  1. No but it was filmed in its entirety, including THAT foul.
  2. I do agree we need new blood there. It was always going to be a gamble with Darren McCormack and Jamie is at his best as a full back. Skinner is a class act despite what our resident Camelon fan thinks.
  3. Just to clarify, only players signed in time for first game are eligible for the replay.
  4. Not going to argue your points but the next Gretna game is not Lowland League action.
  5. You really don't want to get a train to Wick. Not sure if still the case but you had to make sure you were on the right end of the train as one half disengaged at Wick and the other half went on to Thurso without stopping.
  6. In the first half Comrie was outstanding, always available and showed nifty footwork when under pressure. The sending off was a deserved one and its timing couldn't have been better. With 11 men I am sure they would have piled in at the start of the 2nd half but instead had to modify their tactics. Although Murphy had little to do, a lot of that can be attributed to Skinner in the middle of the defence, whose interceptions and tackling were top notch. Anderson really set the cat amongst the pigeons with strong, direct running and our goal was overdue. A thoroughly deserved win and you always know when Gemmell is doing well when the opposition fans boo his every touch.
  7. Now the bar just contains team pics since 2008, naturally enough.
  8. I was at a game there in 1984, IIRC there was a graveyard over the wall of one side.
  9. So the plan is, get a draw there and get a 5, 000 gate at Newtown?
  10. Bus companies rubbing their hands together in glee!
  11. Not a great draw for the club, bound to lose money on that tie. Just hope we don't take a tumble.
  12. I think you misunderstand me. I am merely stating that if a club does not post highlights just because of dubious decisions made during a game, it then looks suspicious in itself. I am not blaming the club for these decisions but they would look whiter than white if they were to show the highlights. Who knows, maybe the fans were wrong? But I doubt it.
  13. I think that says everything. At least the club could have been honest, shown the officials mistakes and no blame could be attached to them. Haven't done themselves any favours.
  14. Stevenson was back for EK game and only missed Wednesday because he was away. Sometimes people want to read too much into things
  15. The casual observer of this thread could be forgiven for thinking it was just another case of fans displaying sour grapes at losing and blaming the easiest target, the referee. On this occasion, however, the earlier posts should be heeded. It is ironic that pre-match jesting over the physical shape of one of the officials was aimed at the one official who did his job competently. Getting one off-side decision wrong when it leads to a goal is bad enough but to then compound that by wrongly raising a flag to deny an equaliser, is ridiculous. The ref did his bit for the k, too. Players and fans want consistency when cards are shown but this ref was only really interested in penalising Bo'ness. Home player Jamie Stevenson twice scythed down United players and got away with both and yet I don't have to tell you what the ref did when a BU player went in hard. His weakness was highlighted when he allowed the home players to pressure him into changing a decision. Sour grapes? No. Anger? Yes.
  16. This 100%. Everyone needs to wind their heads in. Is it true? So far, all we have is rumours and hearsay. Might be true, I don't know. If it is true, time to look forward and we have a player at the club who has shown for the last two years that he can play in Michael's position and add something to the role and that is Craig Comrie. He has been showing great form and even has a goal or two in him, which I am sure Michael would agree was not his strong suit. Michael has been a great servant and I hope his connection with the club isn't ending on a sour note but if so, the King is dead, long live the King!
  17. This has always been a subject that is just a matter of opinion between different fans. The one opinion that matters is that of Max. He sees them in training, how they respond to different tactics he may suggest. He has info on future opponents and so may well pick a team based on that. I think the days of a "best 11" are gone, it really is a squad game now.
  18. Not entirely sure what your question is really asking. If you are questioning why Gemmell isn't in the team, ask Max or Michael himself. We are really lucky to have Hunts at his age and possibly even luckier to have Murphy, who could easily shine in a higher league. Overall, we have a brand new squad and that 'never say die', 'will to win' attitude is still to be fostered between them but it is getting there. Max had a lot of changes forced on him this year but the team will come good, I'm sure.
  19. I'll give you it. It was actuallu Portgordon Vics, back in 2012. Chris Donnelly (again) and Chris Hamilton bagged hat-tricks but Steven Hislop scored five.
  20. One wee thing that's almost gone unnoticed is the fact we had two hat-trick scorers on Saturday. Last time that happened was in 2018, when Doogs and Stevenson managed it in the record win over Eyemouth. But who can remember the day we had three players manage it in the one game?
