  1. Sticking with Gilbert up the last climb must have just taken the edge off his sprint. It was some effort. Delighted for Kwiatkowski.
  2. Great that ICT are in the final too. Should be a cracking day. I'll be there.
  3. Indeed. Not many fullbacks enjoy playing a fast, tricky winner as much on song as Carmichael was on Saturday. Darryl has been an excellent player for us for three years, very consistent.
  4. Only completed 78 miles, leaving out the last little loop. Averaged 13mph. Happy with that, especially given the weather. Felt quite strong for the first 55 miles. Coped much better than I would have done last year with the 1,500m climbing, especially in terms of recoveryWinter training has clearly done some good.
  5. Yeah, I'd say the Alex Totten team of the early 80s is the other team which is on a par with Terry Christie's team and that of the current era. Difficult to compare as the game has changed so much since then; it is more commercial generally and certainly much more professional, in particular at the part-time level, where teams are much fitter and more tactically set out.
  6. Delighted for Degenkolb, it was clear what it meant to him at the end.Truly mental at the level crossing with several riders ignoring the barrier and the policeman to squeeze over the railway, the last one just a few seconds before a TGV sped past!
  7. Evans Ride It at Callander this Sunday, 87 miles including the Duke's Pass twice. Hoping to beat 6 and a half hours.
  8. We haven't. There are always exceptions though.
  9. Decent effort, mate. Must admit I never imagined I'd be intellectually categorised with Wasps1.
  10. I played my first round of golf in twenty months yesterday and my left knee is sore today. Seldom get problems with it after even a tough cycle. I came to the sport late - three years ago when I was 52 - and its easily the most effective and enjoyable way to keep fit and lose a bit of weight.
  11. Indeed. The usual Cowdung suspects are seething about it.
  12. Did my first proper set of hill intervals at the weekend. Pretty painful but managed to complete five reps.
  13. Can't disagree with that. Interesting that both May and Bain got so much out of their respective time at Alloa. Pleasing from our point of view.
  14. That's a bit of a generalisation. How many current first goalkeepers at SPFL clubs have followed your route, and remain with their original club?
