Correct. The clean sheet is pleasing as well.
First half was a hard shift for Fin Malcolm who didn't have enough support around him. Really pleased that he kept plugging away and got his goal in the second half.
Gretna players did a lot of running and worked hard but didn't get many chances. Their hard work combined with a lot of luck kept the BU's down to 2 goals.
Maybe Malcom & Stenhouse up front would have been a better option to start. Second half changes showed the other options available with Dalziel playing the hold up roll bringing others into play and with a wee bit more luck Mooney could have had a couple plus some desperate defending keeping it at two.
Continue onwards as we can’t go upwards.

Does the Braves ground have any cover?
Images don't suggest there is....
Yes, small stand.

The management will put out their best team available and if it needs changing he’s got the personnel to do it. According to Hunts they go out knowing what’s expected of them, simples.

Hard fought victory with everyone doing their bit plus the bench has depth in it giving the management team options.
Thumbs up to the guy who’s doing the media info and the usual suspects who do the pre match summaries and match reports.2 -

From the club that had a manager paying players wages and get a freebie for a ground incurring no costs. Freeloaders.
Unbelievable.
What freebie for a ground incurring no costs? Think you’ll find that all clubs using the facilities have to pay for the privilege.
Maybe Max’s company sponsored the players thereby it may have been tax deductible.

Thanks for the updates DD.
Great result away from home and a real boost for the next match at Tranent.
Nice to see the two 17 year olds combine for one of the goals.0 -

Hamilton? I saw him at the pie hut on Saturday
Still got a long way to go for full fitness but hopefully he gets back and can add something to the squad.

Squad so far
Goalkeepers. : Digaba, Fullarton
Defenders : McArthur (Capt), Stevenson, Hawkins, McAulay, Ward, Rutherford, Irving
Centre Mid. : Gemmell, Johnston, Henderson,
Att. Mid : Grant, Kennedy, Mooney, Porteous
Strikers : Malcolm, Dalziel, Stenhouse,
Those in bold are the new signings
As you see a major rebuild for the new management team.
Also have loaned Heeps (Broxburn) & Murdoch (HOB)
As supporters we just have to be patient as it’s going to be a tough league this season.
If I’ve missed anyone out I’m sure JS can add in.

We had a perfectly good stand until Falkirk council left it to rot. Also all this next work with the hub etc. couldn’t this all be situated under a seated stand and kill 2 birds with the one stone
Repairing it not cost effective plus contained asbestos so a few health and safety issues.

Here are my thoughts on the BU's state after 4 friendlies :-
Musa will be the #1 goalie. I hear he is coming back on Thursday so he will be starting without any preseason games. Far from ideal. Heard that we do have a back up goalie but don't know who....
Centrehalfs.....we only have 2 and one of them (McArthur) is well below his usual standard !! McCauley and Rutherford have been drafted in to assist there but neither looks comfortable there. Really surprised that Big Hunter hasn't signed "a big un".
Fullbacks.........plenty of options for the 2 and 3 shirts. Could be an issue keeping everyone happy. Irving and McCauley probably my top pairing.
Defensive midfield......JJ and Johnston to start most games....Gemmell comes on to kill off games and assist the referees.
Attacking mid.....plenty of options.
Up front......"Lucas" and Malcolm are both making the type of runs that create goals. Heeps looks a different player as well now he has been freed from Max's manacles.
In summary I reckon the BU's will be a decent watch this season and will score a good number of goals......but we will lose a lot of goals too. We will finish somewhere between 5th and 8th.
Roll on Saturday !!
Think you could be right regards Heeps might be one that needs encouragement and the odd pat on the back.

So that's four friendly games played .......what do we think ?
Only friendly I’ve seen but quite impressed with what looks quite deep squad and by the way the changes didn’t really make all that much of difference.
Of the new faces, Henderson (lots of energy)Lucas (puts himself about), Kennedy (pacy), Rutherford & Irving look good full backs plus Heeps looked good on the ball.
First three games will give us an indication on how the squad will gel.

Number 9 is "Lucas" somebody. Young laddie.
Not Lucas Moura then.

Hopefully the BU's do a Man United
Good enough is old enough
Mon the BU's !!!
Just need a back up keeper to complete the squad which has an average age of 24.

Any reason why the fixtures look like a random shuffle ?
The BU’s league fixtures
July - HAA
Aug - HAHH
Sept- AAAH
Oct - HHA
Nov - AHH
Dec- AHAHHA
Jan - HAH
Feb - AHA
Mar - HA
April - AAH
Gaps in the months to fit in all the cup ties, ground shares to take into consideration but I just wonder why they don’t use a programme to alternate the fixtures where possible.

Fill in the gaps
Digaba
Stevenson, Hawkins, McArhur, McAulay
Johnston, Gemmell, Grant
Malcolm
Whoever gets the position has a big rebuild in front of them.
Add, Rutherford, Henderson, Kennedy, Irving, Porteous, Ward ( had resigned )
Jacobs ?, Heeps ? Miller? I know Devon played on Tuesday but has he resigned

I understand that the new signings will be announced only once they are registered. That probably means the Tuesday game will feature several trialists....who have signed contracts.
The absence of information of course only leads to speculation and gossip.
Rumoured two from CSS.

I see Jamie Walker has signed for Kelty. I always thought he was a standout with the Braves.
Always looked a player worth a try in a higher grade.
