  1. Good turnout last night for Chris Donnelly’s testimonial race night. Players from the past there were Andy Scott, Mark Peat, Gibby ,,Ian Nimmo,Paul McLaren, Rhuari, Roddy and Robert Sloan.

Well organised by Jennifer, Will, Stuart Hunter (tallest jockey and a heat winner but pipped at the post by a lady in the final)

1957 saw the BU's travel to Bonnybridge and return the victors by 3-0  The team was: Thomson, Collumbine, Gavin, McBlain, Garth, Adam, Taggart, Hunter, Glennon, Calder, Shaw.  Goals came from  James Glennon, Patrick Taggart & John Hunter.

Future full Scotland international Harry Thomson made his debut as a trialist from Broughton Star.

Harry Thomson went to Burnley - where he was known as ‘God in a Green jersey ‘and played for around 10 seasons . Later moved to Blackpool and finished his career at Barrow.  Sadly passed away in 2013 aged 73.

Did a decent job at Broxburn and built a real good side.  They were inconsistent but could beat anyone on their day. The new management have managed to address that with a couple of decent additions.  My fear is Max will try to poach some of the players and Tranent will go for the Broxburn Management

    That's the usual pattern.

Ours is an ageing squad - 8 players 30 and over - and is needing rebuilt and Max will no doubt have players in mind but with exception of a proven goalscorer this squad is surely good enough for a top 5 finish

Won Superleague wi Bonnyrigg, nothing else of note, went for Stenny job just lately. think Money man at Tranent not happy, as he did it behind his back !!!

Lost to Auchinleck in Semi of Junior Cup on penalties same year. Why wouldn't he be. However, in football some managers and players are a fickle lot and about as predictable as the weather and this is another example.

No chance of that if they aren't even  going for a Licence. Too many people going on about great history that's why the country has its current political state. BoNess may go for their licence next year for the following year. They may not so it doesn't matter about how much history they have if their future isn't going to have the same sort of story. I hope boness do once they get their ground all done that theye go for their licence.

I'd be surprised if tam courts went for it

    Not in our hands.

Does anyone know what he's currently involved with?

So why would you be surprised if he went for it especially if all goes well with the ground and Hub development and the potential that could bring.

Anybody can speculate but only Kegs can answer that. Leaves Shirra in an incredibly tough position taking a team who have just lost 5-0 to Bonnyrigg.

    Dave the clairvoyant.

Get the players on side to start with and make sure they have a game plan. Of course that's easier said and done but as supporters we need to get behind the team.

    Surprised at Kegs decision.

    I'm not.

His record since taking over P 47  W27  L12  D8 a strike rate of 57.44% make your own judgement

He worked well with AMcG as the good cop and from what I was told his coaching methods were well received by the players but our style of football is not pleasing a lot of our supporters and his resignation IMO was inevitable.

In 1968, on the 27th,  Bathgate Thistle were in town for a League match but were sent packing 6-0.  The team was:  Crawford, McGuinness, McCandless, McMeechan, Thomson, McQueen, Bernard, McDonald, McGuire, J Sneddon, Watson.  The goals came from Brian Watson, doubles by  Benny McGuire and Joe McMeechan and one from Tony McCandless.

Saw Brian Watson the other day in the High Street. He was a very quick player in his day and can still walk fast as witnessed.

Thinking about rough teams I struggled to think of any opponent who has tried to kick us off the park in the last 10 years...... which led to a wee flashback (and a wee chuckle) remembering Paul Murphy putting TC off the park at Lithgae. Red card all day long but ref bottled it as it was just after KO. #HappierTimes

Yes it was but I think the Ref was one of the old school in that if it was early on, no problem man.

Bo’ness had the better first half. Tranent the better 2nd half. Not a 5-0 game but Tranent more clinical. Bo’ness are very poor up top for me.

Just heard no player or manager from Bo’ness went back for food after the game. Very poor from any club regardless of how big or small they are. Eyemouth get beat most weeks and still have the courtesy to go back. Lack of class that

We were in my car before 3.55 and the one in front of us at the main road was our managers.. Now he maybe had a  prior engagement or he had resigned and left.

Thanks for the late responses.  I was a little cheeky here.  Loanhead were unable to raise a team so Bo'ness were given a walk-over into the next round.

So it was a trick question !! Devious sleekit barsteward.........you must have some Lithgae blood in you.

Your second pie has just gone.

I understand all that work took place but I wouldn’t class that as recent work would you ? I think over 10 year on roof is it not

understand what your saying on revenue with huts but surely better planning when working to get huts  in place

NPA is a great idea but why did BU as a club not take control of this situation and be no need for bu to become a lodger at place they used to rule

pitch it’s not best in Scotland you’re deluded if you think it is .

    Anyway merry Christmas

Because it wasn't theirs to do so. It was built by the people of Bo'ness and held in trust. It was then transfered to Central Region and latterly to FDC who collectively did SFA to maintain the the facility apart from cutting the grass. The NPA was formed and after successfully canvassing for financial aid from Coal Board Regeneration Fund were able  reinstate the trust.

This venture needs dedicated people to take it forward as applications for grants is not a 5 minute job.
