  1. I have, on a few occasions at least. Examples: I've changed my "bubble" a few times to allow for meeting folk in their homes. Whether that was specifically against the law at the time I don't know. My brother turned 30 in the summer and we had about a dozen or so people outside for drinks to celebrate. Went round to a mates for some drinks a few weeks ago, four of us from four households.
  2. Twitter should just automatically input the "This claim...is disputed" message whenever he posts anything going forward.
  3. I'm not sure whether that is worse than those couples (usually older) who have a jointly named facebook account.
  4. My bet is on the second scenario. Two, (or three at a push) households (max 6 people) can form a "bubble" over the festive period. Folk will largely do what they want anyway, then tier 4 reimposed in January.
  5. Been replaced as party leader by Jamie Blackett, but still allegedly standing for them, if it happens. Although GG is still also, according to twitter, the leader of The Workers Party of Britain.
  6. He'll have precisely zero chance of winning that.
  7. What have you named your daughter - David or Steve? Or have you not had that awkward conversation with the missus yet?
  8. Wouldn't say last night's result was "completely as expected" - Celtic were backed into 4/11 from 1/2 yesterday by certain fools who put money on them (i.e. me)
  9. The P&B Pound. Which only comes in £500 notes.
  10. As a non-parent and as someone who enjoys the occasional pint or twelve, I'd be happy with that.
  11. Its presence is reassuring in these trying times. We're into the last 16 now, and while there haven't been any scuddings to rival those of 5/6 years ago, big victories aren't just limited to the early rounds, as tonight's score of Kompanii Märjamaa 0 Tammeka Tartu 15 evidences.
  12. From memory I think Seinfeld was shown at almost midnight on BBC 2.
  13. I think Goldeneye's reputation is largely based on it being the first new Bond film for several years when it was released and, probably more importantly depending on your age, a cracking video game.
  14. Lewis Hamilton kneeing the dead copper's corpse would be a bit insensitive IMO.
  15. Pre covid lock down "Sorry, I don't have change" wouldn't have often been the truth though, rather more often code for "sorry, I have money which I don't want to give you"
  16. Late drama last night as B36 equalised in the last minute of stoppage time in extra time, then defeated TNS in the penalty shootout. B36 apparently the first team to reach the third qualifying round starting from the prelim round. KÍ also join them from the Faroes in that round.
  17. A work colleagues man went out and got steaming instead of joining her on the day they were to go in to register their baby. She then decided to take the step of leaving the fathers name off the certificate
  18. There's an Allison Allison who works for one of the local authorities I work with. I've never asked, but have assumed she married into the surname rather than being born with it.
  19. Domestic football is nowhere near as popular in Estonia as over here, but an interesting point on this is that some Estonian teams have had record crowds since fans have been allowed to return. Provincial clubs Kuressaare and Viljandi got about 850 and 650 fans respectively for games in July, which could be over double the regular attendance for each. A Parnü derby match got about 1800 fans which was apparently an all time record for the second top flight. Makes me wonder that if fans were allowed back to attend lower levels of football here would some lower league and top non-league teams get much bigger crowds than normal in the short-term.
  20. That Barcelona friendly was televised, and friendly or not, I remember Szamo's goalkeeping performance as one of the best I've seen. Giovani Dos Santos dived for penalty (in a friendly no less!) as well I'm sure!
  21. I was on the last train back from Ayrshire yesterday, can echo the same thing. Train pretty full, almost all teenagers not wearing a mask (and some middle aged couples as well). No conductors on either train and barriers open at Central on return so seething I didn't just get a cheap single ticket to save money rather than pay for my usual return.
  22. Your original moan on public transport is that you couldn't get a train home after 9:15pm this Friday. Unfortunate, but later services are back on from Monday and I'm sure you could get a bus home up until about 11pm this Friday anyway. Your argument for 24/7 public transport is nonsense. The number of people who start or finish work outwith normal public transport hours that don't either have access to a car, or an arrangement with their employer (i.e. staff taxis for pub workers) is too few to justify it.
  23. The Here for Beer boys fared better than expected, keeping the scoreline down to 9-0. Eyjafjallajökull, despite the cool badge of their Icelandic counterparts, lacked volcanic spirit and conceded 24 against Paide (not Kalev as originally stated) which is the biggest margin of victory so far.
  24. Is there really a need for 24/7 public transport from the city centre to somewhere 8 miles away? Under normal circumstances both buses and trains run from about 5am to Midnight (except Sunday's) and there were limited nightbus services at weekends until about 3am.
