Joe Cardle isn't signing for Tranent.

Tranent have brought in 8 'free' players and 'sold' 5 existing players, not sure why this business model is a bit ridiculous in your opinion?

Ok, Tranent have brought in “8 frees “ but at what cost to attract them as usually their first question is how much am I getting? One rumour doing the rounds on here was the Lennon Walker supposed deal ie 3k signing plus £250 a week.

Good young player but if true thats a hefty amount for one.

Fixture secretary arranges league games to avoid any issues.  The BU's appear to get priority over Athletic for cup games.

The groundshare works in Milan and it works in Bo'ness.    Would I prefer if the BU's had their own stadium ?......Yes of course but alas they don't.

Shouldn’t be an issue with cup games we’re lucky to get a ratio of 1 in 3 or 4 at home.

Had a feeling we'd go for Jones and chuffed we've got him. Great player.

You had him on your books season 21-22  and let him go. Decent player scored 14 for us. One criticism if he starts a game well he’s hot to handle but have seen him get roughed up early and you can forget him. Before you say sour grapes he was Max’s man and wherever he went he was sure to follow. Wish him all the best.

Was sorry to hear of the passing today of Curly Robertson (from Philipston), a long time Bo'ness supporter - albeit not in recent times due to his age / health.

Was he an elder brother of Ally Robertson of West Brom fame?

Serious question, did Max leaving have a serious affect on the BU budget going forward for 23/24?   If he was paying for Alassan Jones wages, was he paying for others as well?

It seems quite a bizarre situation for a manager to pay wages, guess all well and good until they leave, then it leaves a hole in the budget unless someone else steps forward.

He is a successful businessman. So maybe sponsoring players through his business is how he’s done it then of course it might  be tax deductible.which would be the way to do it.
    Don’t know if that’s possible.

U can talk to people in the last 6 months of contract

Well that would have been Max along with Little and guess what Max resigned, Little took over and then he left to join Max. So I imagine they being experienced in management would have been talking to players in that period.

If they told the committee of any approaches to players then I imagine that info went with them.

So let’s just cut the new management some slack and let them do it their way.

    What's his usual role?

Anywhere up front, ver pacy. Scored 13, also missed 9 through injury so could easily scored more.

BUs tend to wait until contracts with other clubs ends before announcing any signings. That's the end of June is it not? In saying that Stuart announced Michael as his assistant in the Falkirk Herald but nothing has been said by the club.

Looking at the transfer market most contracts seemed to finish on 31st May. Think we just wait till the inks dry on the registration before announcing. Think some of the posters forget that Little would probably have spoken to players prior to jumping ship. So that puts us a wee bit on the back foot.

  9. By the looks of it we don’t have a website. Not everybody is on Facebook or Twitter but we need to raise our Profile not tomorrow,  next week but now. As DD say 32 sleeps till the season starts but the Club need to waken up before that happens.

This is just a we moan.

Stuart Hunter announced as new BU manager on BUFC Facebook.

    BigGameHunter is back.

    Excellent appointment.

Oh No!  Not to the appointment just you’ll be churning out the old cliché.

    Good luck to them both.

Have they only 9 players signed

The 31st May ended the contracts of players so if they haven’t signed extensions they are free agents. However, there will be a lot of players looking for clubs just depends on what you can afford from your budget.

  12. Fill in the gaps

                                 Digaba

    Stevenson, Hawkins, McArhur, McAulay

             Johnston,  Gemmell, Grant

                                Malcolm

Whoever gets the position has a big rebuild in front of them.

    Keir signed on Tuesday

Correct.  Digaba, McArthur & Johnston were on 2 yr contracts, Hawkins, Gemmell, Grant & Stevenson signed extensions and Malcolm plus McAulay signed later. So apart from the last two the others were signed up during Littles tenure as asst. Man or Manager.

He sells them. Most staying on had already signed I believe

Correct,  Shittle was in place when extensions were signed, according to an earlier post.

The ship didn't really need steadying, it was just drifting aimlessly. No chance of the league or relegation and only the League Cup to play for which to give credit where credit's due, Little and the team were a penalty kick away from winning.

Not privy to the discussions when appointing Little but the committee seemed to make it clear at the time that they weren't looking for a caretaker for the remainder of the season. It's not as if he was being interviewed for a position at a club and a committee that he knew nothing about. He knew what he was getting into. I should hope that the question was asked 'What if Christie gets another job and wants you to join him?' Suppose it doesn't really matter if it was or what his answer was. It's done now and we move on.

I can understand why Christie wanted him. It frees him up to shout 'HEY, (insert name of Bo'ness Tranent player). COME ON' twenty times a game which seems to be the sum total of his coaching ability. With a big budget comes big expectations and, if Christie's time at Bo'ness and his man management skills are anything to go by, I await reports of him signing players, falling out with them, giving them the cold shoulder, them becoming unused subs and then being punted out on loan or disappearing from the match day squads altogether. I don't know if this happened in his first stint but Tranent fans you have been warned.

Lenny will be a good signing for Tranent. Lots of potential, direct and good running at defences at speed. Only slight criticism would be that he needs to add an end product more often. If he can do that, then they've won a watch.

One question still remains unanswered, why did he contact United, when according to Beachboy”Tranent where on an upward curve since 2015”?
Interesting, Tranent have gone through 6 managers and now on their 7th in that period. Maybe he who pays the piper calls the tune

That’s the income from approximately 100 season ticket holders on one player. 😬🤔

So app 13k for a 40 week season.. Whith a squad of around 20 - though not everyone on the same wage - it’s still going to be a heft amount. I if you’ve got it flaunt it.
