair, I didn’t necessarily think Hallberg on was wrong, it wasn’t. It was the fact that we continued to play May up top on his own which we know doesn’t work. If we’d gone 4-3-1-2, that would have retained midfield control and got an extra man upfront.
  15. I don’t mind reading that, should he have played more this season for us absolutely he should have. Does the above come across as someone determined to be the best version of themselves and not just coast, again yes. Which is exactly the sort of attitude you want any player to have.
  16. That was my initial take, the only things that’s saved him is he still tried to play the ball on the deck. Robertson probably thought he stumbled rather than threw himself down.
  17. Well he went to the Championship and struggled was more what I meant. I suspect he can play League 2 but his confidence is probably shot and he was very ropey when not in form.
  18. I think McCart was a decent player who was made to look better than his level by the players and system we had around him. He was the weakest defensively out of the 3 centrebacks and his main selling point was being left footed. I really liked the guy as a defender, but no surprise he’s struggling at a higher level.
  19. Do Falkirk’s fullbacks know they are allowed to stop crosses coming into the box? These are easy goals to stop.
  20. Let’s also not forget the fact our pitch isn’t suitable for a football match right now!
  21. Yeah it's now a Tesco. As someone who'd done plenty of work around the surrounding area and in an around Buchanan Street, until I was asked to go and do work on the Ca Do'ro I didn't know it was there at all because as stupid as it sounds, it kind of blends in. A really terrific building though and certainly in a city centre full of tenements and high rise blocks, it's a hidden gem. The less said about the condition of the non-public areas the better though!
  22. I mean that's not how football works at all, in no world can you say that at any point. You can't just sort the fixtures out based on what you think should happen. Saints could easily have beaten Hibs and likewise United's keeper could have flogged a few goals. I agree that they could do more to speed the process up, but you're slavering if you think the top and bottom 6 was in any way decided before 4.30pm on Saturday. That's absolute nonsense.
