  1. Just in and trying to get the second half - how the f**k do you get ppv access using a season ticket?
  2. Disappointing not to win when playing against 10 men for the second half but, when you look at our record on plastic pitches, its a point gained away from home.
  3. Whilst @Frankie S's post is informative in terms of hearing from somebody involved in the sector, would the best comparison in terms of like for like weekends to see the impact of passports not be this weekend, given that this Friday is the traditional payday for those still paid on the last Friday of each month (given that a pay weekend was used as the comparison point in September).
  4. I also thought Motherwell looked a decent side. Well on top for the first 10 minutes of each half and pressed us throughout meaning we often had to go all the way back just to hold on to the ball, only for Siegrist to lose it in his worst kicking display yet.
  5. I never thought of Motherwell as dirty team with a penchant for cheating but they appear to have a lot of dirty players who like to cheat. f**k Kevin Clancy and Mulgrew is the sexiest man alive.
  6. This. Anyway, united to continue their defensive masterclass and grind out another 1-0 victory on our relentless march to the title.
  7. My mum called to let me know her uncle, who I also referred to as my uncle, died this week. He was 99 and the last person I know who had served in WW2. Joined up at 19 after finishing school in 1938 and wanted to become a tank commander but the British army had too many. He saw an advert for the newly formed parachute regiment and went in there instead. Ended up being dropped into occupied Greece and spending his time organising and assisting the partisans to fight a guerilla war against the Axis powers. Mental stuff. He kept a diary throughout it which is now in the Imperial War Museum in Manchester. Don't know what he thought about the change in what the poppy represented. I dont think he had one of the face masks pictured above.
  8. Is there any good beginner guides to crypto online? I dont understand any of the technology behind it or practical applications it has but, having stuck a very small amount into XRP just to try and give me some motivation to read up on it, it seems like all crypto is extremely volatile and much more susceptible to the actions of investors more so than any other assets. Basically I dont understand any of analysis and price predictions either.
  9. As with anything that seems to be based on unverified reports spreading like wildfire on social media, I don't think you are contributing to the problem by having a degree of scepticism. It seems like there has been limited number of these incidents likely coupled with an increase in traditional spiking of drinks. Throw in a conservative home secretary demanding urgent answers and you have your moral panic.
  10. Lower providing the booster/over 12s vaccination speeds up.
  11. Whilst I agree schools should not be shut, given the pressures clinical staff have been working under, for years, but in particular, since the pandemic began, I think they are entirely entitled to moan. I'm aware there's a few members of P&B who have clinical roles and I don't think any of them could be accused of not getting on with the job in extremely difficult circumstances. The fact is, the NHS has been run with no slack for years and it only takes a small adverse event to push it over the edge. It may take a combination of increasing efficiency, increasing funding and better organisation but the public can play a role by using some fucking common sense in reducing no-show appointments and not turning up at A&E for an ailment that could be sorted by the chemist.
  12. United reactivated ppv for season ticket holders. Good move considering the position of other clubs.
  13. Limiting it to 3 players I have actually seen playing, in the flesh for United and based on our current needs:- 1. Duncan Ferguson - exactly the type of number 9 we need. 2. Dave Narey - would just about dislodge Edwards or Mulgrew from the starting 11. 3. Kjell Olofsson - just because.
  14. Great performance from us and fully capitalised on hibs not being at the races. The back line is looking really solid, Edwards, Mulgrew and Benji are a cut above anything we've had in years. Add in decent full backs and a Fuchs-powered midfield that is starting to play football and things are looking far better than we could have hoped for at the start of the season.
  15. Whilst it's terrible that he was murdered, he tried to ban abortion outright and was opposed to LGBT rights.
  16. Im not sure if they could be considered discriminatory as long as they continue with exemptions for those who can't have the vaccine for medical reasons and everyone who requires them has had the opportunity to be vaccinated. The objection is more because they appear to be pointless given that vaccination does not prevent transmission and, whilst relatively benign in isolation, do represent an infringement on civil liberties that could go further on the next occasion.
  17. Whilst I suspect the 14 men of Hibs will ultimately prove too much for a plucky United, I'm just glad that our cultured footballers will be safe from the outright thuggery of Porteous. We may not leave with any points but at least with our shins intact.
  18. Likely not but, as always seems to happen at these events, you get the more extreme anti-capitalist, anti-globalist left wingers/anarchists who attach themselves to the protests. And Glasgow does seem to have its contingent of union jack worshipping, statue saving borderline facists who wont pass up an opportunity to scrap with anyone who appears to be slightly to the left of Nigel Farage.
  19. Whilst not encouraging of outright violence, if Insulate Britain/XR etc want an opportunity to protest, this is it.
  20. There's been numerous environmentalists in the media over the last few weeks pointing out that the issue with renewables in the UK is not the capacity for generation but the capacity for storage. We simply don't have enough to take advantage of the windy days, notwithstanding tidal and wave power seems to be hugely underexploited. I would be keen in the first instance to move towards renewables with back up from new nuclear, which could then be phased out in 30 years.
  21. Take it. Too many off days and we looked shaky as f**k at the back in the first half but got the result. The Faroes are getting increasingly difficult to play against.
  22. The back 3 works best for us as we have something almost unique in the Tierney Robertson partnership where either can attack being supported by the other. The problem today was that Tierney was accompanied by a novice and a midfielder/sweeper when we really need two solid centre halfs alongside him. Overall we had by far the best play and chances and deserved to win though.
  23. I never want to play Israel again.
