Such a shame that people are so keen to find fault rather than concentrating on what the club has achieved in gaining promotion (whether or not you agree with the overall direction) along with overcoming the ridiculous decisions made by the SFA. So much work went into this by those “powers that be” and yet people expect them to be sitting around doing nothing better ready to reply to these comments, most of which aren’t even true. Please also remember that those keen to jump forward first with their story are simply ensuring that their version is out there before the truth is. The club don’t respond simply because they have better things to do than respond to fabrication; club to run, games to be played, money needs to come in to keep the club afloat and perhaps they feel it’s better to do that than respond to made up stories online.

Christ calm doon, i hardly think anyone is having a go at tge club, in fact in the last 2 years u can hardly think of a club that's had more favourable press attention and supporr from its fans, people are merely curious as to why a seemingly good media set up has been stopped, you saying peo9le are getting there version  out there befire the truth comes out is ironically, probably the most controversial thing posted yet.....

If I'm not mistaken the 3 teams handing out drubbings are the 3 latest promoted arrivals.
Early days but things like this should mean more relegation.

I dont think anyone from the first week of the lowland was under any false illusions that there were/are bigger clubs within non keague football, do you think that the vale and dalbeattie etc dont know there limits and where they stand within a pyramid,  the juniors chasing gold and jumping en mass last year, and now every month there is someone stamping there feet with demands that suit there own agenda....

Stuttered? Five wins from seven with the only two defeats against two of the favourites for the Lowland League.

I honestly think whitehill will turn Penicuik over tomorrow, Penicuik have stuttered pre season whitehill up at rosewell will be well up for it

That doesnt reflect the general thoughts of most Whitehill fans, we just want a side that on there day can give most teams a good game, pre season has been positive but the opening  fixtures are very difficult, mon the welfare

Very comfortable 7 2 victory tonight with goals from Devlin and the impressive Froude (2) with a Kevin Keane bizarre header own goal making it 3 1 at half time.

A few subs in the 2nd half saw 4 further goals,2 from the young lad Connor who impressed when coming on,Muir and Somerville who finished the game off making it 7. 2 offside goals as well could've made it even more but let's no be greedy or even get carried away here it's only pre season after all. :P

Mark Smith ex ww got the other Craigroyston goal although I felt oor keeper kinda wrong footed himself.

I would like to think the manager plays a few games this season absolutely strolled through the game.

Big squad playing for places obviously but will be difficult keeping everyone happy.

Was good to catch up wi Craigroyston legend John Young and Spartans manager Douglas Samuel as well.

Onwards to Thursday s visit to Easthouses now  and from what I've seen (only 2 games right enough) is a squad shaping up well.

    Early days mon the welfarrrrre!!!

Can't be far of last season's total goals scored already.....

I thought Kenny Aitchison was a good appointment and think he would have done a very good job with the 20's at Whitehill. When Kenny was appointed, Whitehill were still operating under the SFA guidance that they had 3 seasons to get their lights installed, so the club at that point were funding the 20's as per usual, everyone knew where they stood. Only a few weeks ago, the SFA informed Whitehill that they no longer had 3 seasons, they now had one season (June 2019) to get their lights installed. On the back of this news, the club met with Kenny to inform him they would now have to divert all spare funds to the lights and that he and his coaches would now have to raise their own funds and make the 20's self sufficient. Kenny didn't wish to proceed on this bases and given the change in circumstances the club understood and wished him all the best for the future. Don't understand all the drama over a 20's team taking a year out, it's not like there are now a raft of poor young men who can't play local football, there are now plenty of teams in Midlothian where these young players can develop their skills, it's not like Whitehill have deprived anyone, so who's losing? Young lads will continue to play football elsewhere for a season, Whitehill will rightly put all their efforts into raising money for the installation of floodlights and you can keep posting pish on the pie and Bovril.... everyone's a winner!!

Don't be coming on here posting posts that have factual backing

End of the day saying its to focus on Floodlights and other parts of the ground is just a cover up for a shambolic appointment in Aitchison (takes alot of doing to get worse than Sandisson but they somehow managed that, both these guys have ruined one of the founding members of the 20s development league and its a real shame), if he never walked do you think they would of pulled the plug on the 20s ? No its only been pulled cause kenny walked and took his players with him leaving the 20s with next to no players and unable to attract players as all good players will have been snapped up by other 20s

Indeed that will be 1 of various reasons, if individuals wish to leave the club and in.doing so take others with them then there's little anyone can do, the 20s won't be a great loss in my eye's but that's my own thoughts, shame the usual suspects were not as quick posting on Sunday night about the positivity surrounding the club at the weekend, as they are about negitive news, some things will never change

  7. There is no discussion from my point about Whitehills focus, a competing team and floodlights, floodlights have never really been part of the plan in there history most notibly because the village location and a park that suffers during the winter, now we have to get them things have changed significantly, I'm the first to call out committee etc but they seem to be addressing this as best they can and secondly look to have got a management team together with players who hopefully look a lot better than last year, losing the 20s is a blow, but it's nowhere near priority for the next few seasons, anyone saying different is nit picking imo,

Don’t let the 2 currently in the squad skew things Newman as last years side struggled. Unfortunately the likes of Brad Barrett, Ciaran McKenzie, Ross Jardine etc who stepped up from the previous year have all left.

Exactly, having a 20s team does not gaurentee a path to 1st team, in fact in this age loyalty means very little

Did i say it cant be done ? No, i just said its not an easy job 👍 Whitehill next season will have to try recruit and compete against Bonnyrigg, Peni, Civil, Edin Utd, Preston, Edin City, Spartans, Hutchie, Tynie who will all be established 20s teams or start a new one from scrach with no youth team below it will be very difficult, as if i was a 17 year old laddie I'd rather join an estabished team than a new team from scratch

Well considering that this year the 20s struggle to attract players, your theory of players wanting to join established ckubs rather than new clubs doesn't really stand up in my opioion

Agree with all that Rab has said...

Losing the 20s is a shocker and it doesn't cost much as the player pay subs for the pitches, refs etc and the odd 20s race night that has been done most years generates more money which would cover bus for away games, balls, cones, bibs (but only fuel is paid for as i beleive the bus was kindly donated by Lasswade High School when a game was outside Edinburgh at least that was the case when they played up at Lasswade), they get hand me down match and training kits so again no funding.

Whitehill now for next year will need to try and locate a 17s or 19s team and try draft them over into Whitehill 20s which is easier said than done especially with no link to any youth clubs now the Edinburgh South link has gone.

This will come back to bite on the backside around the 2nd half of the season when players who arent getting minutes have left and injuries/suspensions kick in then theirs no 20s to call upon to help with the matchday squad.

Wonder if Meikle had any say in it as he isnt a big fan of giving young laddies a chance maybe he's happy to keep paying older more expereinced players out his own pocket.

Penicuick seemed to manage setting a team up from scratch ?
