  1. I’m watching it now, sticking with it to see what happens in the end but it’s not good.
  2. I can’t imagine anything worse than being on a plane where a bunch of drunk people start fighting. If it happens the flight should divert into international air space and then, freed from the constraints of the law, the cabin crew should be allowed the brutally restrain them and throw them to their deaths into the open ocean. Maybe they could be hanged from the fuselage like that bit in Scarface as a warning to the other morons.
  3. Joshua Ngannou tonight then.
  4. They emailed him the report and he's run out of data.
  5. I have been trying to lose a bit of weight this year - I had a small operation early in January and thought it prudent to try and lose some as I'm too heavy. I was 120 kg / 18 stone 12 lbs just after my op and now I'm down to 113 kg / 17 stone 11 lbs, which I am pleased with. There's a bit of a way to go and I've started doing more conditioning training alongside lifting weights, doing a couch to 5k programme. I used to run a lot and have done a few half marathons but the C25K works well - there's always a temptation to think "I can do this, I used to run loads" but underestimating how much I need to bring it back. I've also started doing some other measurements of health to track - I did the Cooper Test the other day. It's a running test where you run as far as you can in 12 minutes, a result that is highly correlated with VO2 Max. I will try this monthly and see how I get on with improving it - the result this week was 1810 metres, which is apparently average for my age, and gives me a VO2 Max of 29.4. I've also been monitoring my heart rate, which is good, resting heart rate consistently below 60bpm. I don't really understand how that is as I've not done that much cardio training and I am overweight. My dad has heart disease and has had several heart attacks so I feel like I should keep an eye on my heart health, although his is probably due to 40 years of heavy smoking. I really wish I'd weighed myself and measured any of these things when I was much fitter. I managed a 2 hour 4 minute time for a half marathon and I have no idea what any of these measurements were at that time but they must've been a lot better - I didn't weigh myself at the time, didn't measure anything except my running times. Oh well.
  6. There has been a rumpus on RW, self-improvement, anti-vax type Twitter - a prominent user made a tweet suggesting that there were no circumstances where using modern medicine was beneficial to people. Several other users put scenarios to him, including a prominent former ballerina turned manosphere fitness guru, who suggested that maybe if you had sepsis you should treat it with modern medicine. This lead, I assume, to this thread being posted. there are some pictures of skin lesions etc in it that are a bit minging. There is an epidemic of extremely odd, paranoid thinking in these spaces. People seemingly uttterly terrified of being poisoned by radio waves or their fillings. I read somewhere about Joe Rogan being utterly terrified of vaccines. Jordan Peterson claiming that drinking a glass of apple cider caused him to stay awake for a week. I remember reading a website about the carnivore diet which had loads of testimonials and the people leaving them were clearly all very neurotic with highly disordered eating, the carnivore diet being the latest one. It’s sad that there will be people, particularly young men, who might see these weirdos as role models ir look up to them.
  7. We finished the following behind in those seasons 2019 - 15 points 2020 - 14 points (Covid season so finished early) 2021 - 21 points (Covid season) 2022 -8 points 2023 - 8 points 2024 - Promoted as champion after winning last ten games The last couple of seasons have been the ones that we really should have been a lot closer.
  8. Was talking to a few Caley fans I know in our group chat and one made the point that while the current board are useless in many ways, we are basically seeing the results of not building the club properly when we were on the up. Between 2003 and 2017 we were in the top flight for 12 of 14 seasons, and the two seasons we weren't in the top flight we won the First Division, as it was then called. When we got promoted we built the new stands and put in undersoil heating to meet the criteria for going up. What investment has been done in the club since then? The ground has not had any work done on it, in terms of improving the facilities or match day experience for fans, nothing has been done at all. I saw that some of the floor cracked in the away stand during the Hibs game, which is extremely worrying. In terms of the playing side, what long term investment has there been? John Robertson left the club in 2004 and when he returned in 2017 it must have been like he'd never been away - we are still using the training facilities at Fort George, as far as I understand, and use other facilities that aren't ours like Highland rugby club and other pitches. We have some sort of gym at the stadium that the players don't use. We are trying now to develop a hub for training at the IRA (calm down Mr Gardiner, not that one) but why has it taken until now? What has been done to diversify our revenue streams, which is what the club are trying to do now, however successfully or unsuccessfully? Nothing - as noted above, we don't use the stadium for events or anything like that, we didn't manage to identify any extra revenue streams to make the club more sustainable. We didn't *need* that stuff as we were in the top flight, plenty TV money, better crowds than now, full houses a few times a year from the Old Firm and Aberdeen. When that's taken away we are in a bad spot. I hope the battery farm vote goes our way - it sounds like the usual Highland Council teuchtery back room carve up from the reports - but we seem to be in the right about the initial vote being ignored. I'm not massively confident that we'll take this money and invest it in brilliant schemes to make the club self sustaining.
  9. I see there are rumours that Man Utd are looking at Gareth Southgate as manager if/when Ten Hag leaves at the end of the season - seems like a ready made disaster to me.
  10. Me and Jivesy in a Bella Italia before the Caley v Morton play off tie
  11. If we get into the promotion play offs I will buy Jives Miguel one moderately priced two course dinner at a casual dining restaurant.
  12. A stream would be great for our fans, especially as we have quite a lot of supporters who live away from Inverness and the Highlands. So obviously we don't do one.
  13. I see Falkirk have now gone 3/4s of the way through League One without losing a game. Wikipedia has there being five top flight unbeaten seasons in Scottish football, although I think the Killie one in 1899 was Division Two? Celtic P18 W15 D3 L0, 1897–98 Rangers P18 W18 D0 L0, 1898–99 Kilmarnock P18 W14 D4 L0, 1898–99 Celtic P38 W34 D4 L0 2016–17 Rangers P38 W32 D6 L0 2020–21 Rangers also went unbeaten when they won League One in 2013/14. What other unbeaten seasons have there been in Scottish football?
  14. Waiting for @TheScarf to let me know which boozer he'll be in pre-match so I can post a tweet inviting the Section B to it.
  15. I saw this on the Bully Watch account, I assume that it must be your parents dog. Hope you dont' mind me sharing https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/news/courts/4913530/bryan-laird-xl-bully-blairgowrie/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Sounds like he got off as they couldn't prove he'd been specifically negligent in allowing his dog to kill another dog. I'd have thought that this would be kind of implicit in the fact that the dog killed another but there we go. I'm sure the rescue centre will be absolutely fine, nothing could possibly go wrong. Cages filled with land sharks that are so uncontrollable their owners had to give them up? No problemo!
  16. Conspiracy theorists Noooo, the Covid vaccin will alter your DNA and make you die suddenly Random insane German https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-68477735
  17. I never watch these with the sound in so apologies for any of the music!
  18. Russian channels now reporting it was sunk, after initial reports said it made it back to base. Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has released a video of the strike.
  19. https://www.edinburghlive.co.uk/news/edinburgh-news/edinburgh-gangster-used-fire-alarm-28748145?int_source=nba Escaping from jail sounds easier than it cracked up to be - just pull a fire alarm and run the other way. On a previous home visit McGovern got repeatedly stabbed by David Togher, who was just released from jail for that and featured in this thread on the last page.
  20. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/tories-labour-sunak-hunt-starmer-budget-support-record-low-poll-b1142921.html Tories getting lowest score in a poll in the history of Ipsos Mori polling. Still I’m sure the forthcoming budget will sort it out for them!
  21. I want to speak to this woman’s parents.
  22. I don’t think it’ll happen but Neil Warnock getting Aberdeen relegated would be one of the funniest non Rangers liquidation moments in Scottish football history.
